Things are cooking now... making some serious database and code optimizations... as time goes on, it will become abundantly clear how much better XChain platform is vs Counterparty... both in data storage and in code design... having fun š
-
Should finish off the indexer and test suite this month... and get busy writing the multi-chain wallet with heirarchial passphrase support in May.... getting much closer to the finish line

Sweeping only moves balances and token ownershipā¦. It does not move tokens that are escrowed in orders or dispensersā¦. If you want to move everything including your escrow tokens, then you need to cancel your orders and close your dispensers before you do the sweep
-
-
-
Yes, to sweep you switched to the address you want to sweep and then you enter the destination address that you would like to sweep the tokens to

I sent a dispenser to a secondary address several hours ago. it got placed in my primary address anyway

Dispensers have changed recently and functionality changed with it.
In the past you could open a dispenser with an asset on your main address to a secondary address in 1 transaction.
Now you must send the asset to the dispenser secondary address, then set the dispenser up from the secondary address...
If confused check the "Setting Up A Dispenser" and "Viewing Creating and Importing Addresses" section of the user manual...
When closing a dispenser it takes 5 confirmation blocks for the funds (tokens) to be returned... Also check out the user manual for more info on that!
Sweeps do not sweep the BTC. Only tokens and token ownerships -
Maybe you should talk to the core counterparty developers who decided to make this change to how dispensers work without community consensusā¦. I agree itās annoying, but unfortunately, your complaining in the wrong place, this was not a change made by freewallet (we opposed the change), but rather a change by ADAM to the way counterparty works⦠the change happened in October, and is part of the reason for the counterparty classic fork (dispensers continue to work as expected on counterparty classic)
-
Bitcoin is NOT a token, it is a native currency as it lives outside of counterparty and sweeps have never moved the BTCā¦. Tho Iāll add that as a feature on xchain platform
-
-
Thanks for your feedback on sweeps⦠itās helping me see what is frustrating in counterparty n make sure the same thing doesnāt happen in xchain platformšš»

Most ppl are staying on cp2 n waiting to see what happensā¦. Some ppl using classic but im not really pushing usage of it⦠more focused on building xchain platform with more options, easier to understand n use features, and cross-chain functionalityā¦.. not gonna push anyone from CP to xchain platform, but def going to make it easier to use than CP, support many blockchains in the same platform (instead of just btc like counterparty does)ā¦. And of course, provide rails to make it very easy for asset owners to migrate their tokens and communities to xchain platformšš»

Hey jdog 1 million transactions per second via xchain and lightning would be a cool feature I heard from Saylor.
-
-
Xchain platform consists of an encoder, a decoder in an index or which can be plugged into any Blockchain⦠initially it will just support Bitcoin litecoin and Dogecoinā¦. But we can easily add support for any other Blockchain to our backendā¦. So it will be easy to plug-in any Blockchain that exists or any new one that pops up in the futureā¦. And all the chains that X chain platform supports will be able to use the cross chain platforms like Oracle cross chain atomic swaps, as well as pretty quickly adding support for a cross chain decentralized exchange (DEX)ā¦
-
Xchain platform is just a token platform that rides on top of any underlying block chain and adds cross chain functionalityā¦. So the million transactions per second portion of things would need to be supported in the underlying Blockchainā¦. But as I said, exchange platform can be easily added to any Blockchain.
-
exciting times thank you
-
How does the cross-chain functionality of xchain work, and is there a simple example?
-
Xchain is a token platform, so how can tokens on BTC perform various operations on Doge?
-
-
-
-
Once the platform is ready, it will all be open sourced and it will become clear how all this cross-blockchain stuff happens... still in the process of finishing off the indexer, then explorer, then wallet... then before launch gonna circle back around and build out the cross-chain functionality... have worked out the technicals of how it can all work... there will be a centralized component, but only used whenever the cross-chain functionality is used, and the cross-chain stuff will be verifyable on both chains that are involved int he cross-chain stuff š
-
can't really give out more info than that other than to say... its coming, and its awesome š

