Everyone has a choice, its either one persons best interests or a whole networks best interests and you'd think it would be simple and clear to see but the water is being muddied by people that want their lordship back -
(Wallets don't implement replay protection. The node software does. J-Dog released a version of Freewallet that only works with an out-of-date version of the node software, from a year ago. He did a completely half-assed fork, and that's dangerous. If he wants to add replay protection to that old version and complete the fork, it'll become more or less safe to use. As long as he doesn't screw up again, of course.) -
This is probably why they spend so much time trolling, to get the impressions they are legion -

I have seen literally one person who was interested in running an old version of Counterparty, and it wasn't because of any protocol feature but just because we disabled the flakey P2SH encoding in the API. We disabled that in like v10.4.3 or whatever.

I have 200-300 dispensers in another addresses, I can tell it was pain -
with atomic swaps you can have 200 listings in the same address and open and close for free all the times you want

It's possible to modify dispensers in such a way as to support having multiple, independent dispensers on a single address, so that there's no real reason to have to open dispensers on so many different addresses. Then you wouldn't have to move BTC / Counterpraty assets back and forth at all. This was actually part of the original proposal for the v10.4.0 protocol change, but it's not a trivial thing to do if we want to maintain backwards-compatibility with existing multi-dispense behavior (which _some_ people rely on).
My own perspective is that it's better to direct development resources elsewhere (e.g. to atomic swaps, where there's no risk of rugging; to allowing for easier chaining of Counterparty transactions; reduce fees dramatically; etc.), but of course if there's strong demand for continuing to improve dispensers, it's perfectly possible. I don't think dispensers are going away anytime soon. -

My philosophy is that avoiding regressions is generally the highest priority after eliminating security vulnerabilities. That's what we have now—the same capability as before, but with higher fees to work around the security issue. We'll be able to bring those fees down below their original levels very soon, moreover. Adding new functionality comes later.

There are also limited resources for development of course. Unfortunately the implementation of dispensers is a total mess and it's very hard to work with without introducing new bugs / accidental regressions.

Yeah it’s not easily exploitable. You have a certain number of blocks to send the Bitcoin in order to have the asset sent to you. If, for whatever reason, the mempool gets super-congested after you’ve sent your txn and it doesn’t settle in time (20 blocks I believe) then you don’t get the asset. If the seller is a dick they can keep your Bitcoin

I think a key concern is that investors' money/energy/attention is being funneled into someone's slush fund that will disappear into a black hole.
Let me try to make an analogy.
Constructive vs. Destructive investment vehicles
Constructive:
1. Let's assume a group of people create a company to build up an organic farming industry (ORGANO FARM). They buy land, they seek out the best heirloom seeds, and the healthiest growing methods. And an ecosystem is built up around their activities.
When this company takes in investor funds, the money will be used to create something that benefits the investors, the producers, and the consumers in the ecosystem.
Destructive:
2. Let's assume another group of people create a company to PRETEND to build up an organic farming industry (ETH ORGANO FARM). They don't buy or build anything.
They just do an IPO and quietly move the cash to accounts in the Bahamas and Panama.
Sooner or later, the investors will find out that all of the money is gone, and they will never want to have anything to do with organic farming again.
And no ecosystem will have been built.
Counterparty has a thriving art community that is not limited to, but is well known for PEPECASH and rare pepes. There is infrastructure here for the creation and sharing of art, among many other possibilities.
It is unfortunate to see people getting suckered into investing in something that will eventually wither away without anything useful being built. -

Let me speculate a bit.
The coingecko XCP price is probably based on the DEX-Trade and Zaif prices (the only two CEXs where XCP is currently listed).
DEX-Trade and Zaif do not have much volume, and I don't believe the price-discovery role is being fulfilled reliably.
I don't have the dispenser volume data on hand, but Niftyboss or someone else might. I believe there is more volume on the dispensers than on the CEXs. -

There is a flaw in the dispenser system that can result in frontrunning (accidental or intentional) and the buyer not getting the item while losing the payment.
To protect buyers, verified dispensers are considered those owned by sellers who can be contacted and trusted to return funds in those situations.
Niftyboss is the guy to talk to for details though.
Obviously we need to find a trustless way to trade so that we don't need to "verify" sellers etc. Hopefully atomic swaps will free us from this issue. -
Also — the price is not a factor in the dispenser being verified — the price is up to the seller. The key issue is whether the seller can be contacted and trusted to act in good faith.

On the "list of services that have upgraded," Zaif is described as "Zaif Wallets."
It might be more accurate to simply refer to Zaif as "Zaif" or "Zaif (a centralized exchange)".
I don't think they offer wallet services. -

if your utxo is in an order you need to cancel it in the orders, in the bottom box, unfortunatly you cant unbind it yet, as there is issues with detach function at protocol level

Yes it really happened. Back then there was no destroy function, and since CP already used a burn address to make xcp, it was popular to use them further on. The real supply of pepecash is around 700 million.

Getting into the fine details of publicly traded assets, some are restricted to only being held by licensed traders.
I have a solution for this, but I have yet to propose it to the community as a whole as it is part of a dynamic system that I am still refining. I look forward to sharing it sometime this winter -
I don't know if anyone else feels it, but when BTC pumps like this, I get an adrenaline rush.
It's so strong, I feel it physically. I know it's a "good" rush, since the cause is an increase in wealth, but it still feels nearly as stressful as the way I feel when losing money/wealth.

I've got a suggestion.
Maybe issue/sell a premimum membership "ooakosimo" token with a qty of 1000 or 500 or so.
Then periodically, when you release a new work, you do a free airdrop to the holders of "ooakosimo" tokens, and then sell the rest through dispensers or (hopefully soon) atomic swaps.
That way the token distribution will be broader and people will feel more comfortable investing and trading them.
Fairminting is another idea worth investigating. -
