Friday morning here, time to roll out of bed and get to work soon…
-
Hahaha 🤣 it’s been something to behold to see the market finally start to catch up with this rich history here. Appreciate all the help ;)
-
Time to get up and get done coffee…
These auctions aren’t going to settle themselves…anyone with items pending from the past weekend WTH auction, my apologies for going slow this week.
Getting some more help lined up, hopefully an announcement on that next week. -
It’s sure getting exciting!!

Rarepepes on opensea legit to purchase?
-
Or should we buy through rarepepe wallet?

check vault contents, but in general yes.

Dispensers are also an option.

opensea a bit cheaper right now more like 127k usd

Make sure you check the contents of the emblem vault

They're the wrapped ones though right

woop woop... whazzup... pepepricing good. is this a pepulip bubble?
-
It's important to note that the RAREPEPE in Emblem Vaults are not "wrapped" ones. They are their originals and they reside on the address (which is tokenized) on the Emblem Vault... Like described above, It's always best practice to double check that the assets reside on the addresses in the Emblem Vault - cross-checking on xchain.io is a good idea

Oh INR (rupee) should also be there
-
Would that be ok if they used the xchain api?
-
For asset info and dex price?
-
It’s a public api, so as long as they don’t bash it too hard I’m sure JDawg wouldn’t block them :)
-
yes, they can use xchain API if they want... I pull the XCP price data from coingecko tho 😛
-
Ok... Where does gecko get it from?
-
but yeah... if your talking about PEPECASH/BTC price.. from dispensers, yep, they can pull it
-
They prolly have xcp already right? They could get all the pcsh info they wanted tho
-
Nah pepecash seems ok, but XCP is a mess.
-
gecko gets the XCP price from the centralized exchanges that we are listed on... but they use some funky logic and sometimes count the exchanges as "outliers" and discredit their volume/price... which is why at times you see the price slam down to like $2 the back up to $4-5 range
-
Also on pepecash too many outdated excahnegs
-
I found some ‘secret’ sauce xchain endpoints the other day.
-
-
I don’t share my recipes Jay
-
Heheheheheh
-
-
What's wrong with zaif?
-
the exchanges displayed in white are counted... the ones displayed in grey are discredited... it changes on a daily basis with coingecko's funky algo... even tho dex-trade consistently has like 40-75K of volume each day, some days they take the price from vindax which barely has any trading on it
-
nothing is wrong with zaif... just coingeckos funky way of doing it
-
I would pull the data from CMCs API... but not going to be paying them to pull data from tehir API (its a pay service now)
-
Well the price seems wrong...
-
It’s not wrong it’s just flavoured
-
Lol
-
xchain shows the exact price displayed on coingecko... and the price on coingecko today is taken from dex-trade directly
-
dex-trade is always the most accurate price since most of the volume is there
-
Ok
-
@jdogresorg FTX is asking for more info.
-
what info?
-
Eg which exchanges are outdated here:
-
-
All except counterparty and zaif?
-
all except Zaif
-
not sure what "Counterparty" points to
-
unless it points to the DEX
-
Think it is the dex. Offers weird pairs
-
But only a few
-
Is it that xcpdex site
-
got ya... ya, we had the CP DEX listed on CMC at some point a few years ago... then they removed it.. could be leftover remants from that
-
Mwybe
-
Ah
-
-
Xcp / Bitcorn... Legit..
-
But no xcp BTC
-
Yeah... not much XCP/BTC trading on the DEX really... its all moved to dispensers since its much easier
-
So what CEX are still trading XCP except zaif?
-
only zaif from that list you provided... plus new listings on vindax.com and dex-trade.com
-
Dispensers are the way to go for sure
-
You gave me a bunch of sweet cards and this was one of them. It’s awesome, thanks.
-
-
Yes I’m guessing dispensers now higher volume than any exchange 💪
-
Any way to use dispensers as reference price?
-
I haven't done that yet... prefer to pull price direct from exchanges versus trying to justify using dispensers price as it would be easy to manipulate (setup dispenser with insane price, buy 1 xcp from it, poof price shows wicked high)
-
will consider doing something like an average in the future... busy right now with other projects
-
Some people have used dispensers to manipulate prices and market cap of certain assets
-
aggregating available exchange price feeds is the least worst option for now
-
we need more volume on the exchanges for better liquidity and price discovery... I've started it with PEPECASH but I'm not ready to tackle XCP as well
-
I'll stick with muh Pepes for now :)
-
Having said that, I do have active buyers of XCP, so anyone looking to sell 1K + volumes HMU :)

