Canvas art seems rare for her, but tokenizing her art would fit her themes. Nice buy!

XCP
-
-
nobody here is worried about xcp? all these projects work thanks to counterparty
-
-
-
locked and loaded
-
Yeah
-
before creating a card had a higher cost in $, only that, and I think it is more striking for the public to be able to change their benefits of the cards in the exchanges XCP / BTC
-
isn't mandelduck doing something with xcp and lightning?
-
and of course, buying cards with xcp was much more expensive, I bought cards for only 1 xcp costing 10 €
-
I just want to know what the problem is, I've been investigating and I've found some legal problems with XCP in the US
-
Agreed
-
we should think about decentralized exchanges and atomic swaps
-
Komodo is making great advances
-
🙂👍
-
I think it's just pricing. From what I understand enchanges have more overhead providing xcp on their platforms than with other coins, and it's not well traded, so it just comes down to numbers.

Xcp/btc pair trades on counterparty dex, sort of

Mooncorn

Or it ought to be for the price on this gd train
-
I dunno what to do about XCP dying guys. I’m gonna maintain what I have for the sake of the corn. But it appears XCP is sailing into the sunset.
-
Like I dunno what happens when XCP is not on exchanges. No idea what happens next.
-
Xcp has been dying for at least 3yrs
-
“Dying”
-
just dex
-
It’s like getting your water cut off
-
It might put downward pressure on all XCP trading pairs, as a means to get XCP.
-
Xcp will have the same liquidity sources as pepecash
-
Or it might raise XCP price because of friction to get it in BTC, albeit at lower volume.
-
Will def raise price
-
You can see it by just looking at price by exchange
-
It looks to me the only thing XCP should do is try to get back on a big exchange.
-
Cornance or bust
-
Really shitty overall though, I’m annoyed that mETH heads are correct
-
What were they right about?
-
Schnorr might be the final nail. Bitcoin will sort of leap forward and Counterparty will go ka-thud
-
What does that have to do with liquidity?
-
That $28B is greater than $2m.
-
It’s not a comment on liquidity.
-
Sure, eth has had a higher price for years
-
I don’t think anyone was ever debating that
-
I looked at chain migration, but idk how feasible it is. Kind of a complex thing to pull off.
-
I watched pepecash pump to $90mil MC with just tux and zaif, it’s the Wild West out there, counterparty doesn’t work any better or worse not being on trex or polo
-
Is bitcorn on tux or zaif?
-
Nah
-
I’m gonna have to move to Hong Kong or something stupid and go full expat
-
Make a binance-but-for-the-xcp
-
Hong Kong is pretty nice
-
Was xcp a scam?
-
You should move to Isle of Man and make a bitcorn-sino
-
Gonna have a hard time getting any exchange to list anything xcp-related now
-
I’m interested in hearing though what people think should be done
-
I asked Richie if delisting was regulatory related, and he said he couldn't tell me if he knew...
-
Let’s pump up the btc / newbitcorn pair
-
It’s no harder now then before
-
ill work on getting it listed
-
And it was pretty damn hard before!
-
Exactly
-
Maybe its rebrand time. Like bow mastercoin became omni
-
I've been thinking about your 3-letter asset CIP, and I think it would be good to incorporate a Digital ID aspect to inroduce a form of KYC.
-
Yessss
-
XYZ
-
LLL assets
-
Xcp.io
-
I got them domains son
-
Vaporware for the vaporwaves
-
-
What’s that mean? I’m not sure what you mean.
-
I mean Microsoft is introducing a new form of digital ID using Bitcoin, which could be incorporated into XCP to comply with SEC regs for certain assets
-
Did j-dog approve LLL assets yet?
-
Address re-use in XCP goes a long way with regards to KYC.
-
no, I asked him about it a week or so ago, and he referred me to an old counterpartytalk post where he laid out his thoughts
-
Does anyone know IF there are actually regulatory issues with XCP?
-
LLL is probably not enough juice now
-
True
-
Of course
-
LLL was a centralized exchange pump play haha
-
There are peeps in XCP who have the privilege of talking to the exchanges
-
Is the the multi-send thing? Is it gambling related?
-
Who is in charge?
-
I don't know!!!
-
Aren’t there only a couple people in charge of this decentralized project?
-
Honestly, if someone were to just create a legal entity and claim they controlled counterparty then for all intents and purposes they would
-
If you have an open source coin that’s not on exchanges. The stronger incentive, I think, is to fork that shit and get it newly listed vs fight to get it relisted.
-
Oh that...
-
hmmm...
-
It’s probly a pretty lucrative idea
-
Actually
-
I dunno what magic people think a foundation would do
-
You just need capital
-
To buy yourself onto an exchange
-
And a “legitimate” organization
-
It’s just lead time and overhead to action
-
If you have action you want to take just skip to the action
-
It’s harder to do that now without exchanges to take positions on
-
Better to accumulate OTC then market make when listed on binance or wherever
-
Fork XCP, rebrand maybe (I am biased against because I have XCP domains), initiate new burn. Take some % of the burn and create a DAO-like fund. Use blockchain voting to spend the fund.
-
New XCP
-
Like new coke
-
XCP Classic TM
-
Any idea without pamp central to idea is dead in the blockchain water
-
It seems to me if the dex was just a little bit better and had more XCP-BTC volume happening, things would be fine
-
If XCP was a pool people wanted to swim in, it would be better already.
-
This is the reality. The market hath spoketh.
-
Well it is getting to be summertime
-
I’m down for a pool party
-
I'll bring the kool-aid
-
Ironically most of the eth rare art projects are just limping along too
-
You know
-
Maybe the solution is for us to just move to Moldova and spin up our own exchange
-
I’ll let my wife know to start packing
-
Still will get busted for not KYCing US peeps!
-
If there were demand sufficient to justify an exchange we would have that exchange
-
But instead we have two delistings and tux whatever that is
-
ETH Art is limping along but at least it’s on a superior network
-
Maybe Liquid is the best bet currently for tokens on bitcoin.
-
Has anyone looked at Enjin? It's bumping along pretty well. Items are backed by enjin, etc.
-
Schnorr and scriptless scripts is probably the best onchain stuff to research and build on future wise

