Pretty entertaining to me that this CP 10.9.0 release has been out for many weeks, and no one really noticed you couldn't sign txs anymore until I update the tokenscan CP API to 10.9.0... and I report having issues signing... I'm told by Adam that the update was due to the old way being a "bug", and to read the release notes..... and then all of a sudden... poof... more and more ppl come out of the woodwork to say they too are having issues with signing txs..... The 10.9.0/10.9.1 are out for many weeks with not a peep of anyone having issues, until I do.... like, is ANYONE actually doing testing and reporting back issues to the core devs? cuz seems all quiet until I speak up, and talked down to like i'm the one who has a problem and doesn't understand, and then poof, everyone elses sees the problem.. 🤷️️️️️️

FYI, this is why freewallet is having issues signing txs generated by 10.9.xx ….. and requires additional request to get raw tx from bitcoind and decode just to get input types…. Any reason u stopped passing this info in the new api?

This was a bug that was fixed. It's in the ChangeLog for v10.9.0 https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core/releases/tag/v10.9.0 as "Fix issue where composed transactions contained script_pubkey (lock script) where the script_sig (unlock script) should be". Please read the release notes before reporting issues.

Thank you for clarifying that you feel that that is a bug. I will make the necessary changes in FreeWallet to enable signing of transactions generated by the latest version of the counterparty API.
Regardless of if I read the release notes or not, if I have problems with transactions and signing, I will be asking about them. You may think that your release notes are perfectly clear to you however they are not clear exactly what the implications are until someone runs into an issue.
Once again, thank you for your reply, and clarifying that this change to the way transactions have been generated for many years was because you feel this is a bug👍🏻 -

Ahh I was fighting the same problem on 10.9.x
Getting a No inputs error on the compose/send trx the other day and they wouldn’t even load in electrum wallet like that. Haven’t had a chance to revisit -

If you’re on windows, which I assume you are you download FreeWallet.win64.exe and simply run it (double click)…. That will run the installer and put an icon on your desktop which I assume you know how to use after that.😜

The GitHub page list the assets, which are the files that you can download… you download the correct file for your operating system…. If you’re on Windows, you most likely download the file that says win64 in it…. If you were on a Macintosh, you download the file that says OSX64…. It’s all pretty straightforward.

I have an Apple laptop, why can't I just click and get the wallet in the bar like with Metamask, Phantom or Sui wallet. When I see dot exe I automaticly think it's a virus or something. Sorry I am very noob to computers and things.

If you click the main menu and then click the send token button, it should pull up to send dialogue box where you can enter information and send.
There does appear to be an issue with right clicking on tokens and having the click do nothing, which I will look into later today, however, you should be able to do as send by choosing send from the main menu -

Yes, I believe if you read back what has been said in this chat in the past few hours, I acknowledge that right clicking on a token does not seem to be working properly, and I will look into that in a few….. however, if you also watch the video that I just posted, it will clearly show you that you can click the main menu and then click send token and that pulls up the dialogue box where you can enter. Send information.

I believe the right click stuff is not working because in this release I use the latest version of nwjs.io, which appears to have some issues with right clicks…. I should be able to create some builds later today which will resolve this right click issue… until that time. Please use the main menu at the top right corner of the screen to perform your functions.👍🏻

Unknown error is an error that is coming directly from the counterparty API and is not a FreeWallet specific issue… the counterparty API does randomly throw errors like that now and the only solution seems to be to retry your transaction again…
Copy your MPA send list, close the end window, reopen it, and paste your send list again and try again -
Also, when you see an error message, take note at the very top of the error message. If the title bar says counterparty API error, know that that error is coming directly from the counterparty API and is not an issue within FreeWallet, but rather an issue in the counterparty API

Again, when you see the error that says limit reached, does it say counterparty API error at the top of your screen?
In the future, it will be helpful for you to take note of if the error is coming from FreeWallet or from the counterparty API .
The limit reached could be coming from the counterparty API or it could be limited of you broadcasting transactions through a third-party API like chain.so. -

Yes, easy asset domain name expired and so all of the assets that pointed to easy asset Jason now no longer load images and content….. This is why I suggest users host their own Jason and images on GitHub, to avoid situations where a third-party service goes down and affects your token

I believe signing from Segway addresses works fine and the older version… but signing from legacy address is no longer worked until the latest release yesterday.

If a token is a part of a project, then the asset image shown is taken from the project…. So there could be some assets which point to easy asset art, which still show images.

