yes but there is a much bigger and thriving community with Enjin, plus other games could implement the cards too. As much as I love bitcrystals and spells of genesis the community is just so small and i feel like there's no marketing, I've been around for 2 years and haven't seen much growth in interest of the game or the currency, especially since bitcrystals cannot be obtained via exchanges now there' snot going to be a lot of visibility, the game is literally running on word of mouth at this point

to do a short reply, this is because you will find only the blockchain cards and the cards you could blockchainized into Book of Orbs. So the cards which are only in game cards can't be found there.

not 100% correct. for example LRIKTHEFIGHT is not in BoO. and there are some others which are not in BoO neither.

This is one is a known issue, like for orc assault for example. Already discussed here and on the forum ^^

Sever times i spoke about attracting (new) players and gave several ideas how to get enough funds to keep up slow developement of sog. Sad, but most of that did not get responded really. The problem (as i understand) is that in this moment when announcement came out EDS obviously already didnt have game developer anymore. So it was too late for new ideas.
The money which is still coming in from SoG would be enough to hire outbond dev. At least i think so.

I dont get what you try to say with that.

New content does not come without dev power. Thats clear for everyone.
But you have a pretty good game engine and adding new content does not need lots of dev work. There are many ideas spoken here which are easy to fulfill and which need only few lines of code, those ideas dont need 8h/5d week dev work. Freelancer would do it quite fast and for small money. New stages could be made by community also no full time game designer needed.
Minting some BCY ingame is also idea which could be made with few easy steps and would probably bring back most of old gamers who stopped and bring also many new players.
Adding very short time (like max 2 weeks) special events, like gummyyummy event, with new cards (only available in this event and very few for sale) would bring also additional funds to EDS. Adding this kind of event would be also only few lines of code and just some game designing which can be made by community.

All this would be enough content to keep community alive and even growing. Also BCY would profit immense from those small things.

Also recycling old monthly tasks should be easy done since the levels are designed.

There is a simple math for mobile games to be profitable. It’s the cost of user acquisition these days around 5$ (depends on the country) vs the lifetime value of the user. To make it simple if you make less than 5$ a user you are losing money.

The important metric is day 1 - 7 - day 30 retention

Generally day one retention is all about tutorial and early game experience day 7 and 30 is more about game depth and strategy.

SOG is performing well (even overperforming) on d7 and d30 but not sufficient on d1 it means the game has good depth but player don’t grasp it soon enough.

Right now players are well engaged but the user base is not enough to cover the cost of new features. The simplest way is to acquire new users but unfortunately most of them don’t pass the d1 gap

We were working with the publisher to improve early game xp and it was improving but due to crypto winter we couldn’t reach our initial target that was set for mai 2019.

I wish that with “few lines of code” we can make everyone happy and get money out of it but it’s not that simple. And unfortunately regardless how awesome is a new feature or level implemented the revenue with the actual user base is not enough

Anyhow I know SOG has a lot of potential we need about 5-6 months of work to be able to implement the required feature as planed. But as for now we have to focus on getting the funds.

i have the feeling that you did not really understood the easy sinn behind “few lines of code”.
you have everything already there, nothing really new needed! just implementing it to game (instead of keeping February Fears” several months up) should not be more than “few lines of code”. that keeps existing players still playing. i even understand that it does not rise revenue, but it shows that you/EDS cares about still playing players! Since you still have some revenue from game, why not give some of it (its not more than “few lines of code”) back to players?

with this point i agree. and generally i am not (opposite to many others) talk about open sourcing sog. i am not really fan of that. i am talking in the first line about small changes like changing a February Fears to some older monthly stage. and THAT should be easy. also it should not be difficult to set up campaign as GUMMYYUMMY was should not be difficult.
if anybody could explain me why this 2 things are more than only “few lines of code”, i would apreciate it.