Are there any resources to find who the original artist is for the cards?
-
For maximum price no deals
-
It's not manipulation. People can sell at what price they want. It's a free-market and decentralized.
-
💯
-
Some people will cut off their hand just to spite their face.
-
-
sure, 0.1 dispensers are great for the market
-
It's not manipulation. Inspect the goods.
-
It's doesn't cover everything but digirare covers a bunch of artists and some of their creations
https://digirare.com/artists -
Centralized and biased. Lol
-
It isn't manipulation, or it is manipulation?
I'm just saying it creates unnecessary noise and messes up newcomers. -
True it does
-
I put some offers in the market square, anyone wanting to sell can talk with me, just as you do with Rare Pepes :)
-
But, you can't control what goes on in a decentralized free-market. If that is the case, 1 should be implemented as the minimum
-
So I cant find card, then see the artist? I need to find an artist then see which artworks they've created?

Putting artificial limits at the protocol level don't make sense of course... it's a UI/UX issue really, which as @jdogresorg points out, not high priority compared to other projects currently.

Mistake sees $69,000 CryptoPunk sold for less than a cent
A CryptoPunk owner accidentally put their NFT on sale for less than a cent and someone snapped it right up.
-
I was responding to the suggestion of putting a minimum 1 limit on divisible assets, putting additional artificial rules into the protocol makes no sense... does that clarify?
Should be filters and warnings at the UI/UX level instead. -
Suicidal regret or effective tax write-off, not sure which

It's the best thing to happen to Rarepepe in a long time. Whether we like it or not Ethereum dominates the NFT space. But it's not just a bridge to Ethereum, but all of Defi. I'm sure we will see lots of cross chain Rarepepe vaults being traded. This means easier access to Rarepepe, which means more liquidity and higher prices. Barely anyone was using the out dated dex. Yeah I love btc and xcp but we need to get with the times and thanks to Emblem we have much better exposure now.
-
-
-
Right exactly the best of both worlds
-
its a co-operation, RAREPEPEs has always kept a good community going
-
plus its a trust thing - everyone has been skeptical of the trustless nature of emblem
-
just needs people to come out of their comfort zone a little and try new things
-
Im happy with the dispensers and bought a few things :)

got BCH maximists looking at us as well - ok they are newer, but they have NFTs as well

more people see XCP assets selling on OS and they could come over - and you guys have the perfect front row seat to load up on Coval at a cheap price

I don’t tend to chip my opinion but in this case I feel the introduction of the 0.1 fraction was a nefarious move, intended only to trick the less observant, tired, or hasty out of their holdings. Totally against our community ethos and bad for the majority of the group who have worked so hard on building mutual trust for the past 5 years. Lowest give amount should not be less than 1 (unless prices go crazybonkers in which case it can be reviewed).
-
There should just be a data column for the price per 1 unit as well as the price for the given amount and then No one can get caught out

@shannoncode is there anyway for the opensea pages for emblem vaults to be designed the same way as curio cards pages? I think it'd increase liquidity tremendously if there wasn't individual listings for each card and instead you had bids/offers orderbook style on a central page for each card like how curio cards is
-
@HillbillyDeluxe2020 tagging you on this also. It'd help with price discovery 100 fold imo...
-
Can you link me to an example on opensea
-
Mine Bitcoin - My Curio Cards
"I used to put these logos on neighborhood ATMs. Repurposing banking materials has remained a theme in my work. I like the idea of using soon-to-be extinct items to help spread the new cryptocurrency movement." - Cryptograffiti
-
Idea is, i.e. there woud just be one central page for Nakamoto Card. All the trade history would be shown on that one page. All bids/asks would be there, as well, instead of being scattered across all of the listings.
-
Oh right, those were made *on* opensea
-
They are individual items *bundled* into a group auction
-
Opensea doesn’t let me structure a single asset to display the slideshow
-
Maybe we can contact someone at opensea to discuss? I wonder if there would be a way
-
They *did* enable embeds because of us.
-
Anyone else have thoughts? I think it'd make trading xcp assets on there 100x easier and increase trading volume by a lot. You could also make the argument to opensea team that they will need to build the same design out for when (well, if) someone ports/wraps tezos nfts onto eth (tezos nfts are mostly fungible so it's the same idea with how they could be displayed).
Imo this could totally revive pepe/sog liquidity we should try to get it done -
Pepe aint ever been dead. We alive and well here. Now, those others are their own problems. That's what happens when you turn your back or go from BTC to smoking mETH.