Unfortunately I am getting "Unknown Error" every single time I try to do a MPMA send - restarted FW, restarted Computer, tried about 15 times (using v2.0.2)
(BTW regular sends are fine, just have to send SO many assets)

Hrm... after some digging... it seems like the CP API throws an error for any MPMA transactions more than 2 sends... unfortunately this is not something that I can control.... as it is an issue inside Counterparty-core with MPMA sends being broken yet again.

they will prolly get it fixed in the next release... but the concerning thing is that it is broken for the last 2 releases and no one really noticed.... they talk about having a great test suite and stuff being backwards compatible, but that is sure not what I see in my testing.. i found mpmas missing memos, I found mpmas not working... stuff doesn't really seem to be "found" until it is out in production and effecting users.

I've followed the instructions that adam has given for how to report issue and repeat it, so, tough to dispute it is an issue... so we will have to wait and see what his response is... hopefully it gets fixed and MPMA is not called a "bug" and disabled (I joke, but that's happened... origin functionality, per-send asset memos, etc)

Yup… as I said, I only updated to counterparty-core two days ago at which point everyone using FreeWallet started having issues with MPMA…. Most likely what you were seeing was people using FreeWallet to do MPMA sends using the older version of counterparty before 10.9…. But once I upgraded to counterparty core 10.9, MPMA sends stopped working.
Feel free to try to do an MPMA send yourself to confirm the issue🤷🏻♂️ -

Unisat and FreeWallet use different derivation paths… so the address is that you see when you use a 12 word passphrase will be different. I personally don’t use unisat, so I can’t answer questions about it🤷🏻♂️

Pull up your task manager and make sure that there’s not FreeWallet already running in a background process…. If there is kill it off and then you should be able to open FreeWallet…. You also might want to try uninstalling and reinstalling the FreeWallet app because perhaps your installation became corrupted

You should be able to import the private key for any address into FreeWallet and use it…. The 12 word phrase is a different story, but private keys linked to a specific address and you can import private keys into FreeWallet and use the address.

Yeah, when you open FreeWallet, it does open up a bunch of background rendering processes…. FreeWallet is essentially just a website running in a chrome browser, so all of those processes you see starting up are normal and are not a problem….. the problem is that in some instances when you close FreeWallet, those background processes seem to not exit, and then when you try to open FreeWallet, since it is already still running in the background, it fails to produce a usable window…. This doesn’t happen consistently and only happens on a few people’s computers occasionally, but you are correct when pulling up the task manager and looking at FreeWallet, you can see many processes with the FreeWallet name have been spawned… Each of these processes is a background renderer just like in chrome

That appears to be the case… the two latest releases of counterparty-core seem to have issues with generating MPMA transactions…. No response or explanation from Adam, simply marked it as a possible bug…. So unfortunately, I think we just need to wait until Adam and team get around to fixing this issue.
I wish there was something I could do on my end to get MPMA sends working again, but unfortunately, it is an issue in counterparty-core and not in FreeWallet.
Perhaps weighing in on the GitHub issue with your feedback, will elevate the priority level and get it fixed faster🤷🏻♂️
It seems like most issues fly under the radar until people make lots of noise…. Others were having issues with MPMA and signing transactions generated using the latest versions of counterparty, but no one really spoke up about their issues until I stepped forward and identified what the problem was… and was told that the updates were to fix a “bug”🤷🏻♂️
Who knew producing signable raw transactions would be considered a bug🤷🏻♂️ not worth arguing anymore, I do my best to just simply identify the issues and report them up to Adam and team🤷🏻♂️ -

You’d have to ask the horizon developers about that…. As far as I know, they still use the counterparty API to generate transactions…. They probably are signing them a bit differently than everyone else since they are now forcing version two transactions and everything else uses version one transactions in signing…. But that is something that you would need to discuss with them directly., as I do not use or follow Horizon wallet development

By all means if MPM a sends are working in Horizon wallet, you should use Horizon wallet to do your MPMA sends in the short term…. At least until they get the counterparty API working in such a way that other users of counterparty other than horizon wallet users are able to use the same functionality.

Nothing changed in the way that FreeWallet generated MPA transactions in the past few months, the only changes have been to the counterparty core side of things

If there were more active wallets and users using those counterparty wallets, I’m sure this issue would’ve been identified quicker…. However, it seems issues are only identified and reported when they break in FreeWallet.

This is why the new releases have been out for a month or so and no one has reported any issues with MPMA sends until things started breaking in FreeWallet…. Kind of shows you what wallet people still prefer to use🤷🏻♂️😜

Also kind of interesting to me that other wallet, developers like rare Pepe Wallet have not raised any issues about the latest transaction signing issues… I would think with the transaction version changing from one to two that rare Pepe wallet would have issues signing the transactions as well and ask about how to sign them publicly… the fact that I’ve seen no public discussions about problems with signing seems to indicate that either no one else has noticed, or that Joe has resolved his signing issues in private conversations with Adam rather than public conversations which everyone could benefit from🤷🏻♂️

It does seem the only time issues get addressed is when FreeWallet is entirely cut out of being mentioned…. Which is why in the GitHub issue that I created I only posted URLs to generate the transaction using the counterparty API and made no mention of FreeWallet….. tough to say it is not a counterparty core issue when the only thing involved is counterparty core