Looking for a dev to build tg utility tools, token launchpad, NFT drop site, gambling platform, and meme token dashboard?
-
Xchain launch party gonna be lit AF!
Maybe Reno or Vegas? š -
-
a launch party feels kinda pumpy.... plan is to just release it into the wild one day and let ppl go wild on it... if there is any value in what has been built, it will get attention generically.... but once I get closer to launch, bringing on a good friend as COO and we will coordinate on the best way to launch the platform, etc.
-
-
-
-
I'll prolly start crashing some of the counterparty parties... skipping TEST party in vegas this year cuz too much vitrol (Shawn and Joe Looney) and anger.... was really stabbed in the back this year (my perspective) by them.... Joe I expected it from, as he did it a year earlier at the previous fork when he tried to get me thrown off the dev team behind my back, all while smiling to my face and blowing smoke up my ass, but shawn was a bit of a suprise.... anyway... I am choosing to put my time/energy into positive things.... maybe next year i'll start heading to some more events... Def will do an interview with GMoney around launch time... he kindly extended an invitation to come on his show when closer to launch
-
Keep me posted if anything I can help with.
-
Gonna build some rails to make it easy AF to use xchain platform and migrate things from CP for those who choose to go that route.... a bit easier to be at some CP events when its not just my talking about how there is a better path and i'm seen as the bad "toxic" dev.... better to just build what I envision and then I can happily take any criticizim to my face.... til then, it'd all just be wasted energy... and I choose to focus on what I love, playing with the tech and building š

Pepe's sitting around a card table in a dark Smoky room glassy-eyed stairs trying to keep their best poker faces on one of them oh yeah well I've got four games of trump cards thinks he won the hand goes to claim the chips second frog but wait I've got four OG games of trump cards....
𤯠-
Will definitely be launching my rare pepe deriviative subasset project on the xchain platform... so maybe that can bridge some of the divide and build some CP / XChain / PEPE unity... pepe community is way larger than the scientists... and John Villar (RIP) wouldn't want the disagreements of some of the scientists to stop the evolution.... Joe can keep working in his wallet from 2016... I'm working on the next evolution for pepe with Javier... John's brother... keeping the pepe experimentation alive š
-
mafiawars.io, modernrelics.io, ruderelics.io, ancientrelics.io, raredogedirectory.com, rarerejectdirectory.com, and a few more ... lots more experimentation going on on my end since rare pepe project... i'm here for the building and learning and dancing on the edge of what is possible... wish more ppl were here for that... we all have our individiual reasons for being involved in crypto š

watching charts of red and green dildos... or sticking around to live in the past glory of something that was built years ago does not appeal to me... evolve or die is my motto... well, one of them š