Rare Pepe will not take off unless a good wrapper is built for those.
Emblem Vaults are cool but those can never be verified on OpenSea since vaults can be empty -
The dream is to have a wrapper wrap a rare pepe on Ethereum
-
Then an official page for the wrapper can be verified with a blue check on opensea
-
Then watch the fireworks
-
@shannoncode @DesktopCommando that's what o meant when I suggested a dedicated contract for RAREPEPEs
-
Yes I agree with you
-
I’m working out a way to do this, and utilize erc1155 to group 1:n single asset pepevault
-
Wow I'm glad to hear!!
-
-
That’s why you are to verify them first - I put it in my descriptions, upto the buyer to do the same
-
If Shannon is trying to make it easy that is fine, but I’ve been clear on how to use create and verify the contents
-
Currently, yes. Apes get rekt if they don’t research. We will make incremental updates to help users research while I work out the next version
-
But ultimately, yea users need to verify contents independently
-
The community spotted the fake emblem shop front before anyone was duped, but quite a few honest sellers haven’t funded vaults as well or listed them before adding the contents
-
There WILL be scammers attempting it, we have provided the tools and procedures - people need to read the manual before playing with the remote for the TV
-
The explorer needs to be updated to xchain.io not blockchain.
-
That’s an easy fix
-
I’ll write up a revised create version & a buyers guide too
-
So when you click the address, you can see if the tokens are in vault
-
-
Incremental updates I was speaking about
-
Looking to trade for some gurupepes , dm
-
-
What you got
-
-
If few scams happen, the whole emblem.vault page on opensea will lose credibility from the mainstream
-
not really if the buyer does'nt follow the procedures
-
That's why I would love to see a design that doesn't allow scams in the first play
-
If
-
-
Cool in theory doesn't work in practice
-
Trust me on this
-
and thats emblems fault ?
-
CounterParty
-
No that's not what I'm trying to say
-
nobody takes responibility for their own actions
-
-
Question - can some one still make XCP tokens (assets) - I know it can be done - but what if scammers manipulate Rarepepes (yes emblem has the database for the images to the official ones)
-
@pepecashdesk
-
I would include in the descriptions to goto the rarepepedirectory to check against the xchain explorer
-
since Emblem isnt just about counterparty - embeding that info inst going to be done, it would need individual descriptions written by the creator
-
I saw there's a solution to withdraw Spells of Genesis cards to the Ethereum chain. Does anyone know anything about it and whether it can be used for Rare Pepe cards?
-
Yes the otc desk is dank. Also dank are the dispensers on xchain.io. Not as dank is dex-trade. It’s sometimes cheaper but it’s 3,500 pepecash to withdraw and the wait times can be 7 hours or longer
-
Yes I can confirm, withdraw fees for Pepecash is 3500s, 20s for XCP.
It sometimes took 1 day for withdrawals to process -
Nice work!
-
No it is a private solution that they have been working on for over a year. I believe the users have to send their counterparty tokens to a burn address to get a similar IOU on ethereum
-
Nope. They swapped chains
-
Along with Age of Rust and a few more.
-
I see, I think it involves a custodian step as well
-
Certified Rares Pepes are revolutionaries and pioneers on one of the most powerful financial infrastructures known to mankind.
-
Why tf would we leave.
-
-
Who said anything about leaving haha
-
That's what they did. Lol
-
all we would need is visibility. if opensea rarible & friends implement support for XCP protocol its a win
-
Come and see or look from the outside and window shop.
-
Some ppl miss the value proposition of being on the strongest chain… “few” 😜
-
I'm all about interoperability though
-
the fact pepes are on bitcoin chain gives it more value
-
CP will always be on BTC…. At least as long as I have a say😀👍🏻
-
Lots of variables that gives them value here.
-
yes : )
-
For me, if it means rare pepe would be more valuable on ETH chain, I would wrap it any day of the week 😂
-
I bet you all would too
-
christies helped giving visibility to punk ; but they are just a bit slow
-
they'll catch up with XCP in a few months or years
-
and it'll be rares, sog etc party time +)
-
MAde the same mistake, was having fun with punks from 2017
-
Who's christies?
-
think I only started trading rares like this year

