So regarding the rothko debate. I think theres an innocent explanation... As a creator myself I used to accidentally incorporate subconscious elements of package design around me and then realize it was actually a design element from something like my printer paper package or from the back of my cereal box.
But I thought it had totally been this brillaint idea that originated with me. If someone was going to steal the idea they would make like a different looking rothko with pepe colors not an almoste exact clone. I think it's possible someone sees a ton of submissions and then after months thinks they just came up with a brillaint idea that was really in the recesses of the subconscious.
The phenomenon is so predictable that darren brown did a video where he "programmed" a logo into two designers subconscious by showing them the logo in the background the whole drive over to the studio where he asked them to design a thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UpUcgPP-YY

I have an idea, how about in Curio Card #17b style both are included in 1 number, and it is after the fact established that there was a rule made that this could only happen once?
It really helps build lore and establish for the future what unique situations arise when curating a directory.
Also the free market would be able to decide which they prefer. It makes an awesome conversation piece, and it appears the currently accepted one is confident in its quality over the other. -

My two satoshis... I don't think just because there were two submissions with similar subject matter both should be accepted. I like the mystery of La Faka and I trust the powers-that-be to make appropriate choices. If they approved one and not the other than so be it. Just look at how this project has evolved. La Faka and his minions have brought Fake Rares to an incredible spot. If we start asking for redos or demanding answers then we may be going down a path of unhappiness. This is coming from somebody who has not had all of my submissions accepted... I certainly have empathy when it comes to this.
