yes. to scale pixelart it needs to be done as a vector (actually or theoretically), because interpolation kills pixels.

yes. i understand. it does not have to be vectors, but if you increase pixel art without interpolation, as specifically limited index color palate in photoshop, it acts as vectors would.

but, if you take some compressed jpg/png and blow it up
irl canvas size, interpolation or not, the compression noise will be more apparent, horrendous even. -
