    not exactly a freewallet question but here goes - anyone ever seen a txn like this?
    https://mempool.space/tx/6d5850d53a60caef35e9c3ed77fbeaf00f30a912ea428492af5cf3ad3f409603

    i sent BTC from a wallet who's BTC came as a result of dispenser sales - seems like something odd happening when attmepting to send to another wallet with all of those inputs

    (i had to use blockcypher to broadcast this txn after trying to send via freewallet)
  • @c0rnh0li0 ↶ Reply to #5724 #5726 02:40 PM, 03 Jan 2024
    Every time you had a dispenser sale, a new UTXO was created in that wallet. So it takes a lot of inputs and fees to consolidate that down
  • @booo_urns #5727 02:40 PM, 03 Jan 2024
    is it better to consolidate before trying to send then?
  • @booo_urns #5728 02:41 PM, 03 Jan 2024
    and if so is there a good way to do this in freewallet or would i need to use electrum or something
  • @AryanJab ↶ Reply to #5727 #5729 02:42 PM, 03 Jan 2024
    It's best to consolidate when fees are low. No real need to consolidate except to pay lower fees (an investment now to pay lower fees at some future point in time).
  • @booo_urns ↶ Reply to #5729 #5730 02:50 PM, 03 Jan 2024
    got it. and is it safe to assume that freewallet does not do a good job of estimating fee rates for txns like these
  • @AryanJab #5731 02:51 PM, 03 Jan 2024
    If your transaction came out with that fee rate, yep, I'd bet...
  • @booo_urns #5732 02:51 PM, 03 Jan 2024
    pretty sure my fee rate is way low
  • @AryanJab ↶ Reply to #5732 #5733 02:51 PM, 03 Jan 2024

  • @B0BSmith ↶ Reply to #5728 #5735 03:09 PM, 03 Jan 2024
    You can do it in freewallet but you wont know how many inputs are being consolidated Electrum is better choice as shows you more info and you can make use of RBF, so you can 'low ball' the tx fee and wait and or bump it if you find you are in more of a hurry
  • @AryanJab ↶ Reply to #5735 #5736 03:11 PM, 03 Jan 2024
    Does Electrum let you choose UTXOs?
  • @B0BSmith #5737 03:11 PM, 03 Jan 2024
    yeah - view "coins" and then you can freeze the utxos you do not wish to include/use as inputs
  • @jdogresorg ↶ Reply to #5730 #5738 03:26 PM, 03 Jan 2024
    Freewallet fees are based on a tx with one input n 2 outputs… so yeah, not accurate for larger txs…. Will revamp fee estimation in coming weeks

    Hello people!
    I'm quite new to FreeWallet

    but I don't understand where in the UI to find it?
  • @subterranean1 ↶ Reply to #5739 #5740 10:00 AM, 04 Jan 2024
    Did you input a quantity greater than 0? If the tx confirmed, it will appear in your freewallet. You may then update the description to include an image
  • @zeya888 #5741 10:11 AM, 04 Jan 2024

    by gas fee do you mean the 0.5 xcp charge for a named asset or just the bitcoin transaction costs? was this a stamp (numeric asset) you minted or was it BTNS using the broadcast function?

    Hi, I sent 100XCP from RPW to a Freewallet addy. Tx is confirmed https://blockstream.info/tx/bddec9744a94211398df9c41ee5a1fe3257a17eb1b0c60d493e7abbd0ebbe19c, but XCP never arrived. RPW shows balance -100 XCP and receiving addy only saw the tx pending in the mempool. After confirmation balance in the new addy disappeared. Freewallet addy is 1H8mGPcvv2Ess3jxCEsTd4B4gkYiia9Ubq. Xchain doesn't show the tx at all. How do I get my XCP back?

  • @B0BSmith ↶ Reply to #5769 #5772 08:38 AM, 08 Jan 2024
    yeah I think fee related.. when doing a multisend it creates 2 transactions and the second tx spends the outputs of the first. it looks like the first tx has been created zs it's txid is referenced in the error message but it can't be seen in the CP nodes mempool, even tho I expect you will find it in the gargantuan mempool.space mempool.
  • @rarepepetrader ↶ Reply to #5772 #5773 11:33 AM, 08 Jan 2024
    hmmm, I tried 5 times, increasing fee each time...

    does that mean I paid 5 lots of 1st transaction fees and got nowhere? or those utxo's don't get spent because they won't get mined?
  • @B0BSmith #5774 11:33 AM, 08 Jan 2024
    yeah .. type that txid into mempool
  • @B0BSmith #5775 11:33 AM, 08 Jan 2024
    or search address and see if you can see 5 unconfirmed txs

  • @B0BSmith #5779 11:34 AM, 08 Jan 2024
    once one of the tx1s are mined you can use CPAPI to make the tx2 and complte the send so only 4 will be waste
  • @B0BSmith #5780 11:35 AM, 08 Jan 2024
    it needs to be in mempool or block to be useful for the second step in the multisend

    Question:

    I got involved with Counterparty ten years ago, and then forgot about it until a couple days ago.
    I managed to load my wallet using Freewallet, and it shows various assets which Freewallet also shows monetary value of.
    Can I simply send these assets to a BTC address and receive bitcoin?
    The bitcoin blockchain explorer shows the wallet has no bitcoin though. Even though Freewallet gives USD values for the assets.

    Very confused. Any help would greatly appreciated.

    I sent btc from another account to close the dispenser. This triggered dispense of xcp to my account and I closed the dispenser at the same time without realising cancellation of a dispenser takes 5 blocks. Does this mean the dispenser is not close even though the remaining xcp is now back in my dispenser account?

