HEXTREK alpha: a hex battle game with mintable Counterparty assets

Play it, break it, beat it.

HEXTREK is a turn-based hex tactics in space, in the tradition of Battlefront (1983) and WeeWar (2007).

Exact odds before every attack, async turns, and units that persist between matches and can be minted as Counterparty subassets (on Bitcoin signet during the alpha).

Play. Sign in with an email link, XCP Wallet (address verification or Horizon Wallet (signet asset minting supported). Take on the AI on First Contact (Medium by default, Hard if you dare), or create a match, send the invite link and play another commander at your own pace on a turn clock from five minutes to three days. The player guide is at https://hextrek.io/guide.

Mint. Units that survive rated matches between players at Veteran or above go to your Hangar (AI games don't count). There you choose their perks at Elite and Ace, and you can mint them as HEXTREK.U subassets on Bitcoin signet: connect Horizon set to signet (XCP Wallet is mainnet-only), request the mint, and the unit arrives in your wallet with its certificate. Mints are free until 21 October, 14:00 UTC, then 1,250 signet HEXBITS paid from the Hangar (a way to buy them with signet XCP is coming). Signet is a test network: nothing there carries over to mainnet, with one exception, the alpha pass.

Alpha pass. The first 69 commanders to bring a unit home to their Hangar at Veteran from a rated Basic match against another player earn HEXTREK.ALPHATEST, which unlocks Advanced for the alpha: all-unit matches and the six Advanced unit types. It arrives in your Horizon wallet on signet. Pass holders who take a unit to Elite before the alpha closes graduate to HEXTREK.ALPHA on mainnet: permanent access to Advanced for as long as you hold it. A unit at Ace by the close adds a gold badge. Rated matches open after three completed matches; farmed results don't count.

Challenge ladder. The first eight commanders to beat the AI at Medium or Hard win HEXBITS: 8888 for the first, then 7777, 6666, 5555, 4444, 3333, 2222 and 1111. Post a screenshot of the result panel and your commander name in the HEXTREK Telegram group.

Bug bounty. 3333 HEXBITS for each confirmed bug, 9999 for one that could lose a match, a unit or a mint. Report it in the HEXTREK Telegram group: what you did, what you expected and what happened; for a mint, include the request id from your Hangar.

HEXBITS. The game's in-game currency will be fair-launched on xcp.fun later in the beta. There is no team allocation beyond a small founder mint on the same terms as everyone else, from addresses published before the sale opens.

Prizes. Ladder and bounty prizes are recorded against your account now and paid in HEXBITS if, and only if, HEXBITS graduates on xcp.fun. If it does not graduate, a different token and a different way of distributing prizes will be decided and announced.

The Counterparty HEXTREK parent asset is issued and locked, and HEXBITS is issued, pending its xcp.fun launch.

News and updates are posted in both; all discussion and support happen in the Telegram group. The team (@SamadhiSpeaks and @AngelsintheAIs) will never message you first or ask for your wallet's seed phrase or private key.

Yo some nodes might deliver stale hashes and data via events.

There is a bug fix where a fairmint wrongly resets the longname of a subasset.

For that bug there was a quick fix that inserted a correction into ledger tables but the subsequent reparse only ran partially.

Now the event stream shows stale hashes and longnames on nodes that never did a manual full reparse because of the partial reparse that ran with the quick fix and no other subsequent reparse reached deeper into that territory.

Apparently only nodes that did a manual reparse are correct until this day.

Every match you create on hextrek.io/pvp has an invite link: send it however you like, and your opponent lands in the seat after one sign-in. You also have a challenge link, the one on your share cards. Whoever follows it gets a match against you on First Contact, with basic units and a one-day clock.

Referral bonuses: invite a new commander with one of your links. When they complete their first rated match, you each have 100 HEXBITS (the game token) recorded. When their first unit comes home at Veteran or above from a rated match, you each have 250 HEXBITS more. Up to 20 invited commanders earn you bonuses; past that, they still earn their own. A match ended by a Kick, a resignation or an agreed draw before round 5 doesn't count, and an unrated match never does. Two accounts that share a wallet earn nothing from each other, and an account that has already played can't be referred. The PvP page shows your bonuses recorded.

Prizes are paid in HEXBITS if, and only if, HEXBITS graduates on xcp.fun; if it does not, a different token and distribution will be decided and announced.
