The story is this. Back in early 2017, my co-developer and I started looking at Bitcoin and WebVR and sought to build a technology stack.
Rare Pepe was the most visual and interesting thing going at the time, so our target was to build a WebVR museum gallery building. The way the Rare Pepe Foundation curated for quality and basic specifications for the art was perfect for being able to incorporate these assets. -

We took the version we had to RareAF 1.0 in Jan 2018 and showed a few of y'all. Unfortunately, that was the peak of the bubble insanity and a number of factors led us to stop working on it at that point.
First, we were pulled in other directions with other projects. Second, the WebVR stack was very very cumbersome to build stuff with, so it was a lot harder than anticipated. Third, we kind of realized monetizing it was going to be a problem. Fourth, we kind of realized the UI limitations of the technology at Layer 1. Fifth, outside of the Rare Pepe crowd, the other 'CryptoArt' people seemed to be going in different directions, which played out to become the NFT thing now. -
So it sat until now.

With Rare Pepes trading again, and having regretted a couple years of never doing anything with the tech, we decided to spend a few days getting it buffed up and online so people can at least see it.
A few of the higher concept items got chopped out since we don't have the time to finish them. Also, there's a few bugs. The VR piece probably isn't going to work, mobile doesn't work very well either - but 3D mouse-and-keyboard WASD seems pretty good. Chrome works a bit better than Firefox for framerate and bugs. -

We met in the audience. Great idea that i saw having more opportunity than simply pepe. I was not sure how to get ahold of you or who you where... but i had faith that we would figure it out eventually. When i left the first Rare.af having just sold FRESHPEPE.print (physical nft) in nyc i was inpsired to do a namerush on cryptoart domains. The crown jewel was the reservation of artMuseum.io and the founding of the burn address 1CryptoArtMuseumProperty8887NmZWB as a museum... which was then implemented in bitcorn submission process. SO, in some ways, your work and sharing at rare.af also inspired or lead to bitcornmuseum.org

Just a suggestion (I know I LOVE it wen people give me unsoliticted feedback... *read sarcasm*)..... but, just thinking that if you could create individual rooms for each address... so people could hit a URL on your site and then instantly be in a room looking at all the cards they own.... would be very cool... as it is, VERY VERY cool to walk around and see all the cards... but, IMO could go viral if people could plug in their address and be transported to their own personal gallery.... technically prolly would need to just be one big room with lots of space for lots of cards on wall.... all requests for a specific gallery for an address would just load the user into this standard room, then populate their artowkr on the walls

yeah, we definitely wanted that feature and did start building tech to start randomly generating museum layouts - can basically build infinite space and match space to any query results. Or do something more user-custom.
The problem was getting the browser renderer to behave and undraw off-screen stuff keep the framerates up. Game engines do stuff like that, but for WebVR, you have to hand-code that shit and it was just too much work for the time and resources we had available. -

It makes it potentially less rare if it’s divisible for example a small shard could be shared with thousands of people and the rest remain with only one but the possibility of holders really becomes humungos , just my own Personal take on divisibles. When it comes to ownership most people (mega assumption here) just want it to display In their wallet so then In Reality the cost of ownership is potentially very low too. So inexpensive and less scarce. Yes you can easily argue a lot of ways On this though and I can see all sides of the arguments too

yeah, there's a freeze bug on opening the door sometimes. Unfortunately, it's a bug with A-Frame that we can't easily fix.

Chrome or Chromium is definitely better behaved than Firefox for this. Not sure about Safari or Edge, never really tried it on our end.
