I cant believe people are still buying memecoins at all. I guess imagining yourself on a yacht is more powerful than imagining yourself broke. Or maybe since everyone is already pretty much broke, there is not much downside and only upside in their heads. I guess same reason poor people play the lottery. They have no business spending their money (that is already insufficient to pay their bills) on a lottery ticket, but the life of a debt slave is so depressing that even a 1 in 300,000,0000 chance of winning is better than their odds of getting ahead without the lottery.

Good point. I would say at least there is a functional company behind most stocks, but the reality is that the financials and performance of the company have little to do with the stock price and market cap. It's all media hype and market manipulation just like a meme coin.