-
Isnāt xchain interoperable with counterparty?
-
Fuck ya !!
-
Pepe is first in line when the doors open !! LFGXCHAIN
-
nope..... it is an entirely separate platform, has many of the same features (issue tokens, send, dispensers, etc)... but the platforms are entirely independent
-
let CP do their own thing, and choose their own path... and a different path is set out for XChain... there is some overlap, in that assets registered before block 866000 will have their asset name pre-registered on XChain, and the asset owners will be the same as at block 866000.... so, anyone who registered a token on Counterparty over the past 10 years will also have their token registered on XChain platform.... but, that is prettymuch the only overlap.... if a token owner wants to try things out on xchain platform, they can do so easily, as they already have the asset name registered to their address.... and will be very easy for them to "port" (move balances) from CP over to XChain platform if they so desire š
- 08 April 2025 (46 messages)
-
You sayin the owners can choose to sell/distribute their token supply again or they can pay it as dividend according to the balances at block 866000?
-
Can GAS on BTC and Doge still be mined currently?
-
-
This could potentially make CP classic assets quite sought after.
-
-
-
yes
-
i'm saying asset owners on CP will own the same asset name on XCHAIN... If say for instance, SOG wanted to move their game over to run on XCHAIN instead of CP, or in addition to CP... they already own all the asset names necessary.... all that would be required is them to issue supply on those tokens on XCHAIN and then airdrop those new XCHAIN tokens to the holders of the SOG assets on CP..... at that point, SOG would have tokens on both XCHAIN and Counterparty, with the exact same holders... and they could either use one platform or the other or both...... Not trying to force ppl to use one or the other, but the way XCHAIN is being launched (respecting old issuances) allows for making it pretty easy to port games and tokens from one platform to another š
-
-
Another option would be for SOG to issue supply for tokens on XCHAIN, but hold on to them, and then tell their holders "We are moving to XCHAIN, if you want your XCHAIN token, simply destroy your SOG token and tell us your destroy tx hash and we will send you the subsequent XCHAIN token".... in this way, the supply can stay the exact same and SOG can support both "old" tokens as well as "new" tokens without blowing up the supply
-
lots of interesting things ahead.... my main focus is on building a dope platform and playing with advanced cross-chain functionality... and not vampire-attacking Counterparty... but, not gonna lie, its pretty easy to do with the tools provided š
-
-
-
-
-
is it also overlapping with dogeparty?
-
Yes, the platform will launch with initial support for Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Dogecoin... but we have built it in such a way that it can work with ANY blockchain, and can be configured to work with any blockchain with minimal tweaks :)
-
and yes.. the dogeparty asset ownerships will be copied over to the initial launch of the xchain ledger on dogecoin... so ppl on dogeparty can easily migrate to / use xchain on DOGE if they so desire š
-
and a brand new ledger on Litecoin... so i imagine a bit of a token name goldrush there since it will launch with no token names at all so it'll be wide open for ppl to register anything
-
amazing things can happen when you separate the encoder/decoder/indexer š
-
On the BTC, DOGE, and LTC platforms, if the token name is the same but the issuer(owner) is different, it will confuse users. Can the token names across all platforms be made non-repeatable?
-
What about the tokens we've already minted on both chains beside Gas?
-
Itās no more confusing than having the same token name on counterparty and doge party at the same timeā¦. As long as it is clearly indicated which chain the token is on itās not a problemā¦.
Youāre thinking of everything and all tokens being displayed in a single block explorer and getting confusedā¦. That is not how this will be workingā¦. Just like you can see the individual transactions on bitcoin with counterparty or Dogecoin with doge party X chain will function in a similar way..
Trying to maintain a single Name space across all the various block chains is not something that the platform is focused on ā¦. Xchain platform is a token platform, which can be spun up on any block chain, and enables swapping of tokens between the various chainsā¦. Trying to keep a single Namespace among all supportive chains would be greatly limiting the usage of the platform -
Users that have used the BTNS system in someway on either counterparty or dogeparty will get xchain token airdrops, however, tokens that are registered on BTNS only live on BTNSā¦. BTNS is an experimental proof of concept platform and was never intended to be a production system.
-
everything will become clear when the platform gets closer to launchingā¦. Best to just wait and see šš»
-
Thanks J-Dog!
Wishing you all the best as the platform launch approaches! -
Hereās a question: If not all platforms maintain unique token names, then for a token on the BTC chain that is cross-chained to Doge, what token name would be used on Doge? For example, if thereās a USDT token on BTC and itās cross-chained to Doge or LTC, what would the token name be on those chains?
-
Your question leads me to believe that youāre thinking that tokens will migrate between blockchains, like a rarepepe token will leave the xchain BTC chain and move to the xchain Dogecoin chainā¦.. that is not how the cross chain swaps work⦠The swap is literally swapping one token for another on a different chainā¦.. like trading a rarePepe BTC token for a raredogecash Dogecoin token.
As I said, it will all become clear once the platform is open sourced and launched. šš» -
Token migration is just one aspect; another, more important aspect is that for ordinary users, the same token name generally implies the same meaning. If the names are the same but the actual tokens are different, it can easily breed scams. There are many USDT tokens on ERC20, and lots of scammers exploit this confusion to deceive people.
-
Is this cross chain aggregation?
-
If token migration is supported, thereās another huge benefit: when BTC transaction fees are too high, the same token can be used for various operations on low-fee chains like Doge.
-
In fact, if cross-chain token swapping is supported, implementing token migration would be very easy. Token migration simply involves destroying tokens on one chain and minting the same amount of tokens on another chain. The key is to properly maintain token names to avoid confusion.
-
Thereās another question: If token migration isnāt supported, does that mean the official token GAS exists independently on each chain? Could the price of GAS then potentially differ across different chains?
-
Gas existed as a utility token on BTNS on each chain, as BTNS was just a proof of concept, to flesh out some of the features and functionality to be used in the X chain platform.
There will only be one XChain token, and it will exist on the Bitcoin Blockchain, however, all of the chains that are supported by X chain platform will be able to use the XChain token to pay for any required XChain fees that the transaction will requireā¦
This is another custom piece of the Xchain platform which will become clear once the platform is released⦠but would probably only generate additional questions and possible confusion if I tried to explain it further now.
The quick version is that you will be able to pay for both the underlying Blockchain transaction as well as pay for any xchain token required using the chains native coin (BTC, LTC, DOGE).
The goal is to make using the platform as easy as possible, without having to worry about purchasing a utility token separatelyā¦. One tx paid in the native coin handles covering the miner fee and any xchain utility token purchase. -
Ok, Thank you for your patient explanation.
-
-
YES! And ability to sell multiple tokens in a single dispenser, ability to trigger dispensers with tokens (and eventually cross-chain dispensers)
So looking forward to all the fun stuff we building to push the limits and technology forwardā¤ļø -

