Yeah like you in the official chat
-
Some people just like to constantly stir the shit, looking for fights everywhere they go
-
Which obviously is a vibe killer
-
It’s why moderation is important, all tg chats trend toward cesspool on a long enough timeline
-
Jdogs classic kek, no one used it yet kek emoji emoji. 3 guys emoji
-
Is this better?
-
im hearing there have been a whooping 3 sends in the last six days on Classic 😂🤣😂
-
3 sends by the 3 people who support the old 9.6.xx
-
it's fair to say the official chat is this one (devs, infra providers, artists are here)
-
I responded to that
-
It ain't me on the vibe kill
-
Maybe take your own advice
-
I'm feeling fine
-
i don’t get it TBH. 🤦🏻♂️
-
I went with your joke.
-
Youre being facetious, so was i ofc
-
Like 3 guys decided to pile in
-
They took the "hysteria" comment to heart i guess
-
They did make another channel dedicated for comments like this. Maybe take it there next time as it is off topic for this channel
-
-
They call it cock chat
-
Its dedication is to Jdogs Classic
-
Guess u didn’t want that classicmoto deal
-
is that why you spent hours trolling JDog last night hahaha cringe
-
Pure Hysteria
-
Hysterectomies all around!
-
I wonder when you guys are going to ofac are addresses cause mean 😆
-
-
I wasn’t even talking to jdog he just kept responding
-
Offer still stands btw
-
-
Lol don’t be beta trade me your nakamoto for a classicamoto
-
I was told it was ok to discuss classicamotos in your chat but then you say I shouldn’t which is very confusing
-
It was my first question after you invited me
-
Can you guys discuss this either in DM or in the channel where it happened?
-
🙏
-
Nothing to discuss, not sure why gmoney is following me around throwing accusations
-
-
Next thing you know we are all crabs
-
I said it was fine
-
Still wondering why I was banned from rare pepe chat while Im like the only one out there pushing these freaking frogs lmao
-
Public API for backend proxy is throwing 504 error codes, the rest of API is fine.
-
-
utxos
-
pubkey also throws 504

"Go crab, or go home."
🦀🦀🦀 -
-
sorry please just copy and paste the request here
-
When I went to bangface a few years back and danced my butt off into the evening, I found myself wandering through the commons area admiring the decorations people had put up in the windows. One home made sign said "go crab, or go home" and as I read it my legs were so sore that I realized I was, in fact, standing like a crab instead of upright like even a monkey or a human.
In that context, to me, it stood for do what you went there to do to the best of your ability or you might as well have just stayed home
I believe it's a parody of "go hardcore, or go home" which would make sense, if you're into techno -

Are folks selling via dex and dispensers or vaults on open sea? If I list via horizon are things working okay to do so?
-
dispensers have been working. emblem vault has been picking up volume. and now atomic swaps have been picking up also

https://xcp.ninja/ and https://firemints.xyz/, https://tapwallet.io/marketplace are all atomic swap platform

Grateful for public API services, so trying to be gentle with it 🎩

I’m trying to make a small script to give me lowest dispenser prices for assets with an open dispenser. Should I use satoshi_price? I see that the fiat_price isn’t always updated
Also, can I use the API from the website or do I have to download it from somewhere? (Not a coder, super noob, just trying to make something) -

This API call is a good starting point:
https://api.counterparty.io:4000/v2/assets/PEPECASH/dispensers?status=0
And I think satoshirate is the field you're looking for
(Obviously replace PEPECASH with the asset of your choice) -
Thank you! Will try to change it 🙏

Leather - Bitcoin wallet for the rest of us (@LeatherBTC)
DAY 10: BITCOIN STAMPS 🎁 We proudly support Bitcoin Stamps, an unpruneable way to store assets on-chain. We've teamed up with @viva_la_vandal for a special Leather-inspired Stamp in his signature style 🐸 Follow us + Reply with your Stamps address and we'll airdrop you one* 🪂
-
so does this end up using counterparty transactions under the hood?
-
-
Stamps are fake and gay because they use numeric assets that don’t pay the XCP toll
-
-
No their gay because you can’t read their names but the image on chain is awesome
-
Premium.
-
-
Cool, sounds great. More potential for counterparty usage, even if leather users don’t know it.

def ghey just like canadians 😆

They do have 100k users. Eyes on the protocol, if 1% is beneficial to the space.

