Dunno why exactly 550 but it was 1650 originally. 1100 destroyed in 2022.
I guess destructoying the supply down to 550 was a tradeoff between scarcity and liquidity. -

Initial supply of JOLLYROGER was 1,650 but it was burned to 550 and the supply was locked.
MILKYWAY supply has kind of a reason:

Just FYI, Decentraland released an update that broke VR compatibility but they are introducing a patch in the next day or so. Will check it out. Plan to make a video of it and all the Doge-related stuff there when its fixed.

wallet is a bit more critical to get a balance in than explorer... but i'll fix it either way when I have some time 🙂

The last month Javier and I have been working on getting the full parse and reparse working... its a long process which requires many days of parsing blockchain data to test fixes... so that has been taking up a bunch of time and put dev a bit behind schedule... but it is important to get this full parse / reparse working properly.... so people dont have to "trust" the dogeparty bootstrap database, people will have options to either parse all data directly from first block themselves (1+ week of parsing)... or to download the bootstrap database and verify it with a "reparse" (10-60 minutes) which will verify every tx in the database.

yeah... I made a bunch of sql code optimizations when I thought I was moving to mysql cluster/ndb..... since what you can get away with locally (quickly parsing through entire database results) takes a long time on ndb.... I made a bunch of optimizations to sql queries to make queries a bit faster..... primarily, looking up the first/last pages and loading just 1 page of data rather than looping through entire database and just SHOWING last page, etc..... Currently on a 5-server setup with mysql Isam tables and a Mysql master/slave Replication setup...... so the data is consistent between all the servers (another optimization, previously, each server ran a CP node and parsed in its own data into mysql... now only one server does that and the data is replicated to other servers)

One other change I noticed is my previously-stuck balances are no longer stuck. I can spend every last Doge from my addresses now, which is great.
Also, the 0.01 fee in the web wallet is a game-changer. Makes giveaways much cheaper & therefore more likely to happen. Sent tokens to 20 addresses in about 2 minutes just now, total fee = 0.2 DOGE.
Can't wait till that hits the Dogewallet.

Looney is saying randomness on the blockchain is incredibly hard to solve. Maybe it’s not possible to have true randomness.

I think if you know the algorithm of the random number generator it would be entirely possible to predict what the next sequence of random numbers would be.. it would require continuous "truly random" input from a third party to maintain its randomness.. like the person opening the dispenser making additional transactions that are used by the algo to generate randomness.
Cool thought experiment tho. I bet it could probably be done. -

All random number generators need a seed. Computers use pseudo random stuff like clock, cpu temp etc.
Excel's rand is not good enough for crypto. Wallets use specialized crypto libraries.
Block hashes are actually some of the best random number numbers. -

Hello Dogers , I’ve been playing around with json files this past week and am coming up with one last issue on them, was wondering if anyone has any advice.
I want images to show in the dogeparty wallet for assets ; ive used easyasset.art in the past and it will show the img in the wallet that way. When i create the .json the img only shows on xchain,,
The only difference in code i could see was - " class=\"img-responsive\" - added it and that didn't do it . Any tips would be super appreciated ! -
A while back the standard that xchain uses to interpret json files was changed. It may no longer be 100% compatible with the way easyasset makes their json files.
For reference this is a template/example json for what Counterparty and Dogeparty uses now:

Today’s show features tokens from 34 artists in 15 categories. We accepted nominations from a small group of Dogeparty directors, OGs and collectors who voted on their favorite nominees from each category.
There was about 75 tokens nominated in all. Nominees included tokens from every Dogeparty series: Rare Doge, Rare Reject, Trippy Tokens, KVLT, Dank Doge, and even non-series tokens. -