10 things to know about CryptoPunks, the original NFTs | Christie's
Nine rare Punks from the highly collectible series will be offered in a historic single lot — direct from their creators
-
I'm new here, and biased, but part of the mystique to rares is their history, and the ability to own the original token. The same one that you can see was minted on chain "5 years ago". If you burn, and create new tokens on an EVM, that history is destroyed, and ultimately fracture the supply base.
-
the moment those guys realise there are rarepepes around it'll be good for the community 🙂
-
The wrapping process doesn't destroy history
-
It doesn't give them more value just because people want to pay in Eth. We are fine here and it builds our ecosystem. That is the point of PEPECASH & XCP as the main source of trade. Buy PEPECASH buy XCP the obtain rares. Or do some OTC deals. I'm loving the OS business though. Cheaper prices on dex & rpw and better deals attract more buyers to go and obtain XCP & PEPECASH.
-
Lies and bullshit. Lol
-
I like the OS business too but I have to disagree with your first statement.
Rare pepe trading on the most liquid platform gives it exposure and credibility -
Credibility on Eth. Gtfoh
-
Exposure we get from stuff like this

Let the market decide

We are here to stay and really gives no fux.

/me feels we are rehashing the "XCP should move stuff to ETH to chase liquidity" conversation of a few days ago.... deja vu... TLDR... Mohommad can come to the mountain, the mountain does not move to mohommad 😛

"don't go chasing waterfalls'? Not sure that applies as well as Mr. Bacon's quote lol
-
With Christie's lieing about punks first NFT bulls "All Publicity Is Good Publicity"
-
People come to see the truth.
-
I don't think it was intentional... they just didn't do their own research
-
Their bad. Lol
-
The cryptoart movement started way before punks. Lol. It started before certified rare pepes on bitcoin blockchain.
-
🙏
-
I think it has already
-
why change anything - emblem keeps the original chain intact - XCP can move freely on and off it. whats the point in changing it ?
-
You will get all the answers when a good wrapper is up
-
its NOT a wrapper
-
use it, dont use it, that the choice for everyone

😁

Hey guys, is it possible for a malicious user to list something on the dispenser and program an algorithm that front runs a buyer to steal his funds?
-
no
-
Thats the other chain. lol
-
sorta.... they could send their own funds to the dispenser before any incoming BTC payment... the second BTC payment would just arrive at the dispenser and not get a BTC token... but it would always be a race to the dispenser... first tx to the dispenser is the first one that gets processed... so in theory, yes it is possible to program something that would detect an incoming payment and try to beat it to the dispenser.... which is why you should always send a payment to a dispenser with a high fee so it gets procesesed quickly
-
Why not? Someone can list a RAREPEPE for 1 BTC. Once the bot detects a transaction with a specific amount of fees, it immediately sends a transaction to the dispenser with a much higher fee
-
True but that's the purpose of the bot
-
Detect the "high" fee
-
Send even higher fee
-
Steal the 1BTC
-
yeah... but if the first tx has paid a high fee, sending a "higher" fee doesnt necessarily mean it will get procesed faster.... sending a payment to a dispenser should always be done with a high fee, so it is processed in the next block.
-
As always... use caution when buying from dispensers with low quantites, and ALWAYS pay a high fee to rush the payment to the dispenser
-
So am I guaranteed to get the item even if someone front runs me with a 100x more fees?
-
there are no guarantees.... just saying, if the first payment pays a high fee to get in the next block.. you paying a HIGHER fee doesn't necessarily mean you beat them
-
It’s just more incentive for it to be that way
-
I kinda get it. Let's say transactions A and B are initiated to a dispenser. transaction A the honest buyer, sends high fees to be included in the next block. Transaction B (attacker) is initiated immediately after transaction A with 100x higher fees.
Both transactions get included in the next block -
Who gets the item?
-
-
depends on how the miners order the transactions in the block... CP parses the block transactions in order