I mean they do it for free...
-
-
You see the art in the wallet.
-
-
I'm not sure if the transfer function is on currently as they've stated they are re engineering the wallet to support multi protocol assets and mobile support
-
Not CounterParty
-
-
-
You can’t “read the name” of any NFT aside from Counterparty named assets. What’s the name of any Ordinal?
-
No they are only viewing stamps assets
-
-
-
Try to patch prior hostility from devs.
-
Why would they do that
-
I’m not a fan either but I can observe market trends and see what the market values
-
Stamps was forward thinking, adoption, scalling , accepting of onboaridng devs and growing community
-
-
-
They follow stampchain api I believe
-
Less load on the nodes.

Index is opensourced.

oh so you have a separate service in front of counterparty?
-
I'm no engineer. That's all @reinamora_137
-
-
-
-
-
Has CounterParty users ever reached out and requested. Or do they just resort to what the flock does.
-
Things are changing. There is users and devs who are campaigning and reaching out to dev teams, offering all the resource and hours needed to integrate and support
-
If their using a separate API, it makes sense

yeah mine is different

The cheapest ones are closed so maybe @Niftyboss1 has an updated list

why would you buy? stampcoins are the future

I want to test out freeWallet and need some couterparty
-
XCP seems like the easiest way?
-
send me your addy will send you some free tokens
-
XCP is the network token for counterparty, what are you trying to do?
-
Test out a my paper wallet implementation locally by doing some sends and recieves.
-
is there another token that would be easier to test with than XCP?
-
I think you can use any counterparty asset for that, if you’re just trying to test counterparty sends and receives.
-
that worked! thank you. Was able to test sends/recieves from dispensers

it wasn’t on my list at all

It is a meta protocol on Bitcoin, which does all of the heavy lifting for time stamping transactions. Counterparty nodes read Bitcoin’s blocks for valid Counterparty transactions.

what happens on evm if i overpay i wonder? anyone know how they handle it? i guess they also reject

True, you could over spend, but not enough to trigger another dispense
-
No change given
-
If a CP NFT has a description that is not locked, does that mean that at any time the issuer could change the description?
-
dispense is individual minimum tx triggered not cumulative
if you overpay in one tx it will trigger but not kick back the overage -
yes
-
unless you overspend the full sum
then you can hope for the seller to send you back the short tx -
That seems like a bit of a risk for the holder........

Cleared out 840 xcp from dispensers to add to my bags
-
Hmm not a bad idea maybe it could be set up to return funds if they aren’t properly divisible to the dispenser that would maybe loose some transaction fees but keep things safer ?
-
Way easier said than done from what I understand haha code is hard I hear
-
Is not possible to return funds as the counterparty node just reads the Blockchain, has not access to any wallet to sign a tx for you
-
I purchased myrarepepe.com for a not inconsequential sum, to prevent anything unfortunate being parked on it.
Perhaps the 298 Club aka The Guild of Naka Hodlers could convene to discuss what they’d like hosted on the description URL and send me a file to host once that’s been determined through a process of social consensus? -
One RAREPEPE equals one vote?

Congratulations fren, but I'm curious why you didn't pick some of the cheaper dispensers? Is it because they don't have enough xcp available?

