Video, Hi-Res, etc... a lot of these things were built for Xchain exclusively over a number of years. In fact, for many years tokens showed nothing at all until JDog added that functionality at the platform level.
So its understandable that some people are under the impression that this is all baked into the Counterparty protocol itself. Unfortunately, there's never really been a singular standard that's been adhered to for every asset, so we have a vast history of different implementations/hacks (mostly catering to Xchain/Tokenscan display). But even today, some formats like OLGA-Stamps do not display on Tokenscan. So its important to understand the difference between a Counterparty explorer and the art that's been "attached" to those assets through methods of social consensus.
The Horizon team has worked hard to support many of these legacy formats. For instance, most Rare Pepes contain no on-chain pointers at all. In the case of Stamps, Stampchain provides API access to make it easy for explorers to render Stamps without having to do the heavy-lifting of decoding the base64.
I'm not privy to what Horizon may (or may not support) in the future but I just wanted to provide a bit of background in terms of the challenges of supporting many ad-hoc formats spanning thousands of assets. -

Yup. If I recall correctly, the very idea of having a separate "Hi-Res" version came about from EasyAsset.art. It just wasn't a thing up until that point and isn't part of any standard or CIP.

Same. I even did some crazy stuff like injecting CSS and JavaScript into Xchain pages through the Coindaddy service to theme the asset pages. But then it broke (rightfully so) when JDog clamped down on the security.
If you'll recall Hi-Res images used to show on Xchain/Tokenscan below the low-res version until Jdog changed things and now Hi-Res is relegated to a text link at the bottom of the asset page. All I'm getting at is that anything that is "outside of the protocol" is like building a house on sand.
I do hope compatibility increases, don't get me wrong. -
I think the hi-res - low-res situation is more of a project JSON thing. He chooses to show the project curators jsons for accepted cards
Hires with easyasset seems to work fine if not in a curated collection last I checked -
basically so if a project card gets changed it shows the original low-res accepted curated version instead
another reason that most people get confused if changing to new issuances while in an accepted collection -

Here's another example of how tricky some of this stuff is. I'll preface this to say that its just an example (don't mean to shit on Tokenscan as I'm sure there are plenty of counter examples on Horizon).
A high-profile collection is the Ghostface set from Fake Rares. When it originally launched, it worked seamlessly on Xchain (art with music playback). Now, I only see the art and if I want to hear the accompanying music I have to click a link that takes me away from the page: https://tokenscan.io/asset/FAKETONY
But on Horizon, it playsback on the same page: https://horizon.market/assets/faketony?from=1M&tab=buy"e_asset=BTC&type=swap&offset=0&limit=10&view=info&mode-tab=details
Also, before Xchain revamped its layout, it also exposed links buried within the JSON that lead to the music ownership rights that were bestowed upon the holders. Now the only way to get to that, is to parse through the JSON file and unmangle the encoded URL.

My personal opinion (and I just speak for myself) is that its a bit of a nothing burger. If you want to store stuff onchain, you're likely to use the witness for the 75% discount. If you're a Stamps maniac, like me, then you won't want to use OP_RETURN because it can be pruned.

Presently, only possible through Horizon Market, I think.
The commission is a portion of each mint delivered in the token itself. You can also add an xcp charge for each mint. You can also set a BTC royalty payment for resales. -

Announcing Counterparty Core v11.0.2
This release fixes a regression in transaction handling whereby empty descriptions could be incorrectly encoded into issuance transactions of various types (including locking, e.g.) and addressed a bug whereby using the verbose=true parameter could cause the node API to hang. This version also introduces a transaction validity flag and new API filters, improving clarity and queryability; it (finally) adds Bitcoin Core cookie authentication (which is now the recommended method) and updates the official Docker image to use Alpine rather than Ubuntu, which reduces the image size from 1.1 GB to 126 MB.
