A basic piece to the understanding is the Pepe meme itself. Until last year, people posted Pepe Memes all over the internet and told people not to steal them. But that happened to be kind of a joke as the digital artwork was represented only by the picture file itself, which could easily be copied and be stolen.
Our Pepe tokens were the gamechanger there as nobody can steal one of the Pepe tokens. They can steal the digital picture file, but not the token which proves ownership of the artwork. So this is basically one of the earliest use of blockchain for proof of ownership.
At the same time it's a great experiment to see how people valuate digital assets when scarcity is part of the game. Every game creator who thinks about trading digital goods should have a close look. -
