Hey everyone. We decided to open source rarepepeworld.com.
Its back up on a cheap server and the code is on github. it is a rare pepe bitcoin explorer that can be run with a full node, or off xchain api. Can be adapted to support any xcp assets and probably stamps and ordinals as well.
Needs work however and a better server to run off, but we are moving on to other things, in general. Will merge commits etc if they make sense.

"default" value for multsig outputs is 7800 sats each... so that can add up pretty quick... latest version of freewallet allows you to adjust the dust level down, and shows you accurate fees (I decode the raw tx and calculate total amount of BTC used, then convert that number to USD and confirm both BTC amount and USD amount with user)

Screenshots are nice, but they are not great... transaction hashes are better and a CLEAR explanation of the issue... not 10 transactions and "funds gone"... a specific Tx wher eyou say "I thought X was going to happen, but Y happened"... and a tx hash so I can verify

You fell for the most obvious scam possible, didnt even bother to search twitter or the web to see that the site was a scam site, sent it to a buyer and told him "he could verify". Then when I told him it was a scam and he told you, you still kept interacting with the scammer and tried to make a deal with the scammer for ANOTHER buyer on it.

If you're going to be brokering OTC deals with escrow you MUST follow a strictly fool proof procedure EVERY SINGLE TIME and do not vary it.
Especially NO FUNDS to sellers until the asset is delivered to the buyer.
You also need to have back up contingencies if something happens to you while funds or assets are in your custody.
If you don't have that, you're just LARPing around. -

It's one thing when you're getting scammed yourself, which he has been before (which sucks but is on him alone). It's another when you're putting other people's money at risk (and large amounts at that), and continue to do so when you're told point blank it's a scam.
He can be a good dude all he wants (being part of a pump and dump shitcoin notwithstanding I guess?), but it's a bad look for rare pepes and will continue to be as long as he keeps spam messaging people, misrepresenting deals, and falling for obvious scams.
Ofc, it's crypto, so anything goes, and it will continue, and he'll just say sorry and do it all again so I know I'm wasting my breath here lol. -

I think people should use the btc dex more often. The intermediary can organize the buyer and seller and the time of transaction. Both parties can go on their wallets at the determined time and create the buy / ask and boom done. Finder’s fee paid and everyone is happy. Impossible to get scammed with a btc / asset dex order. If it’s ever front run like people can do with a dispenser the order will just stay open and can be canceled by the creator and refunded automatically minus tax fees. Am I missing anything in this? -

a true OTC 3rd party can be trusted by BOTH sides. Both sides send you the Naka and the mETH. Only when both sides have sent it to you it’s a deal. Having the buyer take all the risk isn’t really offering a service.
