ordinals are not really new object or asset the way other NFTs are, its like an actual satoshi that is being tagged with the data.

A database with balances is changed between address. An ordinal is a 'object' more to me since it is tied to a specific satoshi that can be tracked/proved

not to start, when are issused in a block. People have for example looked at the provience of the Nakamoto Card (RAREPEPE Series 1, Card 1) and assigned each on a number based on it's chain of custody history

but as far a I understand if you issuce 10 tokens and send out 5, the 5 remaining in the issuance wallet are not unqiuely identifiable or serialized
