FYI, there appear to be no sanity checks on fairmints... I tried to create a tx to "fairmint" 5000.00000000 of MINTS, when the max_mint_per_tx is set to 1000.00000000.... and the CP API generated the transaction without throwing any errors, as one would expect when you try to generate a transaction which ultimately will fail..... in the past, if someoen tries to do a SEND for more than they have in their wallet, or do a SWEEP when they dont have any XCP, the API has sanity checks in place, to throw an error, and prevent the user from generating a tx which will ultimately fail (ie, the user wastes BTC on a tx fee for no reason)....

@teysol Please create a github issue to add sanity checks to fairmints... or explain why adding some basic checks to prevent users from generating txs which will fail is not something you feel the dev team should be adding to CP. Thank you

It doesn't look like minting requires XCP right now.
If XCP were used as a variable gas fee, which would increase during heavy use, it seems like that would be a great deterrent to excessive txs that overload the network. -

Tokenscan is lagging because the CP API is parsing slow, etc… nothing to do but just be patient for improvements n more servers to be spun up to keep api.counterparty.io up👍🏻

FYI... unable to use full asset name in fairmints like you can with sends and opening dispensers, etc... gotta use numeric name currently for subassets.... When you guys get a chance, pls update fairmints to support allowing users to specify the full asset name as the asset rather than throwing an error... there is an open mint for PEPEEMBRYO.FAIRSTAMP... but you get an error if you try to mint using that name and instead can only mint if you give the asset name as A95428957052135589

freewallet uses public.tokenscan.io for the API, which is on 10.5.0-alpha2... which is supposed to auto-convert normal BTC sends into dispense transaction... so in theory, should be working fine... but if you did 2 sends from within freewallet using public.tokenscan.io and had issues, sounds like maybe that is not the case. the devs will prolly dig into it when they got a lil time 🙂

FYI... just saw a tx that was generated in freewallet, buying from a dispensers, making an auto-donation, and the dispense triggered fine... Which seems to tell me that Buying from dispensers in freewallet using public.tokenscan.io via a BTC send seem to be working as they are supposed to (request to send BTC auto-converted into new dispense message).

the txs in question triggered a dispense on xcp.dev... which tells me it was just a normal BTC send.. not the new dispense message (no op_return in the tx)

i thought you couldn't buy from a dispenser with a raw btc send. it had to go through the compose dispense trx.

Tokenscan last I heard was on alpha 2. Others are on alpha 3 so there are some oddities which should be aligned hopefully today with a full release from the CP guys.

I'm playing with the utxo attach function and some questions arises for me.
Should we standardize a value for counterparty utxos?
Should we use 546 like ordinals and runes or would be better to go for another number (eg:547) to avoid confusions and to be able to easy recognize them.
Maybe it doesn't matter very much and is up to the platform that uses it but I believe standardize them is a good practice, want to know your thoughts -
IMO 547 is a good option but is true many wallets has methods to avoid accidental assets spent setted in 546 sats so maybe 546 is a better option

Seems like MPMA sends are broken in the /v2/ API... as the documentation seems to indicate that destination is a single address. Using the /v1/ API I am able to pass an array for destination, asset, quantity, memo, and memo_is_hex... Because the POST request encodes all the params/data using JSON... However in the new /v2/ API endpoint, which requires the use of GET, I am unable to pass an array for these fields.

Another issues with MPMA sends using the /v2/ API... I am passing quantity and getting an error... passing in SATOSHI format... so for 1.12345678, I am passing 112345678... for non-divisible, I am passing 1.... Yet this is resulting an an error

Hello. I'd like to set up a counterparty testnet node. I followed the doc but in the end of building docker, it showed that:

The above referenced issue prevents exchanges from batching their withdraw requests into an MPMA send and referencing a withdraw id# for each send. Hope this issue gets fixed in the next release 👍️️️️️️

Why can't these orders with matching buying and selling prices be executed?

Using BTC on the DEX is a pain in the ass because Bitcoin can’t be escrowed by the protocol… the orders can match, but then the buyer has 20 blocks to send the BTC for the order match to execute… the only wallet which supports this is FreeWallet and auto-BTCpay.
This is more of a question for the main counterparty channel as it’s not development related and has been asked an answered many times in the main channel -
Cool I guess you should inform the Bitcoin developers to change the protocol then… or threatened to sue them like you’ve tried to threaten both Adam and I.

Well, I guess rather than address the issue with not being able to send multiple memos in an MPMA as we have for years, the solution is to close my issue, tell me to use the DEPRECIATED v1 API, and talk about how things will be better in the future.

