Depends on the country you live and the tax system.. in Germany for example if you trade cards (>30 Dollar) you have to pay about 40% taxes.
But if you hodl them for more than 12months you can trade them without paying taxes. -
The tax applies to sales also, right? 😁Ppl don't have a problem doing that. Feel it's the intention. Doesn't matter much to me either way, commented coz the topic came up.

I have to pay tax based on the last sales of the asset!
For example card X was sold in May 22 for let's say 10k doge (at 0.15 $) = 1500 $
If I trade it my tax system says it's worth 1500, you have to pay 40% tax based on this last price = 600 $. -

in rare pepes and other projects, the artists were not disclosed.... it was up to the artist themselves to claim their artwork... we are not going to be disclosing artist information without their permission, regardless of what "most other projects/directories" do.

99.9% of the rare pepe artists are known, cuz the artists stepped up and disclosed their artwork.... none of the rare pepe scientists ever disclosed who artists were... it is on the artist to claim their work

perhaps in the future we can make it easy for an artist to proove they created the artwork.... but again, not going to disclose details of who created artwork without explicit permission from the artists, which we don't have.... so, yes, other projects / directories might disclose their artists information.... but rare doge is not going to be doing that.

each project can come up with their own rules and run the project as they see fit... for rare doges, we copied the EXACT same model as we used for rare pepes... which seems to have worked perfectly without putting artists on blast without their permissions (might seem like a small issue to you, but data privacy is a big issue, and we do not feel it is proper to disclose artist details without their permission)

and as you saw... with a little asking around, you can easily identify who created a card... like you asked who made couch doge and got an answer pretty quick 🙂

sites like digirare.com popped up and gave artists an easy way for them to verify / disclose that they created certain pieces of artwork.... and we don't keep artists usernames in the rare doge directory, just email address that they registered with, and we DO NOT have their permission to disclose their information..... I kinda feel like we are going in circles here. Other projects are able to do whatever they want, but as I have stated a few times, rare doge followed a model which was successfull in the past, and we WILL NOT be disclosing artist info at this time.

I created a few tokens on Dogeparty back in the day, have attached images to them this year and last year: dogermint.com
Then there's a few that were pointed at images when they were first created from back then. The most famous of which are JOLLYROGER and MILKYWAY.
I'd say at least 90% of the old era ones are out of circulation. -

Does anyone know of a way to get an image to display under a token or in its xchain description if it is in a subdirectory? For example, attempts to add this as a token image have failed thus far:

If you use easy asset you can add mp4, gif and flat image and they will all show on xchain under the token. If that’s what you mean ?

As in, instead of link.com/image.jpg, it is link.com/subdirectory/image.jpg

for some reason xchain and the wallet won't accept that format — the image has to be directly after the suffix

I can't move the image but perhaps I can embed it in a json and get it to work through there... but then its the json URL that has to live forever, in addition to bitcointalk.org... hmm
