    Good read.

Counterparty drama is the same as watching a bunch of regulars at a dive bar, fighting over their ex-girlfriend; while she’s busy giving away free head in the bathroom.
  • @BrrrGuy #12832 12:02 PM, 05 Nov 2024
Pretty one-sided and easy to cherry pick things that have been said over the years to support a specific narrative.

I haven’t replied because I don’t think it’s worth my time bickering over He said she said crap anymore🤷🏻‍♂️

I stand behind the decisions I have made in counterpary, and anyone who actually wants to know the truth is able to by reviewing chat logs at j-dog.net/archive and come to their own conclusions.
  • @c0rnh0li0 #12833 03:15 PM, 05 Nov 2024
    That’s what I did 🤷
  • @codythecampbell #12834 03:49 PM, 05 Nov 2024
All I know is I can’t be bothered right now to even. Onboard or recommend anything in counterparty world because it’s so fuckky and everyone is infighting
    It’s embarrassing lol
    Honestly
I hope the all the devs could go eat some mushrooms and go for a walk lol 😂
Everyone feels the unsecure uncertain vibes and that just not good for growth
  • @codythecampbell #12835 03:51 PM, 05 Nov 2024
I’m sure it will all work out
  • @BrrrGuy #12836 07:24 PM, 05 Nov 2024
I have no intention of continuing to fuel unnecessary drama in this channel by arguing points, which I’ve already been made over the past three weeks.

My intention , as it was two weeks ago when I announced I would be supporting both versions of the ledger, was to let people know of my plans before taking action.

I have now clearly clarified that unless origin dispenser functionality is added back, I will be adding replay protection to counterparty classic to permanently sever the ledgers.

I have work to do .

I hope everyone has a nice day and gets outside and touches some grass 👍🏻
  • @BrrrGuy #12837 07:26 PM, 05 Nov 2024
FYI... i'll be adding replay protection to "Counterparty Classic" in the coming week or so... At least then the ledgers will be permanently forked and txs generated on one ledger will not effect the other.
  • @XJA77 #12838 07:27 PM, 05 Nov 2024
will classic continue on the 9.6.2 then? or are you evaluating to increase the version to get some of the beneffits in performance?
  • @BrrrGuy #12839 07:32 PM, 05 Nov 2024
If the community wants improvements, they can request them and we can come to consensus and fund and develop those improvements... first and foremost would be a. Adding taproot support to benefit from cheaper txs.. b. Replacing addrindexrs with a component with a MUCH smaller footprint.... Javier has written an incredible piece of software for XChain Platform xchain-address-indexer which is much faster than addrindexrs, and has a much smaller footprint.... and doesn't require relying on external APIs or components like Counterparty 2.0's plan to replace addrindexers with electrum.
  • @XJA77 #12840 07:33 PM, 05 Nov 2024
electrum is cool sir well maintained and with tons of functions
  • @XJA77 #12841 07:33 PM, 05 Nov 2024
    but okey got your point
  • @BrrrGuy ↶ Reply to #12840 #12842 07:33 PM, 05 Nov 2024
indeed... but it is also an external component which could go down and require maintenance... I prefer installing the full stack to run CP in a simple to use fednode 🙂

    forwarding here this question
  • @XJA77 #12844 07:34 PM, 05 Nov 2024
@uanbtc will you be implementing the replay protection JDog has announced for next week? Just wondering if we’re going to end up with 3 ledgers.
  • @reinamora_137 #12845 07:34 PM, 05 Nov 2024
Ahh I’m having a laugh. The argument of src-20 was database bloat and shitty performance of 9.6 that needed to be fixed. and now you’re effectively doubling the disk usage by running two nodes and holding onto the poor performance characteristics in 9.6.
  • @BrrrGuy #12846 07:34 PM, 05 Nov 2024
But to be clear, my intention is to stay focused on XChain platform and building that out... not maintaining counterparty classic... however, if there is a need to maintain it or add updates, I can do so.
  • @XJA77 #12847 07:35 PM, 05 Nov 2024
engine of XChain platform is BTNS right? and BTNS runs on top of broadcast, will the broadcast be on the new prefix?
  • @BrrrGuy ↶ Reply to #12845 #12848 07:35 PM, 05 Nov 2024
That is just your opinion sir... and lets keep this chat focused on dev and not personal attacks n other such nonsense... had enough of that in the past few weeks I think.
  • @BrrrGuy ↶ Reply to #12847 #12849 07:36 PM, 05 Nov 2024
If you have questions about BTNS, take it to the BTNS channel, as all questions have been answered there, and this is not the place to discuss BTNS. @BTNS420

Nah here is a great place to ask that question. I’d like to know too. So what’s the deal?
  • @ABlue0ne #12851 01:56 AM, 06 Nov 2024
As a tx type, broadcast has plenty of positive points.
  • @BrrrGuy #12852 04:06 AM, 06 Nov 2024
The question has been asked and answered in the BTNS channel, if you truly want the answer, you can just click the link and view the response… or continue to demand that it be answered here🤷🏻‍♂️