Your barking up the wrong tree bro... No one is forced to make donations, or misled in any way, before anyone uses FreeWallet, they have to agree that they have seen and read these ADS disclosures, which specifically state :
- ADS is enabled by default on all transactions
- ADS can be disabled entirely
- You DO NOT need to donate in order to use this wallet
Stopped listening once I heard that nonsense... If I was doing anything wrong or illegal, I would have the DOJ and/or Attorney general coming after me... Have never had either say anything, and in fact, they have reached out a couple times to request information on specific users/transactions (which I can not provide, since I collect no user information, and am an open-source non-custodial wallet)... So I'm in good standing with all the appropriate law enforcement agencies, local, state, and federal.

Yep... thats what happens when you rage-quit the channel... the come back and join and immediately post some large post with links... the bots meant to prevent abuse and spam kick in and auto-delete your messages... Maybe consider sticking around n not just joining when you want to post something and then leaving again... or you'll continue to have the same issues... Same problem happened for both you and Dime... both quit in solidarity with adam... then both re-joined and got limited by the anti-spam bots automatically.

LOL... so the instructions say you can download the bootstrap to avoid a reparse... and yet, even after downloading the bootstrap a rollback is triggered and reparse required..... Guess someone forgot to update the version number in their database to 10.6 before releasing the bootstrap.... Something that would have been caught, if testing was done... but what do I know 😂️️️️️️

As you can see.. I stop all the dockers... do git pull which shows that i'm already on the latest version.. then bring up the mainnet (as the upgrade instructions say)... and PRESTO.. still on 10.5

yes I have command line tools installed, just dont view logs that way... but here ya go... according to what I see, it says the repo is on 10.6... get I have not seen the docker pull new images like upgrades in the past ... just start up and pull the bootstrap

looks like was still a counterparty-server instance running even tho all containers were stopped... WTF?

that was because I still had testnet running... I shut it down right after that command and it shut down the newtork

newway... that counterpart-server instance I just killed was from the instance I had just spun up

just did same thing... shut down everything.. made sure not counterparty processes running.. brought network back up via docker compose --profile mainnet up -d ... still on 10.5

also FYI.. the official install instructions need to be updated... they say to do git clone via git@ .... which can fail if the user has not setup git properly

Sorry I was confused about the database version not being updated when in fact, it was my parser which was not on 10.6... my mistake in that instance.

I am the former protocol developer, and I know what I am talking about.. and have created github issues to report problems which Adam and his team of devs have failed to find and fix before release.... but this back and forth is pointless and just wasting time from the inevitable.. back to coding.

Yes, then they bailed for the last 9 years, where John, Devon, Javier, and myself have maintained it, and wrote additional features which happened to become the most primary used features (dispensers).... yet, upon return, the devs decided to focus on ripping out these features rather than just focusing on adding additional functionality (we still have addrindexrs, and you guys have new features, but have crippled dispensers)

Anyway, spin it however you want, this was all avoidable... I didn't create the fork, the lack of testing to make sure all worked as promised did, all I am doing is showing users both versions of the ledgers and allowing them to interact with the version they want

Thanks, unfortunately I had to stop working on xchain-indexer for the last 2 weeks to try and keep my stuff running on "Counterparty 2.0"... once I release both versions, looking forward to going back to working on my own stuff and not having to engage with teh core devs anymore, like I have enjoyed doing for the last few months.... the silence was peaceful 🙂

Might seem to you and some others like this is some battle, to me it is not really that way... still happy to have Adam in teh Channel and have admin powers, when he re-joined earlier this week I gave him back admin powers... Only thing is, dont want to be kicked and muted and gaslight like I have been... someone needs to be able to hold ppl accountable... If I was going over the line in asking questions about VC funding and transparency, I think ppl in the channel like @hodlencoinfield @jp_janssen would have called that type of bad behavior out.

No one has stated anything about using the old version... the current version of FreeWallet is on Counterparty 2.0 (10.6)... and I have said multiple times when I put out support for both ledgers, it will be very clear what version your viewing/using.... YOU and Adam and team are jumping to conclusions about things, and jumping the gun, calling my explorer and wallets unsafe, before I have relased anything in support of multiple ledgers... the Bias towards your own tools is clear

Yep... thats what happens when you rage-quit the channel... the come back and join and immediately post some large post with links... the bots meant to prevent abuse and spam kick in and auto-delete your messages... Maybe consider sticking around n not just joining when you want to post something and then leaving again... or you'll continue to have the same issues... Same problem happened for both you and Dime... both quit in solidarity with adam... then both re-joined and got limited by the anti-spam bots automatically.