Wouldn't accept the bc1 type address

Figured it was because I wasn't sending from a bc1 address

Hi, all! I'm thrilled to announce the release of the new Horizon suite: https://horizon.market
This version of Horizon includes:
* Horizon Market: a PSBT marketplace for trustless atomic swaps between Counterparty assets and Bitcoin.
* An updated Horizon Explorer, which includes a lot of nice UI improvements for things like network stats and asset markets, and new workflows for purchases.
* A Horizon Wallet Chrome extension to work seamlessly with the market: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/horizon-wallet/bnmgkjlaommgappfckljlelgahnbngme?authuser=0&hl=en
* An updated Web Wallet: wallet.unspendablelabs.com
We're really excited about this release and would love your feedback. The workflows associated with atomic swaps are a bit unintuitive, so we've provided instructions on how to post and purchase listings on Horizon Market, which you can find here:
Our atomic swaps market is priced differently some other PSBT marketplaces: you create an account and purchase either credits or an unlimited monthly subscription in order to post signed PSBTs to sell Counterparty assets on the orderbook. There are no fees and no account associated with purchasing assets listed on the market.
We've started an FAQ, which we will continue to add to and which you can find here:
We’ll provide updates in this Telegram channel and on the new Horizon Twitter account: https://x.com/hznmarket
Give it a try and let us know what you think! -
Congrats. Excellent update. Any idea when mobile app?
-
It's on the roadmap, but no definite date yet
-
Christmas fucking eve and we’re getting releases
-
-
-
the new asset page where you can see all listings and recent transactions across atomic swaps/dex orders/dispensers, AND transact on any of them with the wallet extension is so slick
https://horizon.market/explorer/assets/PEPECASH?marketsTab=swaps -
-
-
-
Just so I’m understanding correctly. If I have 900k pepecash and I buy 100k more via atomic swap I then can unbind the 100k pepecash from the utxo and my pepecash balance will go to 1MM. Otherwise I’ll still have 1MM pepecash but it will be split between 900k unbound and 100k bound correct?
-
Yes, looks correct to me (based on the tests I did)
@teysol correct? -
-
I assume you’ll be getting all you can eat wings while you’re there 😝
-
I think that explorer dot unspendablelabs.com/ is down, i can't seem to load anything there. That being said horizon dot market/explorer/ lookes awesome and is up
-
if the intention is to switch to that as the explore i'd like to report that the links in the wallet still lead to explorer dot unspendablelabs.com/
- 25 December 2024 (35 messages)
-
Web wallet should be linking to horizon.market/explorer
-
If that is not the case I will take a look!
-
-
the new chrome extension wallet - the web one yes goes to the market/explorer
-
-
-
temporarily sending this URL back to the old explorer
-
I'd also like to report that on the new markets tab you have the math backwards for unit price - for example there are 10 BTFDPEPE's up for 2.69 XCP each. if you click through on the wallet you will see that it autopopulates to to the correct number of 26.9
-
-
-
-
-
The search function seems to have some issues. I can't find some assets for example ROTHSCHILDS or TRUMPDANCING.
-
-
-
and other than that first glimpse I took looks better than before
-
I mean if you type it in the search field
-
-
note there is also one asset with 'S' at the end which is missing in the list
-
Maybe they are censoring my assets 🤣
-
Good catch

I've noticed discrepancies in the "supply" of CP assets shown depending on the explorer.
For example, on Horizon, TEST is shown to have a supply of 1,000 units. -
-
But Tokenscan shows the supply as 400 units:
-
-
How can this be?
I looked at the issuances and destructions on Tokenscan (I can't seem to find this on Horizon), it appears that TEST originally had 1,000 units issued, and subsequently a total of 600 units were destroyed, leaving a supply of 400 units.
Perhaps this is not a high priority, but it would be nice to find the same supply info regardless of the explorer one uses. -

yeah there's a known bug in the API where the supply isn't being updated due to destroys. we're fixing it now

Too bad XCP isn't involved in atomic swapping
-
Bag to trading my bag for RAREPEPES
-
It unfortunately is tied to atomic swaps, when binding assets, once feature is being used more per block, a fee is activated.
-
I see it as friction, barrier for users and developers to support.
-
Xcp as a token would benefit just from the increase of user base, holding a historic token. Imho there no need to have it pegged to applications .
-
I mean the DEX theory, and registering names makes sense.
-
it's a dynamic GAS fee that increases based on demand. with low usage it's free to do attaches/detaches. i think it's a compute-intensive operation
-
Cleared out more dispensers

Give me a new list and anyone wanna put up a nice 1000xcp block for me?
-
how do you update the chrome extension? do you have to remove it and re-install?
-
go to chrome://extensions/
and hit "Update" near the top, under the chrome logo -
oh weirdly I see this is only available if the developer mode toggle is on in the chrome://extensions/ page (top right). Not sure why, but if you hit that toggle you should see the update button. Without that, I guess the update would just go through whenever chrome decided to do it
-
ya theres no update button but toggling it on off updated it lol
-
New list in 2-3 hours if you’re still around!
-
Yeah no update button on windows I think

i’ll look on my windows computer later and see how to bring it up, but that’s a good workaround from G Money

