The images and videos that she produces combine imagined and theoretical concepts that are a part of an ongoing, internal dialogue. Historically Mohini is one of the early adopters of blockchain art, specifically in the category of independent female asian artists. In addition to her contributions as an artist she tends to experiment with every platform, testing their capabilities, reporting errors and providing valuable feedback on how to improve the user experience. Of considerable note is her involvement as a co-founder of the Trash Art movement that emerged in reaction to gated and curated blockchain art platforms. This movement gained momentum within the creator community, standing up for freedom of expression and a more spontaneous approach to art creation. ABOUT THE PIECE: Title: Sonic Odyssey: Modular Synthesizer Prototype Description: This unique electronic circuit consists of two oscillators. One oscillator operates at a frequency determined by the ratio of a potentiometer and capacitor, while the other oscillator modulates the power supply of the first oscillator instead of driving a speaker. These two layers of oscillators create an intriguing effect: the first oscillator tries to produce an audible tone, but its power supply is continuously varied. At times, the power is reduced significantly, and then quickly restored to its original level. This fluctuation in power generates a distinctive waveform. When these circuits are activated, they produce a series of unusual and captivating sounds. To the human ear, the resulting tones can be described as dynamic, unpredictable, and otherworldly. The shifting power supply adds an element of surprise and creates a fascinating auditory experience. Summary: In summary, my DIY modular synthesizer installation invites you to explore the world of sound manipulation and composition. From the interconnected oscillators to the dynamic potentiometer and the addition of a mixer with delay effects, this installation offers a platform for sonic experimentation and artistic expression. By crafting my own modular synthesizer, I have delved into the realm of sound exploration, blurring the lines between art and technology.
