I can use vi.... but, I got spoiled when I started using pico/nano in the late 90s... haven't turned back since.... but I have had that same issue with forgetting to compile support for my network device into the kernel.... its a real pain.... back in the day compiling the kernel would take a long time and make my vaio heat up like crazy.... I would up putting my vaio in the freezer when it was compiling stuff to make it run faster.... looked pretty funny... network cable and power cable going into the freezer ๐
