There's a few bugs in the current implementation that could be hammered out first.
For example, resolving errant asterisk being added to the end of Description URLs on occasion. For new users it turns them off to using the platform. They are likely to give up and move on. For me it clouds the Issuance tab which devalues vintage assets in the minds of some collectors.
Additionally,
- the desktop wallet traps DOGE in wallets that get used frequently
- the Exchange in the desktop wallet could use some improvements, like not refreshing every 30 seconds or so when browsing market pairs, and for whatever reason DOGE pairs don't get matched, even if the order filler keeps their wallet open for 15 minutes or longer
- the min tx fee could be reduced to 0.01 DOGE, or even lower -
The oracled dispensers feature has been discussed for a couple years in the CP community, and was finally funded and implemented.... improvement proposals take time to discuss and sus out if they are actually an improvement to the protocol or an unnecessary update

Your bringing up multiple issues... the astarisk is an easy fix (we fixed in counterparty a few weeks ago)... the DOGE trapped in wallets is not a dogeparty issue, I am able to send all DOGE out of my wallet minus one for the tx fee..... the exchange is a dogewallet desktop issue

I prefer to work in cycles... focusing on a specific project like the wallet... it is not a good use of my time to go into the wallet, make one tweak, then spend hours creating builds and putting out an update.... better to focus my time on a bunch of updates to dogewallet and push them all out at once

Doggfather, as we have discussed a few times, writing a web based wallet is not easy, as you saw with the hackathon, the projects put forth were nowhere near the level of block explorer or wallet that we were hoping for... because these are not easy things to write/maintain

I am talking about the reality of now.... we have a feature we could bring to DP pretty easily. pricetag is $5k.... included in this update would be a bunch of updates to dogewallet to bring it up to speed (dip03, oracled dispensers, reduce tx fee price).... we have ~$160k in the dev fund, the pricetag of this feature is $5k.... seems like a fair pricetag and a no-brainer to me.... but again, this is a community driven project.... so, unless there is overwelming consensus that you guys want this oracled dispenser feature, it wont happen

The Dogewallet is great and we are eternally grateful for your work. I think oracled dispensers would be a good idea to implement at some point, but I'm more concerned with the stuff I brought up getting fixed as well. If its all done in one wallet release, OK I'm for it.

The issue is we need someone who understands CP to write the web wallet... it is not a simple task (I know, i've written a few wallets)... so, its not a matter of just finding a pretty designer and saying "make it"... where are they going to get their API data from? xchain? where are they getting their icon data from? xchain?...... any web wallet (unless paired with a block explorer or internal API) would be using xchain APIs... which is not good, cuz we dont want all wallets depending on a single API (like it does now)... xchain goes down, wallets stop working

sure we could, just gotta find a dev wanting to work on it, and who understands the actual project.... took me about 3 months to build counterparty2mysql and xchain and the APIs which were needed to power the freewallet .... then spent another 2-3 months working on building freewallet (which was forked into dogewallet).... I also wrote wallets for android and iOS... and some other wallets.

Xcp already received this update if I’m not mistaken. In a twisted way dogeparty is fortunate to be behind counterparty so to speak, cp is a ‘testing ground’ for dp so to speak, we should be welcoming adding of new features. Multi send has to do with segwit and has been mentioned many times. Browser wallet is a different discussion. Just saying from what I gathered

Could we get someone to just throw a number at us from some design house, sure... would that price creep up as they get more and more understanding of what the wallet is expected to do, prolly..... again, just my opinion... I am 100% supportive of having more wallets created, but I also understand the reality of the situation better than most.... There is a huge gap between saying "we should have X" and then that actually happening....... I choose to continue working on CP and DP and the projects I am involved on and making incremental improvements to the platform..... versus holding off on doing improvements cuz a wallet is not perfect

You are correct... platform features and wallet are separate.... one is actual functionality... the other is UI/UX preferences... one adds actual functionality to the platform... the other just puts lipstick on how you view the platform data in the wallet.