I guess I'm just comparing the idea of uncloseable dispensers to this. You said they don't work because you could lose something by setting a price to high. You cant lose on the Dex. You can lose the same asset as an atomic swap or use it to rug a dispenser. Losing an asset as a swap has happened more recently than someone losing bitcoin to a dispenser

The only thing that will stop people from losing assets, using atomic swaps with asset bound to UTXO’s as if they only use a counterparty compatible wallet when doing anything in that address…. This is one of the main reasons why I have no plans to add atomic swaps to FreeWallet anytime in the near future….. anyone who uses FreeWallet and then goes and imports that address into electron or any other non-counterparty wallet will wind up losing funds because the other wallet will spend the UTXO with assets attached to them…. The exact same thing that stacked did.
With dispensers, the risk was on the buyers not rushing a dispenser payment to the dispenser quickly …. With atomic swaps, the risk is on the sellers who can accidentally lose their assets by using any wallet that is not counterparty compatible
I don’t wanna have atomic swaps in FreeWallet and have people claiming that they lost things from doing atomic swaps in FreeWallet …. I’d rather let Horizon handle atomic swaps and all the heat that will come from people using non-counterparty compatible wallets to send BTC and losing assets…. It’s already happened quite a few times and will only get worse as the number of people using atomic swaps increases.
There is other safer ways to do atomic swaps, which I will be exploring in exchange platform later this year -
Same with safer cross chain atomic swaps as well…. IMO… binding assets to UTXO’s, which can then be unintentionally spent is a mistake…. And better solutions will be appearing in the future.

ok so first lets check you are importing address that begins in "bc1q" - which is a Segwit address
and i assume you are importing an address you created with Unisat or "ordinals" type wallets?
- first make sure you are getting the private key from Unisat for the specific "bc1q" address
then in Freewallet you click the "Address Actions" tab in the upper right and choose "Add Address" and choose the Bech32 format. I included a screenshot with the option
then an example of what you would put in the field is:

That’s probably related to the newest version of counterparty, which does away with address indexers and instead decide to use Electrs to pull utxo data…

I would open up the debug console and FreeWallet take a look at the console and copy the URL that is in red and then report the issue in the counterparty channel….. if you mention FreeWallet, they will ignore your issue… however, if you give the URL directly to the counterparty API that they can click that results in an error it’s difficult for them to refuse that it is a counterparty issue and they will be forced to look into it

It was me who wanted to import my wallet from unisat to free Wallet But when I put the keywords the wallet does not appear among the others So you asked to put the wallet on sgwit and import my private key but when I tried Where I should import my private key, well it is the wallet number that had to be chosen, well I put 100 and imported 100 wallet where my wallet was still not, I resumed the operation And finally there were 210 Swigt wallets so I scrolled but still found nothing so I don't really know what to do anymore

If you import a private key and it says that one wallet address was added to your wallet then that address should show up in your imported tab

You import a private key by clicking the address drop-down from the main menu and then selecting import private key…. You then paste your private key and you get a message indicating if the import added an address or not….. after which point you can pull up a list of addresses click the imported tab and see any imported addresses….. it sounds like you got stuck in the wrong menu clicking add address rather than import private key

I think you are mistaking the Counterparty Decentralized Exchange for other Centralized exchanges and other coins not on Counterparty out there that trade against bitcoin.

If you want BTC for your tokens, then your best bet is to look up the current price of those tokens and set up a dispenser to sell the tokens for slightly under or above the last price

Not related to FW more TokenScan and not sure how hard the change is but it would be great if the description did not require a .json at the end to be parsed as a json description. People are uploading to Arweave and have valid paths but I do not think that are getting parsed due to no .json at the end. If wrong place to post please delete and tell me where -

Gm to all XCP enjoyors. Since easyasset is dow, i try to change descruiption to my BTCTRUMP card, with a bigger adress (Arweave Asset URL). I downloaded the last verson of FW but when i do the change (after paying an additionnal fee of 3$), FW generate a transction id which is unfoundable. I tried many times and same results (exept my BTC amount is decreasing). Any issue to this ?

You have the choice on what address to sweep or send to. You can always log out (save your 12 words phrase first!)
Then log in with a new seed phrase....
Fork situation sucks, but they are separate ledgers for a reason and have separate explorers. -
Freewallet is deterministic so same seed (assuming you clicked the correct seed type, which is either BIP39 or Counterwallet style) will generate the same addresses each time
but it is always important to test and try.... i can see alot of merit and value in testing first to be sure!
keep in mind you gotta backup any imported addresses (singular address private key's) that may be derived from different seeds -

Dispensers only work with btc and an asset/token…. To view the nft simply click the asset name and load the asset page
