Nope…. Javier and I put forth three different proposals in December to fix counterblock and counterwallet…. None of those three fixes were implemented, the issues with the suggestions were closed, and the narrative became that counterblock is broken forever and can never never parse again🤷🏻‍♂️

In 2014 and 2015 when counterpart launched coinmarketcap.com had a DEX tab on the counterparty page…. And you could see a ton of the various trading pairs on the DEX….. they saw how easy it was to integrate one platform and add Support for an infinite number of tokens and markets.

Then along came Ethereum, with its pumpy ICO and promise of being a global world computer that could handle anything…

Pretty quickly after that counterparty became “ too difficult to install and maintain”…. so away went all of the counterpart decks listings and up popped all of the Ethereum shit coin listings.🤷🏻‍♂️

Technically, not that difficult at all to integrate counterparty and every single DEX market pair into a site like coin gecko or coinmarketcap.com

It actually is a hell of a lot easier to run a counterparty node than running an Ethereum node, smaller footprint, less resource intensive, etc.

If counterpart ever happens to regain some portion of market share, then yes perhaps we will see DEX market pairs listed again🤷🏻‍♂️

Gotta have partially signed Bitcoin transactions to get on magic Eden…. And from what I’m seeing partially signed bitcoin transactions are not real high on the priority ist of counterpart developers right now.

fun fact…. You can also lose money on the dex using btcpay just like you can with “rugspencers”…

Once there is an order match on the decks for BTC, the buyer has 20 blocks to send a BTC payment in to get the tokens …. If they happen to send the BTC payment within those 20 blocks, but the transaction does not confirm before those 20 blocks, then the BTC goes to the seller and the buyer just loses his BTC and gets no tokens back from the DEX.

Again, don’t take what people feed you at face value…. Everyone is pushing their own narrative, which unfortunately can include misdirection, falsehoods, etc.

For some like myself, it is a group of people that have been using the platform for many years and should be consulted before changes are made.

I find it very interesting that a counterpart foundation has been started up with no discussion with the community has to whether or not they even want a foundation… no clarification on who will be on the foundation, how people get elected to the foundation, what it’s purposes are, etc.

We already have devs pushing for fees for new xcp functionality, them wanting to make burning XCP, calling it gas, an essential feature going forward

How much would it suck for new devs to implement PSBT and PSBT on UTXOs and the XCP fee imposed costs more than minting on Emblem or something lame like that

for anyone that didnt write down their 12 words there is a recovery tool that will retrieve them from your browser storage

there seems to be no reasoning to their fees logic..... want to integrate XCP fees more tightly into the usage of CP... yet remove XCP fees from subassets (something that has had fees since the beginning).... also seem to be OK with hosing the early XCP adopters... when I handed off control of the counterparty properties in January, I made it very clear that I would only ever consider forking the chain again under 3 extremely unlikely scenarios / changes.

1. Allow asset registrations shorter than 4 characters

2. Allow assets that begin with the letter A

3. Have another XCP Burn, or increase the supply of XCP.

I said these 3 changes would undermine the trust in the system, and would unfairly damage those who spent funds issuing assets names like XAPPLE, and would break the agreement that there would only ever be one burn, and that 4 letter asset names were the shortest allowed.

I was assured, by Adam, that those changes were not on their radar, and that I should not be worried about those changes.

Now it seems 1 and 2 are being discussed and slated for integration... so I imagine #3, another burn, or messing with supply of XCP is up next.

Funny how things change from "we are so grateful for keeping things alive, dont worry, we wont change the fundamentals" to "your a rogue toxic dev who is causing problems" within a few months. 🤷🏻‍♂️

XCP is janky from a tokenomics standpoint, just from how it was originally done.

I don't think most users now, would ask for more fees

IMO XCP is a bitcoin protocol... and XCP should only be used as an anti-spam mechanism, and only when on-chain fees do not cost enough to deter spam... so, while integrating the usage of XCP into more features would definitely pump my XCP bags, not something I think we should be doing. Time will tell how this all works out.
