I used to trade this coin back in 2015, great the project is still going
-
is there some revival happening ?!
-
it was never dead, so no revival ^^
-
No one knows?
-
it is possible
-
did you do it in horizon or freewallet?
-
what is better to make the stamps XCP.NINJA or which wallet?
-
nope, that's how we originally had it. now you can only attach to particular vout of the tx
-
yup. and the xcp are burned 🔥

Is there not a choice between receiving or burning XCP for the creator?

Im been hanging on but in general its all good no work yet here irl so mainly full time creating and building some art and non paid visuals performances its fun but kinda heavy on expenses since i moved to a remote area..
This is cool idea i tried make runes ooakosimo token last year but didnt sell it or anything just wanted to see if i can do it or see what to do with it i guess its similar to this -
Gmoney has a similar thing.
(Apologies if I got this wrong, but)
If you own a GMONEYPEPE, you receive various token air drops from time to time.
Kind of a fun way to improve distribution of one's work. -

XCP is Bitcoins answer to Wall Street and centralized equity markets. Bitcoin’s killer app.
-
Follow and learn the logic behind binding assets and creating listings, pioneers of new tools. Advocating for assets to be listed, shows the demand.
-
Let devs do the work of index optimization and Fine tuning utxo management to improve ux. integration to their platforms, may come once the environment is correct
-
Positive path forward.
-
Users can send support requests to Magic Eden to ask them to list XCP nfts
-
-
The protocol support wasn't there to support listings, but with current atomic breakthroughs integration is possible
-
-
Imo, they could start with CP assets in UTXO then fully support CP integration
-
They don’t work as well as before. More expensive to open,
Multi dispenser not working. -
Dispensers are more expensive to open (on empty addresses) simply because it was necessary to address a critical vulnerability in the protocol that also increased the storage costs of running a node by 5x.
On the other hand we introduced our own bug in our fix for accidental dispenses that partially broke multidispensers. Our bug has since been fixed and now multidispensers work exactly like before. -
Personally can't wait for the 1000:1 split
-
It gives xcp more liquidity imo
-
It would be kinda cool too if people noticed —-"whoa, what's the XCP token in Microstrategy's wallet?"

Devs - Can the newest counterparty node software be installed manually or via docker only?
Does current iteration still utilize btcpay? If I already run electrs and btcpay, can my counterparty node share these resources?
Is there a better chat room for node runners?
Thanks -
Is that you Psykeeper?
-
-
i am running electrs on top of the bitcoind service but using docker compose
-
-
i see
-
Counterparty Core doesn't rely on btcpay, and AFAIK it never has? Right now, Counterparty Core does require a local instance AddrIndexrs, for consenus as well as transaction composition. We'll be eliminating the requirement for transaction composition, at which point a node will be able to use either a local bitcoind instance (if your keys are in its wallet) a local electrs instance or a public electrs instance (or anything that implements a similar API)
-
Wow, just to be sure, does this mean it will be possible to install and run a Counterparty node without a local bitcoin node ?

How does this work ? One transaction gives you 24 mints ?
-
Not sure but I think Quentin means 24/7
-
-
My guess is it’s probably just 24 transactions bundled into one workflow - so 24 transaction fees but fewer clicks for the user
-
Ah right, it’s the new multiple minting feature:
-
-
ooo where’s this room?
-
fairmints tg
-
Yep
-
they are utilizing an addresses utxos to deploy multiple mints
-
-
So is it just one transaction fee for 24 mints? or how does it work? I see all of the mints are still quantity one
-
each utxo requires a signing
-
first tx has mint fee, then the subsequent tx is just a mint with a signing.
-
Ok, so you would bind a utxo (one transaction fee) and then do 24 mints with the second fee?
-
each broadcast of a mint requires a signing, which involves mempool fee
-
first signing has minting fee -> goes to dev
-
and a mint with it
-
ok I’ll just try it later, i’m still not following the fee structure. This particular mint everyone is participating in has no mint fee so it’s just the btc transaction fee.
-
platform fee,
-
That's a beautiful card!
-
i thought the tx volume over time graph jdog showed to say transaction volume was "dead" looked wrong so i made a basic one myself. I can share it but it's not beautiful or easy to read in any way lol. here's some summary stats:
fairmints launch was by far the single highest volume day in at least the last 2 years.
statistics for transaction volume per day over the last 720 days (2 years)
median transaction volume/day: 470
average transaction volume/day: 1070
since 10.4 went live about 30 days ago:
median transaction volume/day: 487
average transaction volume/day: 6838
and still very early days for all the new features, and this is with all the drama that's been ongoing -
Haha close to my 10.8 saying it will be all fixed up lol lots of coding. You all probably freakin wore out some keyboards I bet lately ahah
-
Is that through api again?
-
-
Can you show me a fair mint doing that utilizing the commissions or payments
-
Ya it would be fantastic and I’m sure was the idea fair mints charge per transaction
You could make the charge amount go up as the mint progresses ??!! That would create markets like crazy !! -
yeah, that's true.... it's hard to see because the tall days are so tall and i didn't do anything to make it easier to read but it's still pretty clear that 10.4 is drawing volume
-
How is this done ? Most are free except the transaction but getting paid makes sense lol that’s what we are all here for right in the end
-
How did you find out about XCP?
- 15 November 2024 (20 messages)
-
sounds like a reason to restore it..... 10 year users seeing that going down and inaccessible makes them just walk away
-
i believe the code is open source and any developer can take on that work for free if they feel inclined
-
-
in the 2019-2020 period I had lots of issues with CW and gave up on being active on XCP the whole time and ended up having to switch to FW to use XCP. For some reason CW would not work with a seedphrase with many addresses and lots of assets.
I figured it was a redirect traffic move then and even moreso now. -
I really miss that wallet (however I understand times change and things advance)
-
Hmm interesting question threw rare pepe research kind sir
-
Trying to get an old unmaintained code base working that broke months or years earlier sounds awful
-
Maybe a die-hard fan will get it done