XChain server and licensing costs have been covered for the first year of Dogeparty.... after that, we will need to discuss some licensing / hosting arrangement.... hosting xchain and the servers costs about $1500/mo....

Javier and I agreed to support dogeparty and host the servers at no cost for a term of 1 year.... after that year, the DP foundation and Javier and I will need to discuss covering our operating costs out of the community budget..... right now I am covering all operating costs on my own.... the $20K we got from the dogeparty founders compensation barely covered Javier and my dev time for building the platform and hosting it..... as I have said, Dogeparty is a labor of love... Javier and Xcer and I rebooted it because we love the platform and want nothing but the best for it.... and we will do our best to support it as long as possible.... but, at some point, its gonna have to start supporting itself using DP foundation funds

I agree @DoggfatherCrew. imo, the greatest challenge we face is as you describe… “we do not have a browser based wallet that shows the artwork”. DOGE/USD very much tertiary. Nonetheless, it’s been implemented on XCP, yes? So could potentially be a fairly pain free integration/fork?
I’m excited about Token.Art and the possibility of integrating a system similar to the CounterCord wallet verification system into ENS. I see these as critical intersecting technologies to bring our community into the relevant metaverse environments like oncyber etc. I’m having the epiphany that with verified dogeparty and counterparty wallets, one could be granted permission to hang their XDP & XCP assets within Oncyber, etc.
Generally speaking, our community should be focused on adoption, establishing colonies and tech partnerships with culturally relevant & values-aligned projects to give DOGEPARTY the core metaverse functionalities which exist on EVM chains. -

What can we do about instituting a nominal “creator’s fee” and “DP foundation fee”. If we could introduce this sort of structure to the platform, we’d have more residual income for creators as well as to support the foundation and the development & operational costs.

typically how it works is that someone puts forth an improvement proposal, it is discussed, then we try to fundraise funds from the community for the feature... once the funds are fully raised, then we do the dev work..... but, in some cases, we can just take funds directly from the DP Foundation funds and fund initiatives the community hasn't funded

I totally understand now why the foundation has opted to limit spending. DOGE price has been a lot higher recently & the present USD value won’t get us very far. Fees are the way IMO. J-Dog screw usd oracles. We’ll do that later when we have funds to burn! Can you bring us foundation fees and creators fees? Then we’ll at least have some modest inflows.

No, we can not change the fundamental way the platform works to extract fees for the foundation and/or creators.... we COULD put a royalty system in place once we have a Virtual Machine (VM) working... but that is a big undertaking... and if we can't cover $5k worth of dev now, no chance of covering $40-50k for a VM... so, the answer is prolly no

OK well I'm for the introduction of oracles so long as its part of a bundle of changes. I would be willing to contribute something toward that. And if I need to submit DIPs for the individual bugs in the desktop wallet then I'd be willing to do that, but these things need to be done. They are simply more important than the oracled dispenser.
And I am glad you provided a screenshot of the spreadsheet, but I have to ask, why weren't the XDP buybacks done by buying via dispenser? -
I fully support payment to Jdog, Javier & other developers on the work that they do for Dogeparty,help to maintain it but not quite sure about payment for just being on the foundation.
5000 dollars isn't that big an amount that we have to think so much about for getting an upgrade that helps to price against fiat. -

Yeah, it’s a convo about longevity. How to create a sustainable protocol here. We never wanna go offline again. So the foundation seems highly oriented towards survival at all costs, which is precisely how it should be. What’s the best way to use the limited funds given all known and unknown variables? imo it must be to generate some trickle from the XDP users. There is no other way. I would not object to paying a small percentage per tx to keep the infrastructure running. But I’m not even sure what our total volume is and how much a 2.5% (EXAMPLE) fee might offset costs, if any.

We do community fundraisers for most of the proposals. Pretty sure there's still dispensers open. Why aren't we talking about motivating the community to chip in. If all 800 ppl in this room bought 1 asset from the foundation each time there was a fundraiser, zero issue exists
