core issue here is dogeparty is running on a machine with SATA hard drives... so it is disk bound (disk IO)..... I have better servers setup (SSD) running dogeparty nodes at public.xchain.io and api2.dogeparty.net.... tho need to spend some time setting up a load balancer, etc.... Other than Counterparty, nobody was really launching tokens back then. It was just coins on their own blockchain. Bluecoin, Blackcoin, Whitecoin, Cinnicoin, etc. I think I was running 12 QT wallets at one point.

I remember… I believe at the time there was actually a website that allowed you to go fill out a form which tweaked some Bitcoin config settings and allowed you to spin up a whole bitcoins fork / chain… at the time the options were roll your own chain or fuck around with tokens on this new counterparty dogeparty thing😜

yup... 99% of the chains out there are just bitcoin forks with no real value prop.... much easier to shitcoin degen when you can remove all those annoying problems like "how do we incentivize miners to mine our chain".... 🙂

Back then there was still a lot of treachery, pump n dumps, etc., but it was all at a much smaller scale.
With Dogeparty it was fun trading tokens with other users. So easy, so cheap. But the DEX wasn't part of the wallet at the time, so we just had to do OTC trades. And dispensers hadn't been invented yet.
I remember being a bit disappointed (that's an understatement) that the original devs never got around to putting it in. But it was fun collecting other peoples' knick-knacks. -

I'm most thankful for @jdogresorg first of all for bringing it back to life, then also Elon Musk for turning a huge crowd onto DOGE (even if most people are still underwater), then I'd say Patrick Lodder, who does 90% of the actual Dogecoin Core dev work — we wouldn't be here w/o any of them

It's a huge burden on Patrick's shoulder to keep this $20 bil market cap coin going smoothly, combatting the fud, dealing with Doginals-related issues... There's like 3 other devs that do 10% of the remaining work for Dogecoin. Huge pressure thanks to Elon, lol.

I'd like to get involved somehow, just as a hobby. I built a decoder using a native graph database for ordinals and BRC-20. I think it's cool to be able to "see" what's happening, where the stuff is on chain "pĥysically".
Would anyone know to point me in the right direction to read about the low level protocol implementation of dogeparty, maybe doginals? -
