I took $600K in funds to dev for 3 years, the market took a shit, that $600k held in BTC turned into $200k... and I stuck around funding Counterparty development out of my own funds for the remaining 2 years.... didn't raise anymore funds, didn't say "ooops, ran out of funds" and walked... I stuck by my word and kept funding servers and development out of my own pocket to the tune of $200k/year... going $400K into my personal hole to support CP

the image that is used on xchain is the image take directly from the project JSON...if you want the image changed, then talk to them about getting the image in their project JSON updated, and then have them reach out to me so I can do the manual process of removing the image from the xchain servers and deleting the database entries and then re-parse the project json file...... The idea here is you submit your final artwork to a project, they review/approve it, then pass the final image on to xchain in the project JSON..... xchain downloads the image and displays it...... the process is not really meant for people to change images after they have already submitted artwork to a project and got it approved

Jeremy collected BLACKBOX funds, and paid Javier to do the work he wanted him to do, similar to an employee, afaik
the CIP process was used also, but loosely. The more time went on the less anything was actually discussed with the community. Recent half dozen upgrades were wholly for Jeremy's personal gain and each one had less discussion. Now we see his true colors with the open hostility.
When I was involved with the newly formed Foundation he refused to cooperate with anything except getting paid for resources and having free marketing for his private service products.
Bottom line being that he was collecting funds as well as forcing upgrades. There should be something sound put into place for the benefit of the community -

After he disabled HTML I made a point of doing some CSS injection tricks. I shared the methodology with @NathanSonic. The next morning he spilled the beans by creating new assets using this methodology. So one of the methods was patched that day. (The other injection method still works)
The dozen or so assets that were created that day by Nathan and I are now blacklisted on tokensscam and have been for some time. (Listed at pepedust.com). Only the thumb will load and nothing else. Similar to one of the wallets I've had which will not load for like 3 years now. I even did a sweep to a new wallet and that wallet was also failing to load on every instance.
🍾 So historically speaking, I'm glad this preposterousness will be continued in an observable interactive environment. The official counterparty original definitely has it's merits -

Jdog put out a press release awhile back that "Xchain platform" had been acquired by DANKEST, LLC led by CEO Jeremy Johnson. He teased this "buy-out" for weeks and I think a lot of people thought it was legit. Counterparty finally hitting the big leagues. But as it turns out, Jdog is Jeremy Johnson, and DANKEST, LLC is like a $99 LLC anyone can set-up. There was no "aquisition" just a fancy press release that he sold his properties to himself

I am not impressed with the performance and I feel the name is not adequate for the feature as there is not adequate built-in fairness.
Seems like there should be a limit per address, not tx.
FREERAREPEPE was made because I wanted to be the first to use the feature to give-away actual Rare Pepe that way. And someone took too much, without regarding the social contract in the description.
So I'm not sure it is even good for marketing because the likelihood of being gamed is high.
Being able to charge xcp per mint will make it more useful, I believe -
im not sure fairmints with an xcp cost make much sense because you could do the same exact thing by just posting dex orders, but i haven’t looked into it too much

If I had to guess, people were ripped off by scammers who used the Xchain valuations. One wash trade, and you have a token worth a million-billion-trillion dollars or however much you want.

People who don’t know any better, think it’s a good idea to invest some into the burgeoning crypto space, write a check for $5k to buy one of these.

No, if an order is in the mempool, you can jump in front of it by using a higher fee to get it indexed in front of it. So your buy goes onto the books before the sell, and you can put in a higher order than existing ones
