I've flipped cautiously bullish on XCP, J-Dog decentralized himself, Krellenstein is activated, codebase is improving, developer count rising, interest in tokens on Bitcoin at ATH w/ CEX listings coming.

Runes will be the main event in 2024, but Counterparty could start looking like a pretty good risk-return play.

Stacks has a $3.7b market cap. XCP at $19 million. (200x higher)

Recently, Stamps has gained interest. It caught some of this Inscription wave and is now maybe half the activity on Counterparty (by txs not by $).

In general, Counterparty is mostly NFTs. I ran some analysis and about 90% of activity on the network is NFTs and most of the remainder is XCP.

But with this Runes launch in April, there's a non-zero chance to reignite shitcoins on Counterparty.

There's a handful of existing ones, like PEPECASH, DANKMEMECASH, BITCORN, PENISIUM, but they're still NFT-ish.

I think it has to be driven by new ones that are straight memes. History is a drawback for meme coins, you want wild eyed speculation not chart reading autists.

Not having a "mint" feature is a headwind, but maybe that's not forever or there are creative ways to mint, like dispensers. Or by doing a self-mint where your asset follows params, like SRC-721.

The hardest thing is the liquidity, everything is smoothed over by that but new leadership is talking CEX listings in Counterparty chat soo...

I think the key thing is figuring out a good minting mechanic, until then the best shitcoin on Counterparty is XCP itself. So, anyone that fucks with a Counterparty NFT should fuck with XCP at least a little.

Anything that can grow the network beyond the current size, that's why I promote three letter asset names for a landrush opportunity, is worth exploring.

Screwball ideas, not all shitcoins:
- 10x or 100x supply of XCP like a stock split. People would speculate on just that alone and it would fix things that a tiny supply hurts.
- Three letter asset names for a higher XCP issuance fee. Maybe on the same block that Runes becomes active.
- Trade asset ownership like you can tokens, either on dispensers or for Counterparty tokens, like how dex works. New speculation vector.
- Counterparty token that represents a claim on a future Rune, just like RSIC but to enter the fray.
- Counterparty token airdrop season, dividends, multisends on active addresses or certain collections.
- Counterparty token mints, every address that broadcasts XYZ will be eligible in a multisend at certain time.
- SRC-721 is interesting in how traits are "stamped" and then mints indicate how to combine those traits into layers. Whatever you think about stamps, one of the nice things is that when you are looking at one, if there is a dispenser or an order or an owner it's THE dispenser, THE order, THE owner, and any history is for that one asset cleanly, so it's really clear what's going on.
- Phockheads is a good example of a parent-child relationship for a collection. People are excited about that for no reason on Ordinals.

I've been bearish the XCP token in the past, but things have changed and I'm updating my outlook. I think Counterparty is due for a token season, and XCP itself it first in line.

I keep a public wallet, 4k XCP is now my heaviest bag. Next after that, I hold 4m $BAG which is an index fund of Rare Pepes. And beyond that I've collected over 1700 NFTs and own 1k assets.

So I am heavily biased and just sharing what I'm personally doing and thinking about right now.

Anything that blurs the line vs draws a line in the sand with regards to Ordinals is interesting.

Worth mentioning Rare Ordinal Directory.

Like one of the things people are excited about on Ordinals right now are airdrops and holding RSIC for future Runes exactly how CROPs and BITCORN works.

And then there is something coming out called Runestone which they will airdrop to 100k addresses.

It's a lot cheaper to do that size of an airdrop with Counterparty multisends. Imagine an airdrop to every address to ever interact with Counterparty. (378k)

That's more draw a line in the sand-ish, but just spit balling.

But if BTC goes down rotation into nfts could make sense, buying nfts at the top and selling them at the bottom has performed well (depends on the nft) for some people because the NFTs held their value better.
