The password encrypts the stored wallet for extra security, and will protect you from someone getting control of your computer and just opening the wallet and being able to send funds…. So it does add extra security…. But yes, if you already have malware on your computer, your fuct anyway,… even a hardware wallet won’t add much additional security since the transaction you sign could be modified by the malware… unless you use a hardware wallet and verify each output on you hardware device

I had trezor support working a couple years ago in freewallet… need to revisit it n get it working again,… but focusing on paid work now…. Donations to freewallet dev are next to none…. So tough to keep working for free… if it’s important to ppl to have extra features in freewallet, I would assume they would donate, but very few do…. Think I got like $500 in donations over the last 5 years… nadda… so yeah, I’ll get to hardware integration when I can… but saying we should do something is different from supporting the wallet😜 not complaining, just speaking facts 😀👍🏻