Sounds hard

for sure, it’s just the most unpleasant kind of dev work (in my opinion)

it's probably doable with AI tools

I got a bit of xcp in a rarepepe wallet, which I can only access from their website. What wallets can support xcp without the need for a website login?

Again, dispensers aren't going anywhere for a long time. Even though they're fundamentally and unnecessarily trusted. If I had wanted to get rid of dispensers, I'd have just deleted them (🙏) rather than spending countless hours fixing critical bugs in their implementation while changing their behavior as absolutely little as possible.

it was just bad error handling. when the node comes across a transaction that's invalid in arbitrary ways, it has to handle that carefully and in a controlled manner. one part of the node told the other part of the node that the wrong bad thing happened. here's the patch: https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core/commit/8f87fd9912ef1198e638ba0afee292f49a808226

You can't make a fair minter with a locked asset?
-
nope - wouldn't make sense if you could suddenly issue more supply
-
Yeah
-
I must have messed up somehow
-
-
If niftyboss is still releasing a verified dispenser list that people prefer to buy from, then dispensers still require a trusted party for safer transactions
-
Yes
-
atomic swaps won’t ever need a verified list - if you see an xcp/btc atomic swap listing, it will be safe to buy regardless of who is selling
-
Are dispensers safer than metamask? What's the scam rate i wonder?
-
Yeah i know
-
I'm just saying the narrative of untrustworthy dispensers is massively overstated here
-
I'm glad they are going to be replaced
-
IDK, i would personally never buy from a dispenser that isn’t on the verified list and i would never advise someone else to
-
I've bought over 1000 dispensers by artists. None on his list
-
-
That's my point
-
Overstated
-
-
-
-
-
Its just high value
-
But atomic swap is better ofc
-
-
Yep some people (remember 3AC?) lost tens of thousands of dollars to dispenser scammers
-
-
-
Risk beat reward. Happens in a lot of sectors.
-
I would never, personally
-
-
I can only assume someone that happened to was dumb or could afford the loss vs. potential gain
-
-
-
I have been buying and selling from dispensers since they were first created, and I have never had a problem with them. There were only two instances when I had to return BTC to buyers because they sent me BTC after the dispenser was filled. However, this issue was eventually resolved by adding a message to indicate when the dispenser was filled.
I understand that the goal is to develop something better. Atomic swaps could serve as the best replacement once they are fully tested and prepared. Claiming that dispensers have been useless over the years is akin to being blind if one has not utilized them. Dispensers are a part of history, and many assets have been sold through this method. -
-
this works in a small market where most people knows each other
-
-
-
-
I don't think anyone has claimed that dispensers are useless. Precisely because they're important and useful it has been necessary to fix bugs with them. We've fixed dozens of those over the past months. A couple of these bug fixes have necessitated small changes in their functionality that can be easily worked around at the wallet level.
Atomic swaps are an alternative. But while they have a strictly better security model, they're also very new and have some flaws / trade-offs, so they won't be replacing dispensers entirely anytime soon. That said they're totally awesome. 🔥 -
-
I don't think I remember anyone claiming, that anyone claimed that dispensers are useless. I'm just saying that the danger is massively overstated
-
-
Yes
-
I could demolish the XCP dispenser market with scam after scam just like anyone else could if they wanted
-
-
And that can change very fast
-
-
Whats this?
-
So?
-
That's why atomic swap
-
It was always gonna get better as more money flows in
-
The danger is overstated
-
Nearly 0 percent of dispenser transactions failed in any way. Closer to zero than 1 i bet. I don't have real stats
-
Well the person who gets scammed from an XCP/BTC dispenser won’t feel this way. I don’t have any tolerance for scam potential and I have mainly XCP, so like Adam was saying, dispensers are not a great fit for me personally
-
Idk what “overstated” means, the danger is present and if someone wants to scam they can
-
Fud
-
Ok
-
Dispensers are amazing is the point.
-
Atomic swaps are better
-
-
You guys fud
-
-
Do it
-

Amazing compared to getting metamask drained

FYI we're considering removing the ?show_unconfirmed parameter from the node API as part of a code refactoring. If you use this flag, please DM me with how. The idea is that instead of looking for e.g. unconfirmed send transactions with /v2/sends?show_unconfirmed=true, you'd just rely on the /v2/mempool/events route.
-
-
Its not some huge thing like it's made out to be, like it would be losing it all in one fell swoop

