Ok folks I think I have a basic manifesto that hopefully gives some idea of what fake rares are here:

First of all, This is a safe space for fake rares on xcp/btc.

Many years ago humans started issuing assets on Counterparty as names, weird art projects, fantasy football teams, magic-style trading cards and ultimately… rare as fuck frog memes, known to mankind as Rare Pepe.

In April of 2018 (I’m too busy to fact check exact dates so this may be a bit fake) the rare pepe scientists retired and left us with years of pondering what the next step in evolution is for frogs and dankness in general. After all, many pepes were left on the cutting room floor because they couldn’t get submitted in time (the rare Pepe scientist backlog was long by the end,) were rejected by scientists, or were just created pre- or post rare Pepe but still can be found to have appeal in some memetic way.

Important to note: ANY ASSET CREATED ON XCP THAT WAS NOT APPROVED BY THE RARE PEPE SCIENTISTS IS CONSIDERED A FAKE RARE.

EXAMPLE: IF BANkSY ISSUED AN XCP ASSET/ARTWORK AND IT WASNT IN THE RARE PEPE DIRECTORY THEN IT TOO IS FAKE.

Now, with the resurrection of xcp users, creators, collectors, and the newfound interest in BTC NFTs, electronic art transactions, and collectibles, some of us found it important to make sure more dankness can be preserved in a semi-tribute and spin-off to rare pepe.

We are working on a solution to curate some dankness.

Right now we plan to integrate the old fake rares as series 0
Series 1 will begin with FAKEASF asset and be dropped to all of the first 100 that posted their xcp address.

We are working on a mechanism to get cards in the directory. Right now the working idea is to issue 1000 FAKEASF. Distribute 10 to each member and then you would need to burn a card to enter it into the directory. This would reduce spam entrants and deflate the initial community card over time. Members can gift or sell the cards to their creator friends and help them issue fake rares as well.

Old time hindsight NFTs (shout to looney for that term) and such will fall under the same rules
