you can send more BTC to your address like it requested... or you can export your private key from freewallet and import it into electrum and try to gather all your utxos by sending all your BTC from yourself back to yourself

could be you have BTC but it is all in a bunch of tiny utxos, making your transaction large, requiring a larger fee.... gathering your utxos will usually solve this issue

Thanks @AruAg and @J-Dog, I sent some BTC to the wallet and resolved the issue. Next time ill try the 'gathering the utxos' approach - never done that before but sounds like the best approach for retaining as much BTC as possible.