Xcp fee>horizon fees

Haha holiday sale all sold out! Great to see the demand rolling in 🔥🎉
-
You made them move their bag
-
-
no need to use horizon’s atomic swap market if it’s not your thing, you can use firemints.xyz or xcp.ninja or any other upcoming atomic swaps market
-
Yeah just saying
-
Horizon seems very centralized. Probably just stick with my trusty freewallet 2.0
-
love it! decentralization means you have options
-
Will I see horizon swaps on firemints?
-
Or scattered markets?
-
each atomic swap market stores its own PSBT sell listings on its own market. they’re recorded into the blockchain when the partially signed transaction is signed by all parties - IE the swap actually executes
-
Unfortunate
-
Feels like swaps should've been swaps like the dex is the dex
-
Idk
-
No money collection vector for the provider though. I get it
-
You can read about how PSBT markets work across the bitcoin ecosystem, as far as I know this is the typical implementation style
-
Counterparty was a community unlike ordinals etc. Breaking it up may be good though idk
-
Isn't it possible to propagate the PSBT via the blockchain/tx data fields and just query the CP node for PSBT's inside the chain/tx's?
-
Probably
-
maybe @teysol can speak to the technical specifics here
-
Even if that's possible, it's not happening that way so it probably doesn't matter
-
Consensus has been reached
-
Why should it not happen? Maybe with taproot its possible? And that's still in development afaik.
-
Then all listings could be available everywhere ... or push PSBT's to Nostr.
-
Miners would also be happy.
-
Idk, it sounds like a counterparty thing and it seems they've made the decision about how swaps work and doubt it's up for debate
-
Joined.
-
I could be 💯 wrong on that
-
Look what data amounts ordinals can push a PSBT with its size would be trivial I guess, but dunno the technicals.
-
I thought listing's would be available everywhere. I just assumed that because it makes the most sense to me in the context of how everything has worked in the past.
-
Seems the decentralized way would be to see any swaps from any aware market
-
Here’s your opportunity
-
Beyond my expertise, as you know, troll
-
I'm sure some legend may take advantage of this huge mistep
-
We should do a layer on top of CP to handle pushing PSBT's to Nostr Relays.
-
Then everyone can just query the relays for CP PSBT's
-
it's definitely possible to build a metaprotocol on Counterparty (or any other blockchain) for listing PSBTs the way that Horizon does. It's just slower and way more expensive. PSBTs are fully trustless, so it makes more sense to implement a PSBT market as a central service.
-
More expensive miner fees?
-
Every market seeing everything for sale sounds way better imo.
-
I guess someone might make an Explorer to compare prices across markets for you eventually
-
Paying a BTC tx fee to list something for sale sounds better?
-
-
No, I said every market seeing everything for sale
-
Sometimes transaction fees are less than 2 dollars
-
-
unlimited bitcoin transaction subscription for 20 dollars a month please
-
I have no answers, just questions
-
That's implemented already
-
Why are you guys asking me questions?
-
You can troll me in the vampire chat
-
Scrape the sites, list all the listings…
-
I guess someone might make an Explorer to compare prices across markets for you eventually
-
-
Then why say it again?
-
yes, a centralized service to be a marketplace aggregator and listing cross poster could also be written by someone. here’s the business model:
- charges extra on top of all platform fees and transaction fees to cross list your psbt listings on all available platforms
- charges a subscription fee to show you price comparisons across all the platforms -

