as the size of the pool decreases the probability that transactions with lower fees will be included increases

Yeah it's difficult to say if they will solve it , it's already like bitcoin but of steroids when it comes to total blocksize and that isn't even with massively popular apps on it imagine it with just 4-5 popular apps blocks gonna be 10 or so times bigger

Then you have the smart contract problem, augur for example , you create a smart contract that pays out based on the result of a sports game, football or soccer or anything really anything that isn't directly tied to the security of a block chain.

How does that smart contract know the outcome of the sports game? A person has to tell it who won so it can pay out to the winner. So now instead of the raw power, security and math of the blockchain protecting you from malicious actions you have a single point of failure a single person can cause that smart contract to pay out incorrectly .

Augur tries to fix this with their own currency and methods of making the results more of a crowdsourced entry . The larger % of people who say if A or B won now decides what the smart contract does. Which while a hell of a lot better than a single point of failure on a potential single person it still has huge flaws and requires controls and restrictions be set in place and the power to overwrite decisions if someone tries to maliciously report the wrong results for profit. Giving someone or a few amount of people co trip over the system or at least pivatol parts of it

Yeah it is better compared to a single oracle but the added security opens up more possible attack vectors so while increasing security a bit in 1 respect you are open to a host of other problems and a economic model that ever so slowly overtime leads to centralisation
