just read some of this recent discussion - one thought regarding metrics to assess how liquid a certain pepe is: analyzing the "deadness" of potentially circulating supply
ex: 100 issuance pepe has like ~20 moved in the past two years, other 80 are assumed dead but some formula can determine a deadness score for assumed liquidity. Gives more confidence to buyers for how much movement can be expected -

The formula I'm working on uses the pepeblocktime, i.e. how long it's been sitting in an address multiplied by the amount held. I then factor that by the addresses last debit. I still think some more factors need to be added and weighted, but we can get there.

you'd have to distinguish between the CARD and the WALLET
if one wallet holds CARD_A but that never gets sent but the wallet is otherwise very active, then that influnces the "potential" availability, but not the "actual" availability
I'm currently looking at three to four metrics to measure different aspects. not sure if that's overdoing it, but the point is to just get all the approaches down on paper and decide what's the best -

The pepeblocktime considers the time and amount that have been held in the address, whereas the debit simply considers the addresses activity.
One thing I've noticed are the emblem vaults throw a wrench into this, since they were recently credited, but there are no debits. -

I feel this doesn't reflect the "perceived" rarity... the fact that an active wallet holds a large supply is an issue here, that's why I am looking at "card sends over time" and "concentration of supply" as well

PEPEDISTRIBUTION = 38 (oh! must be very few wallets holding this large supply!)
PEPEVELOCITY = 0.00500715307 (transactions of asset per day)
...what would be the conclusion? -

The concentration of supply is captured with your PEPEBLOCKS calculation, but the card sends over time would be good to add. PEPEAIR is 96% held by the "shadow whale" who sent a MAGICPEPEYE 2 months ago, a RAREPEPE 6 months ago, and had created a bunch of sell orders over a year ago. So not very active, but present nonetheless.
However, when I factored in the debit, it gave me 0.833 for those 96 cards, whereas 1 held in a vault yields 1.0, and the 93 MYLADYPEPE burnt yields 93.0. The 96 held by the whale should have a higher factor than the 1 held in a vault. It shouldn't be as high as the cards burnt, so I need to find that middle ground with another factor. -

yeah very good point - any wallet active implies entire holdings are liquid. The main goal just being an easy format to vibe out what the supply of a card is generally doing. Would be interesting to see for PEPECASH specifically tbh, and likely more challenging

Is RAREPEPE rare? Yes and no.
It’s rare or almost impossible to obtain at $1k, but probably pretty easy to get at $30k.
And some cards will almost be unobtainable at any price.
Is it fair to say one card is more rare than another even though the less rare card is 50X the price.
I don’t think making it too complicated at the start will make sense, otherwise it will never get done. -

Conflated rarity based generative art is made for metrics. RarePepes are all individually made and wholly unique. Therefore a standard weight and measure will be less cut and dry and difficult to universally apply.
Not trying to be argumentative but want to point out that their system was designed to be indexed for value while RarePepe is more of an actual artform -

Rare Pepes are a bit too abstract to apply this simpleton method to. Hence, we need to formulate our own method. -
Yes. I really like where this new development is going because it aims to take on the problem of information asymmetry head-on by creating a standard weight and measure. There are considerable amount of variables that would hinder an easy formula with things such as dispensers and emblem vaults.
That all being said it would be nice to be able to boil down any work to a score. A numerical standard would be nice... such as percentage or a 0 to 5 scale -
absolutely agree, the task is to approximate the available metrics in an easily digestible way, using on-chain data to provide more of an "indication" for the perceived rarity of a PEPE:
- velocity / pepedays (how often does this move)
- supply (how much of the supply is potentially liquid)
- issuance (how "rare" is the card, how much is burned)
- concentration (how "distributed" is a card)
- ... any you can come up with
then, humans need to factor in
- what artist (MrHansel > Robness, kek?)
- what series (series 1 with same score as a series 32? what's the catch?)
- do I need this to complete a set?
aggregating them into one rarity score will not be an easy feat, but the community has made some effort to at least brainstorm as to what the different characteristics might be.

@digitalartchick @cyberh49 #rarepepes deserve a mention. They're OG'er. 1774 art cards created, so they'd have to be worth around $1m each to capture punks' cap. RAREPEPE fetches $15-20k at 300 issuance, so $4.5M+ there. Tokenangels sold off punks to get 1/1 HOMERPEPE for $320k in March. It's not far off.

However, the selecton is seemingly pretty random - my assumption (and you know what that makes me) is that a level or sublevel of the building with the rarest of the rarest (maybe built like a vault with a pretend huge-ass safe door) can attract those who are primarily after "prime" collectibles... dunno if that makes sense but if one were to explicitly point out the rarities and the year as well on those....?
