I've been working on a project that I had a couple back and forths with John about a while ago. Started resurrecting it last week since Rare Pepe was getting hot. Was looking forward to showing him the finished version. Really sad. I added this image in as a tribute. He was a guy that gave great energy and was a large part of why Rare Pepe is special.

Try updating to the latest freewallet.io desktop wallet version..... I switched from using public.coindaddy.io to using api.counterparty.io for API requests... might fix your issue... I know at times coindaddy's server is overloaded, so requests to addrindexrs can take a long time to reply, or timeout.... resulting in that "not enough balance" error message.

Also... it could be what @mnlclassic was saying about your UTXOs.... all BTC transactions use utxos (little bags of BTC)... it could be you have a bunch of utxos (little bags) and so in order to make a transaction, it is taking all those little bags of BTC... which is in turn making the BTC transaction larger, which then requires more BTC fees to cover the larger size..... It can be confusing and frustrating to newcomers and even old timers....... The easiest solution is to just send more BTC to the address, but if you keep getting this message consistently when you already have a balance that exceeds the amount your trying to use.... you might want to check how many utxos you have and try to gather them up into a single utxos.... so when you go to use your BTC in a transactions, your pulling out a BTC dollar and paying with that.... versus gathering up all your BTC pennies to pay for the transaction

The solution when you have a bunch of tiny utxos is to gather those utxos... you can do this by taking the private key from your address and then importing that private key into a BTC wallet like electrum..... then send ALL your BTC from your address back to your addres.... this will gather up all your tiny bags of BTC pennies into a single UTXO..... however, this gathering utxos transaction can be quite large... so best to gather UTXOs when BTC network is not really busy.... so you can pay reasonable-ish fees.