Speaking of the api I didn’t see a call to get all block details in a range of blocks in v2 like on v1? I go crosseyed in the apiary docs

The infrastructure has to be there before people arrive. People are also waiting for momentum to start before they buy. Yes, if nothing happens after this then I will probably dump what I have.
-
It's funny because for years CP has been about "community" not money, but now there has to be money immediately. It was also completely centralized around a single leader that pretended to himself he wasn't the leader. Centralization/ decentralization doesn't make much sense when it's this small.
-
-
I'll buy em, dm me
-
Why would we want to do anything to you other than make you calm down lol
-
it's not like you ever calm down though 😅
-
who's you? xD
-
-
LOL
'We' don't work for you either lol -
man you speak nonsense. What work are you even talking about? 🤷♂️
-
Seems a bit manic
-
-
So you decided it was ok to delete all his messages?
-
I see what's going on here..
-
Did you not see his stupid messages
-
I read what he typed b4 Adam decided to delete it. Adam thinks he can do anything he wants.
-
-
-
-
Ur dumb too eh
-
Cool
-
I was banned from other channel for way less.
-
This is not the place for personal attacks, insults or random tantrums
-
-
If somebody is spending his time doing personal threats, shitting on every aspect of the network and the community and threatening everybody because as "a stakeholder" everybody works for him, he controls it all and he could dump it all, I think the best for him to do for his own mental health is precisely to dump all his assets and leave somewhere else. Just my two cents
-
this is condensing what he said there was more substance but who would know because Adam destroyed the recording
-
That would have been cleaned in any channel
-
(as it has been cleaned in the past in previous user's rants across majority of counterparty related channels)
-
I like the stack rants, they always have some gold in them
-
Pretty comedic if you ask me plus good ideas
-
-
Yeah until you crossed him, which i was just waiting for it to happen lol
-
He's always had good points, but I don't understand why the dramatic/violent touch at the end of all his arguments
-
Its a great character. Everyone is so soft
-
I learned the expression "dumb fuck" today, ngl that has enriched my english for now on
-
Counterparty has characters, let's mute them all
-
For words
-
I strongly encourage you to create a channel for him and other trolls to gather and have nice ´discussions ‘ if you enjoy them
-
I strongly encourage you to gfy
-
Is this lonny?
-
Looney
-
-
Nope wang
-
Yeah i was muted here
-
Are you giggling about it?
-
Its deer season. I strongly suggest you should were orange

I've just done it once, iirc there's 2-3 transactions involved

Oh yeah, you need to buy some of the coval token on eth

Our API was down yesterday. Issue has been resolved and vaults have been minted this morning. If there's a larger issue open a support ticket in our discord and share URL to the vault in question
-
i will wait some more hours and then will open a ticket , thanks jake

right so the asset was attached to an already spent UTXO: https://api.counterparty.io:4000/v2/transactions/841b96935c07c7763eb2417aa23ee0214447ff45539d36df3dad47a8bdf5e04b/events
-
-
-
Oh ok I see, shouldn't those lead to invalid tx ?
-
-
-
-
-
-
Yeah, sorry I can't be more helpful. The initial version of UTXO support definitely had some serious bugs and footguns. Even ones that could cause data loss. Fortunately we've been able to improve the design significantly (with the gracious help of @herpenstein and @btcopenstamp_support ) and apply some fancy new testing techniques, so the next version should be much better.

what happened to child pays for parent? why doesn't this work anymore?
-
what can we do to speed up the transaction?
-
I’m not aware of any CPFP issues - can you provide more context?
-
CPFP a Bitcoin-layer thing and is completely independent of Counterparty
-
I made an order with unisat wallet via counterparty marketplace. I chose High fee because one can not manually set one. The fees went a lot higher in the same block. So I sent BTC from the same addy from another wallet where I could set the fees manually. The transaction went through without the old pending order. Then I sent a random card from this addy to another addy using even more money for the fees - guess what - this transaction gets confirmed to, the old one still pending. What am I doing wrong?
-
-
its probably not spending your unconfirmed outputs
-
So there is no known way to accelerate this?
-
you have to spend the unconfirmed output to get the benefit of CPFP
-
so you'd need to ask someone familiar with unisat, maybe there's a way to select
-
-
for example?
-
What Counterparty marketplace works with Unisat?
-
-
-
To be safe, you shouldn’t use a wallet that contains ordinals or runes.
-
why?
-
Electrum is a good one. But perhaps best to contact the marketplace for support as they may have specific recommendations ?
-
Stampscan has a TX booster, connect wallet, enter tx hash, adjust fee, and sign. Works for unisat, leather, okx users - no fee other then the Bitcoin mempool fee
-
Unless the marketplace has designed their tx construction to check all the various Bitcoin metaprotocols for assets, it’s possible your tx will contain other assets as inputs, thus accidentally sending them

On Fairmints if you try a mint you can select an unconfirmed utxo and accelerate it