To create a level you need first agame designer to be sure to balance the rewards with the ither campaigns. And sometimes we create new cards.
Then you need dev to create the level, cards, the server update, you need also testers, put the new version online on the store and after that to ensure the possible bugs issues. And I am pretty sure that I forget some steps ^^

i didnt mean that everyone creates his own campaign. what i mean is that Shaban once mentioned that EDS does not have anymore gamedesigner, so why not to just accept some design ideas of some community members? general requirements are known for stages and i understand that building a engine behind new stage requires some work, but it is for sure not 8h/5d job.

The point with this february campaign, its position is after the last campaign on the map. So now it's like a "normal" campaign on the map, moreover because it's not reset every months.

Suggestions are still welcome. The point is that we have no dev to work ln it after too 🙄 But anyway we would be happy to see new campaign design suggestions furthermore by the community.

Used with an older version of the game. So how can you be sure that this code will still work with your current version etc etc. If it brokes the game, this will be a real issue, more than having few more content or not, don't you think?

there were never so big changes made that this levels would not work. for good dev it would be few housr of work to check the differences between older and newer versions and fix it. game will not get broken together because of that. and mor important argument: after GUMMYYUMMY level ther was no new implementations in game. so this should definently work.

Anyway our objective is to continue to develop the game and have more content to propose to all of you as soon as it will be possible. We just need first to focus on the priorities we already exposed few months ago on our website.

The GUMMYYUMMY campaign was removed because it makes no sense to be there anymore. Furthermore it reinforces the value of this card, as you are perhaps one of the lucky players who had the chance to get it.

I am not a dev and do not have the code under my eyes, so no, I can't confirm yes it will work without any doubt.

Some time ago, when SoG development got frozen, i wrote a bit about my background in game developement, in crypto scenes and very general about projects on what i work. But to answer it short (if that was your question): i am active in similar project, its just does not have same basis as SoG.

Delisting a community coin says a lot about the quality of the exchange

Counterparty is a dead project by design. Bitcoin is not and It will be never design to be a transport layer for assets. The problem here is not counterparty , the problem is the total idiocy in being on counterparty after erc20/erc721/cryptokitties. No one today I REPEAT NO ONE today is so stupid to open tokenized business on top of bitcoin or bitcoin like blockchain, and no one is so stupid to remain on counterparty. The top rated project that was on counterparty, StorJ switched more than one year ago on ethereum, so please do not blame exchanges blame everdream soft for this ridiculous mess.

Err..Big entities right now, are planning to tokenize $1 billion in additional assets directly on top of bitcoin, NOT ethereum (see LEO token whitepaper), tether is already on bitcoin omni (multi-billion $) bigger, more popular than any ERC token and will move over to new bitcoin based structure and there's more to come. STO's are a huge use case.

ERC* has it's own set of concerns. Storj followed the hype and money like most ICO's did.

The DAO was a disaster, one of the biggest screwups in crypto, parity and many other eth/eth contract vulnerabilities have caused individuals huge losses. None of that has happened with bitcoin assets.

Cryptokitties brought the eth network to a standstill when it launched and considering the amount of money it's raised, relative to activity not sure how justifiable that is.. Sure, no denying ethereum is a more accepted standard but it's not without it's own issues. Smart contract auditability, node upkeep, long term scaling concerns associated with keeping world computer up to edge, limited number of actually 'real' nodes, contract rent-seeking, eth 2.0 design conflicts

Fees on BTC are high now, that is problematic, agree there. but there's proposals for things like assets on faster sidechains in the works from entities, hell, even the co-author of the Lightning paper has said tokens or assets on lightning is an interesting avenue that could be one of Lightnings primary use case.

Everdreamsoft are early pioneers of bitcoin based tokenization and blockchain based gaming- bitcoin is still the dominant chain, most liquid asset and not tarnished by a thousand ICO scams.

bitcoin tokenization is only getting more accepted in future with things like LN making fast, cheap sends possible so EDS are well positioned, plus they've also embraced eth too so multiplatform and can capitalize on strengths of ethereum too

The high transaction in bitcoin is the proof that bitcoin is design for money as gold not for game assets. That’s it,. So the problem are not the evil exchanges (that BTW have already delisted BCY and now they will surley do with XCP) the problem is Everdream soft

This is a fair argument at the moment, high fees are problematic, they limit smaller low value micro transactions

but as mentioned above there is development in the works (coming soon) to ameliorate this and make sends of crypto assets, like Bit Crystals considerably cheaper-- that will make it MUCH more attractive for apps or games that want to integrate tokens and for holders/players themselves.