I dont quite understand why pbst being trustless= centralized marketplaces>decentralized market
-
Time for new cex
-
Prices are increasing really fast
-
the way i understood it: it's faster and cheaper to only commit completed transactions to the ledger, and by nature these exchanges are trustless, so the only thing you would gain by committing listings to the ledger would be that you would see them everywhere, and the drawback would be that they're slower and more expensive. you can still list your utxo-attached assets for sale on multiple markets. who knows, some of them might provide completely free psbt listing services in the future
-
it's a technical tradeoff and a reasonable decision to go with faster/cheaper/still trustless - and this is the reason that you see that psbt marketplaces are generally done this way
- 27 December 2024 (297 messages)
-
-
yes i think so, but i am not knowledgeable enough to say with any certainty
-
If that's the case then I don't think it was worth the tradeoff and is a misstep.
-
Id rather pay a miner and see it all than pay some individual
-
i think it's not just a small transaction fee, it would be a very large transaction because you have to record a lot of state. so it's not just 1 tx fee versus 2, its one small tx fee versus one large tx fee and one small one
-
To see a fraction and have to use another website to see if Im getting the best deal
-
I guess if it's too large...
-
i mean anything is possible if you pay for it
-
correcting myself - i am wrong, committing both the listing and the order to the ledger are both big txes. so the difference is two big txes versus one big one.
But the cost calculation is a bit more complex than that, because there are far more listings than completed orders. the other thing is that typically atomic swap listings would have smaller quantities because they don’t allow partial fills. So while you might put out a dex order for 1 million pepecash and let people buy what they want from it, if you were to list one million pepecash on a psbt market you’d have to find a buyer to buy all of it at the same time.
instead you’d probably make, let’s say, 10 smaller listings. if, as a seller, you paid a big transaction fee for every single listing, that is a lot more friction and there is no possibility for an unlimited listing subscription like it is possible to get with horizon.
so you effectively end up with reduced liquidity.
It is still possible for another service to come along and create a database of PSBT listings that marketplaces can pull from, there is just no strong reason for that database to be on the blockchain. you would just be using the bitcoin blockchain as a really slow and expensive database and not getting the cryptographic and trustless benefits of it, which are already completely provided by psbts -
What if the counterparty nodes would communicate directly with each other propagating and caching the listing/PSBT via the API? Wouldn't that be possible? Just as a feature of the node without any posting to the blockchain.
-
Ok that all sounds reasonable so, could counterparty have done whatever horizon is doing on its side?
-
All counterparty transactions are bitcoin transactions. It’s a metaprotocol, not a side chain
-
I know
-
I think everyone knows that
-
Right - so you understand why proposing a side chain protocol (counterparty nodes communicate with each other outside of the bitcoin blockchain) does not follow that model
-
No
-
I thought you were answering my yes or no question
-
The communication itself is no transaction and there wouldn't be a consensus issue right? It could be added to any node who wants to. without interference with counterparty itself. Or am I dumb?
-
It would make sense to run as a separate public service as described above and also by you, it is not part of the counterparty ledger, which exists on the bitcoin ledger

Ideal to pay with native token (XCP).
-
Pay XCP to who?
Why would we want to require atomic swap listings cost money at the protocol level? -
I thought we were talking about a privately set-up atomic swap marketplace:
"Anyone is free to make their own atomic swap marketplace and not charge anything to list"
I'd rather pay in XCP than $ or BTC in this scenario. -
-
Yea. That be cool.
-
This is well known
-
Time to move the xcp decimal point over 3-4 decimal points as lpw liquidity becoming apparent.... can I get a here here!
-
Do you think it's time to move the xcp decimal point over 2 points to increase liquidity supply from 2.4mill to 240mill?

Currently more rare then BTC. Changing fundamentals 10 years later drives further into shitcoin territory.
-
Rebrand coming soon?
-
Moving the decimal over doesn't change the fundamentals it just helps with liquidity and the cost per xcp
-
It changes max supply.
-
Under this change if you have 100.00000 xcp you'll end up with 10000.00000
-
Yes the supply number changes but there is no additional Supply added to the structure just the decimal point moving over to free up some liquidity
-
-
Are you in favor of this change Adam?
-
In equity terms it's a forward split... doesn't change the supply just reduces the price and increases the liquidity
-
Nobody wants to use xcp to create an asset when it's trading at $100 a coin
-
I believe this will allow new users to enter the ecosystem without being priced out
-
One of the biggest problems with xcp currently is the cost to acquire a coin to create an asset

There should be a Not Sure option.

If he is still running 9.6 XX he won't have to agree because he can continue running the code as he seems fit

This isn't anything official it's just a litness test

For example your ownership ratio of your Holdings versus xcp Supply will not change under this implementation
-
I understand but as Classic moves forward, users want to know the differences between chains and where the devs see the future.
-
On both sides.

I wouldn't expect much future out of classic... I've seen J-Dawg at the helm for 7 years now and we didn't get much core Dev
