Could a card be good enough to remain "pending to be considered" by pepescientists... but not cool enough to ever be selected? Is there a fakelimbo were fakerare vagabond? 😎

Afaik the longest pending time so far was about 9 months but varies a good bit. Can be days, weeks or months I guess, independent of whether a card is finally accepted or rejected.

Witness data is prunable and given default settings like Assume_Valid may not even be downloaded in the first place prior to a certain block or downloaded, checked and discarded. But every node, pruned or otherwise must keep the full UTXO set in memory. Forever. Now that is persistence of data. -