-
You were studying Forkonomics Holden, what’s your take on XCP forks
-
I need to chat with wassim about them, I think it’s a new type of fork he didn’t cover in his paper
-
2nd layer coin forks
-
That’s cool
-
Have you read the paper?
-
Do you think a fork should validate onchain txs and then activate at a block height. Or is it sufficient to start with a snapshot and just say, “this snapshot was taken at this blockheight using this software version.”
-
I started to, but I need to be in like a very specific state of mind to power through any kind of paper like that
-
You mean for spinning up a new node on the fork?
-
When I spun up my latest fednode for the segwit stuff, it grabbed most of its data from someone’s AWS folder.
-
Snapshot with the ability to go back and validate if you want is probly the best way to go
-
In Counterparty, none of the burn txs are validated it’s all a CSV file.
-
I think that’s probly fine
-
Yep
-
Which is pretty interesting because it wouldn’t be too difficult to calculate burns
-
It injects trust but reduces technical complexity a lot
-
Does it?
-
(Reduce complexity a lot)
-
Maybe it’s for rounding errors or something
-
Ya because you don’t need to code all these different versions of validation at different block heights
-
RVN started listed on one two minority exchanges and otc sheet. Only several months after launch a listing request was sent to trex and it was listed not just on bittrex but upbit too with a KRW pair, an exchange which never listed XCP (Korean markets account for large amount of trading vol)
Oct 10 despite being listed on several more active exchanges RVN volume was $180k total. XCP was $450k. XCP has had higher vol on bittrex than RVN ever has, and thats without benefiting from the KRW arb and so on. But anyways OCT 11- next day was binance listing announcement, vol went to $7M and $175M on day of listing projecting it into top 50 where it stayed. Thousand of people joined the telegram, twitter blew up, tradingview, etc. RVN was literally a bitcoin fork still with zero asset features. -
You can just say “this is our starting state”
-
And then you can build from there with one more mature validation setup
-
But the burn had a concrete window
-
Single biggest problem XCP has always faced is liquidity IMO. 90% crash after delisting just highlights how problematic having two single centralized on/offramps was- investors got spooked and sold it to nothing.
Liquidity begets liquidity, gives the project a solid foundation. ETH would be DOA right now if it was only on tux exchange after 5 years and never got added asap on kraken and the like.. likewise for rvn or even btc. XCP is like pre gox days, the price just isn't right, nobody wants to invest because there's no guarantee they'll even be able to exit obviously it would be top 50 rn if it had top exchange presence. As a result all morale is sucked out, theres no energy in the community, people just dismiss it as a shitcoin
XCP is about the only coin not on two dozen exchanges at minimum. Literally any other coin in the top 250 has better presence, in my opinion this is the main reason why it has practically faded to nothing although people cite every other reason but this. After Robby and Adam left I don't think anybody ever actually properly wrote to a single exchange -
And it was all to the same address
-
Ya I think that’s why they ripped it out because it was like decided
-
So it shouldn’t be hard to just query that address and calculate xcp balances
-
But I mean more generally. Is it worth coding to validate the many versions of sends. Or is it better to just snapshot the computed database
-
Snapshot
-
If snapshot is fine, socially, complexity drops technically
-
The software exists to validate the state if you want
-
Fair points coco
-
More or less agree with you
-
If you fork, well, if I forked, I would not code that part. You would need to go download old software version to verify.
-
That would let you rip out tons of code on a fork
-
Yeah that’s fine I think
-
And when you start forking you start thinking, what’s the point of any backwards compatibility at all. A virgin project is more pampable
-
Just throw the old software in an archive folder in the repo or something
-
You should also do it in rust
-
It’s all a quagmire. I dunno how to move in this land
-
-
With confidence
-
I messed around with rust a little. I don’t know exactly how to make it so it’s easy to plug into existing full node. So like you don’t need a fednode specific to Counterparty. More like a bitcoin plugin.
-
And then I kind of gave up haha
-
Rust is really accessible though, I was surprised.
-
Yeah a bitcoin plugin would be incredible
-
Yeah the dev environment is really easy to setup
-
And testing is quick and debugging isn’t too bad because it gives you suggestions
-
I’d like to do a rust boot camp or something

Force me to focus on it for more than like an hour at a time
