Hello Al, thank you so much for your deep reply to my concerns two weeks back...
I've been meaning to come back and express my profound appreciation for all the amazing work you've put into pepe.wtf.
I sometimes see shadows where there are none and I was having a dark week, so I apologise for suggesting there was some ulterior motive at play for not fixing that XCP issue.
It just played into a theory that I thought I'd seen a few other signs of... I've set aside that line of thought as totally unhelpful to me or anyone else.
The fixes to look up historical XCP pricing appears to have helped make a lot of asset histories look a lot more like I'd expect them to be.
I think there are some past OpenSea sales missing from some assets, but I haven't gone back to make a specific list of things I think I noted in flying through different assets.
You're quite right to take the most balanced approach you can to supporting historical assets and new collections.
A rising tide does lift all ships.... and while we may be on an ebb tide right now across most Counterparty assets, I believe that when the Ordinals hype dies down a little and things settle and the air clears somewhat, we'll find that more and more collectors will find their way to both OG historical Counterparty assets like Rare Pepes and SOG and also the more recent collections that are noteworthy.
I'm not too excited to see Ethereum minted assets coming into the mix personally, there are already hundreds if not thousands of venues that can showcase those, but I'm not paying the server bills or the development budget, so that's "tough biscuit" as far as my opinion goes.
You're right about the more eyeballs, if the extra focus attracts more attention to WTF that can only be good for all the Counterparty assets showcased there. -

Thanks for your message, I have only gratitude to all the pepe community, it's been a year and a half of lots of work but also lots of fun and incredible people.
Regarding Ethereum I can totally understand that it may be felt as dillutive to the counterparty collections, but I really think it adds. From one side I see more value in bitcoin than ethereum no matter what from a store of value perspective so counterparty assets are not going anywhere, but also see ethereum as something that, being there, if collectors/artists/builders can be closer than further they will eventually discover what has been built in here, and they will definitely appreciate. I'm minting a piece on eth likely this weekend that is my humble tribute to how I see the rare pepes spirit is, minted out of the pond but hopefully showing people what's in here
I also think this year things like ordinals catched attention that will end up in here (not a fan on how they looked down at the whole bitcoin and counterparty community as if nothing was here before ordinals), and also something being brewed by some counterparty people right now (one of them is called Mike and works from the space) is gonna bring more actity to counterparty.
Always felt that ordinals would end up wanting to invent counterparty, well... maybe STAMPS shows them that there is no need to invent anything 🤌 -
