To quickly summarize my current concern: *We have someone (NB) curating a list of verified sellers. *We have a list of verified sell orders (dispensers). BUT *We do not have someone (NB) curating a list of verified buyers. *We do not have a list of verified buy orders (agreement to buy at a certain price until a certain date or until the order is cancelled). I can't prove that this one-sided arrangement (all info collected and publicized is sellers and sell orders) is causing the downward price spiral in XCP, but I strongly believe it contributes to it. Why not also collect a list of verified buyers and buy orders to create a balanced order book?

My post was not meant to be a criticism of you personally, but to bring attention to the ongoing issues regarding trading mechanisms for XCP.
I just checked via the Horizon market explorer, and the vast majority of the XCP->BTC trades appear to be going through dispensers rather than atomic swaps, so I'll just touch on the issues with dispensers (apologies for the repetitiveness).
Centralization
Having a single volunteer manually curate lists of sell orders is rather "distant" from decentralization.
Buy/sell order asymmetry
Only sell order information is visible to the user/trader/investor.
Verified buyer list
I only touched on this to highlight the issue of asymmetry. Rather than expanding the current manually curated lists of orders, I hope that someone will come up with a decentralized, intuitive, and user-friendly way of trading XCP<->BTC.
(I can already imagine someone responding, "why don't you develop it yourself?" —- unfortunately I don't have that skill set. Under his stewardship, XCP witnessed the creation of legendary collections such as Spells of Genesis, Rare Pepes, and Fake Rares – even my Bitcoin Heads and Leftist Tears were created when he was the lead developer and he provided some useful advice. Today, J-Dog builds the FreeWallet.io Counterparty wallet and the TokenScan.io blockchain explorer (formerly Xchain.io). He maintains opinions which diverge from those of current maintainer Adam Krellenstein (who joined the show in S16 E14) and even claims that the Counterparty protocol was forked at block 866000.

inscription is just a boolean that defaults to true, so you don't need to pass it. mime_type lets you specify the type for your data so an Ordinals indexer will render it properly. if mime_type=image/png then your description will be rendered as a PNG