I have not been able to repeat this issue as of yet, and my focus is currently on XChain platform. I will revisit this issue when I have some more time to focus back on FreeWallet. If your having issues with creating dispensers in freewallet, you might want to try using horizon wallet to setup the dispensers for now.

Gotta make sure your transaction actually is mined on a blockchain before you can say things are not working... from what i'm seeing, I dont see your transaction anywhere on the BTC network
-
maybe you didn't pay a high enough tx fee to get it relayed / mined? Try again... cuz I dont see your transaction... once you have a transaction that is actually showing up on the bitcoin network, then we can start diagnosing any issues... but not seeing that happening right now.

Got it thanks. Just used the suggested fee in fw. I'll retry with higher fee in a bit. Thx!

Cp n xchain are 2 entirely separate platformsā¦. Just that assets that were registered at 866000 are also registered to the asset owners on xchain ( just asset ownership, no supply/balances)⦠so asset owners can do what they want on xchainā¦. A sort of love letter to the CP n DP communities

GIVEKUDOS ?
I've got 200,000 GIVEKUDOS Rarepepe for sale.. -
i have a question about subassets. awhile back i made an asset, it sold a bunch & i sent a bunch, then i sent out a subasset to everyone. if i do some more sales & giveaways for that primary card do i need to do the subasset as a multisend manually from now on?
-
You could do dividend⦠one small tx sends your new subasset to all holders of your main asset
-
If you just want to make sure all holders of the main asset get their subasset token, without a full dividend to all holders of the assetā¦. Then yes a multisend to new holders of the main asset is the way
-
Have you ever seen anyone pay BTC dividends to all cardholders? I believe its possible, but I have never heard of anyone doing it
-
I think it works only with tokens ...
-
Yes afaik it only works with tokens on counterpartyā¦. Tho it will work on xchain platformšš»

S16 E22: J-Dog on Counterparty & Bitcoin Tokens
J-Dog is the former maintainer of Bitcoin's Counterparty protocol ā a role which he fulfilled for about 8 years. Under his stewardship, XCP witnessed the creation of legendary collections such as Spells of Genesis, Rare Pepes, and Fake Rares ā even my Bitcoin Heads and Leftist Tears were created when he was the lead developer and he provided some useful advice. Today, J-Dog builds the FreeWallet.io Counterparty wallet and the TokenScan.io blockchain explorer (formerly Xchain.io). He maintains opinions which diverge from those of current maintainer Adam Krellenstein (who joined the show in S16 E14) and even claims that the Counterparty protocol was forked at block 866000.