On bitcoin there is no WAY to have reasonable fee unless you use the LN unicorn. On ethereum you have an entire ecosystem ready for games right now.

It is like selling art at Sotheby’s or Christie’s. Only highly valuable will be sold there. Cheap art will only be sold on things like Ebay or Etsy.

The delisting of BCY was mostly down to needing assurance that it was not any kind of security from its issuance and mechanics. A written letter from a lawyer was required for projects that don't have a clear non ICO/ non security launch after regulatory crackdown. Same would of happened if BCY was an ERC token. Obviously ethereum itself is a security but it has been deemed 'sufficiently decentralized' because of PoW element and besides, there there are too many investors at this point

Well to be fair although the mempool is congested atm, it is a pretty much ath in tx volume. ETH too has had periods where the per Kb fee was higher than btc.

Right now bitcoin fees, despite being too high for reasonable transfer of any low value, they are lower than they were last time, partly aided by things like segwit.

In future Some onchain exchange to exchange volume will migrate to liquid (already happening) and some further stress will be taken off by txs occuring on lightning

also fees in the past to send assets on bitcoin have hardly been exorbitant (we're talking cents, not dollars) nows just a temporary bad example

in general I agree somewhat... but Not only LN but sidechains make super cheap sends possible too.

As for LN and interoperability with assets that's something that multiple people are working on and has been endorsed by the LN authors themselves. Progress there is further ahead than casper from what I can tell. It's early days in the token/blockchain gaming space but there's plenty of potential ahead, bit too early to call bitcoin assets useless right now IMO.

Problem here is that I like Lightning and Liquid too but today they don't do much for counterparty and we have no guarantee at all that XCP will run on a second layer or sidechain and the question of fees to transfer assets on counterparty protocol is legitimate.

Sarutobi developer plays with Lightning network but is nothing to do with counterparty and since he devs around LN there was no new feature to apps like BoO or Indisquare where he is the main dev as far as i know.
He develops Peeble instead (LN wallet).

Counterparty development is limited and only with very few actors.
Reason of delisting is also that running counterparty protocol is costly to exchanges where any ETH token is natively working if you run eth network and makes it super easy to implement technically.
Counterparty last update was a nightmare and ecosystem like BitCrystals took weeks to have something more or less stable again.

However I love bitcoin chain and true is the best one to keep valuable assets.
For gaming the problem is that only a small percentage of assets are valuable enough to justify exchanging them on this chain.
Multichain where the more valuable assets are stored on Bitcoin chain and others in another faster and cheaper chain makes sense to me and EverdreamSoft vision is pretty good in those aspects. Just curious to see if they can push the multichain aspects on blockchain gaming by their own, maybe Ubisoft partnership or any other big name will help here.

The issue with counterparty is it's lacking some devs unlike some project who has a good marketing budget it becoming very niche.
I beleive it has some fundamental advantages

- simplicity of managing token and assets (don't require blockchain devs)
- integration of native DEX
- Robustness of the strongest chain Bitcoin (security, compatiblity...)

And have the following disadvatanges

- Same as bitcoin chain (Fees, speed...)
- Low dev budget

Potential evolutions of counterparty could fit certains needs. There are project to move counterparty assets on side chains that could be a good value proposition

I'm working now on ethereum and integration of ETH collectibles and from the past experience with counterparty it's much more complex as each contract is different and have common grounds for collections is not trivial.

For the future I see a convergence of standards but still multiple winning blockchains (not just one) multiple chains and sidechain will coexist each chain having it's own government and features. That's the reason we have a multichain approach at EDS. Some people will use simpler chains for simple usecase and other more complex
