I’ve been getting asked a lot the questions “do card holders own the commercial rights to their rares, fakes and danks”? I struggle to answer with any facts backing it up but generally say yes given the entire project is built on the foundation of true decentralization. Thoughts? -
I would think it is really up to the rights the artist grants. Rares, Fakes, Danks, etc. are collections that showcase individual art. They don’t claim to own anything. -
The answer is yes and no at the same time. -
I think for the most part, if you arent using it for profit - or passing it off as your own work - I think you are pretty free to do what you want. normally promotion of said assets is good for the owners and the holders.......
This is part opinion and part how ive seen work used by others in the space over the years -

The problem with allowing html is you give a lot of freedom, some that could be abused it’s always been my assumption that could get taken away because I was always surprised by the fact it was allowed - there is sufficient protection against anything really maliscouse but allowing htmls kind of endangers you of getting MySpaced. I would try to ensure you have a field specified for this in yer jsons, I use ‘video’

The way it works right now on dankset is any iframe/video/image in the description is pulled and stored as a media file. I don’t plan to change that. That dedicated fields in the json would make more sense to keep things structured and let description be what they should be

at some point in the future when a better enhanced asset spec is written, then YES, we will move to that format and will stop allowing people to "hack" images and content into the description field which is TECHNICALLY supposed to be only for text.... ppl just been doing it and getting away with it and i've been overlooking it... but ideally, don't want ppl to be stuffing random HTML content into webpages..... will keep supporting it tho until after we have a better enhanced JSON spec where people can specify additonal content like large images, videos, etc..... then will just support that new format and ppl will have a few months to migrate their JSON to the new format before I drop support for stuffing HTML into the description