    Thank you for looking into this. The 4 xcp was not a sale, it was me sending btc from another account to this dispenser account and it triggered the dispense. Both xcp dot dev and Freewallet show the same xcp balance which was returned from the dispenser following the closure of the dispenser. However, as you pointed out the dispenser is still showing as open in Freewallet.

  • @davesta #6003 08:39 AM, 14 Jan 2024
    could be to do with when you opened the dispenser and when you closed it with some of these xchain recent changes (it going up and down for maintenance)

    1 "each action you do using the Counterparty protocol will always include a Bitcoin transaction "

    it's actually bitcoin transactions including Counterparty data .. as its embedded consensus

    2 In your multisend example screen shot you are only sending 0.00000001 xcp n not one xcp as its a divisible asset
  • @B0BSmith #6043 08:20 AM, 16 Jan 2024

    Hi! Quick question,

    I have some btc in my freewallet on my phone.

    When I try to send those funds to X address, it always says to enter a valid address. But it is a valid address.

    I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but the only way I can use those funds is when I want to get something in xchain other than that the btc is stuck there.

    Any suggestions?
  • @davesta ↶ Reply to #6053 #6054 02:40 AM, 21 Jan 2024
    most likely the address 'isnt valid' because Freewallet mobile version has not been updated in many years. Since then, newer types of btc addresses, such as Segwit adressess, are more frequently used.

    Simply just use the Freewallet Desktop version 0.9.26 (not the mobile one) - and you will be able to send where you would like.

    The Desktop version is the only version that receives frequent updates. So best to manage your funds and xcp tokens from there.

    both use the Counterparty protocol to interpret Bitcoin transaction data, but yes Counterwallet servers are currently down and they are independent of Freewallet (xchain servers) - check Counterwallet status here: https://counterwallet.io/

    When broadcasting tx from freewallet, better to calculate the fees yourself.

    eg: A minting is 1.22K vB but freewallet thinks is only 534vB... resulting in a lower fees.

    From my expirience, these are the correct fees:

    XCP TX weight
    —————————
    create dispenser == 265 vB
    ⚠️token minting == 1300 vB
    token lock == 235 vB
    ⚠️multisend == 400-650 vB

    eg: minting asset (1300vb) x mempool next block (50sats/vB) = 65.000 sats recommended fee

    I'd like to move to a segwit address... but I don't want to add a low fee and get all assets stuck in the mempool 😝😅

  • @davesta ↶ Reply to #6079 #6080 01:32 PM, 23 Jan 2024
    since it is such an important transaction I would consolidate all the UTXO's on the address first - get an estimation by Electrum wallet for a Flat rate BTC tx and then finally DOUBLE or TRIPLE the amount
  • @davesta ↶ Reply to #6072 #6081 01:32 PM, 23 Jan 2024
    i wrote here how to view and do all the UTXO stuff
  • @davesta #6082 01:33 PM, 23 Jan 2024
    if you are lazy (and know the address doesnt have that many UTXO's) - just input anywhere from 3x-6x the "high fee" setting and it should be fine
  • @davesta #6083 01:34 PM, 23 Jan 2024
    but again, with such an important tx, make sure you can understand how the address will deal with the tx - freewallet always assumes you have 1 input and 2 outputs for fee estimation
  • @davesta #6084 01:34 PM, 23 Jan 2024
    if have more than 1 input (or alot of UTXO's) - then you gotta do the fee estimation manually
  • @davesta #6085 01:35 PM, 23 Jan 2024
    and when you find the answer, bump that fee up even more for safety
  • @NimzoBit ↶ Reply to #6080 #6086 01:36 PM, 23 Jan 2024
    I've got my list of weights for freewallet already:

    XCP TX weights

    btc send == 194 vB
    create dispenser == 265 vB
    token minting == 1300 vB
    token lock == 235 vB
    multisend == 400-650 vB

    I assume it'd be like 1300vB too.

    Freewallet can be buggy from time to time - most users here have ran into that specific error - its a pretty general error and I'd suspect it has to with API's or just getting the correct info from the blockchain - which makes sense on why giving it the ol' 'turn off and turn back on again' works a great deal of the time
  • @davesta #6116 06:58 AM, 24 Jan 2024
    for more specific errors I have made an error FAQ in the pinned on my github - so reading that (even though it was written for 0.9.23) should help alot with understanding certain errors

    Freewallet sends the first transaction and then says there was an error creating the second transaction. When I click OK, the above is displayed. This results in an amount of BTC going to a new address and getting stuck there forever (presumably)

  • @davesta #6144 10:28 AM, 25 Jan 2024
    I can review the transaction ID if you would like, but it most likely has too small of a BTC fee (which also means your sat/vb fee rate is too low) and the transaction is not confirmed yet
  • @davesta #6145 10:29 AM, 25 Jan 2024
    you can review all BTC transactions on a block explorer like: https://blockstream.info/
    Blockstream Block Explorer

  • @davesta ↶ Reply to #6120 #6146 10:34 AM, 25 Jan 2024
    if you do a significant amount of transactions using Freewallet (or doing alot of XCP functions on an address)

    your address will build up UTXO's (which is just dust or change from previous tx's) and the more UTXO's you have on your address, the more it will cost in fees to send all the BTC on your address (or big chunks of BTC).....

    Freewallet doesn't automatically take this into account when showing you a recommended fee, and so your send could have used too small of a fee

    feel free to review this article I wrote to understand why this happens as well as a couple options on how to push this transaction through the network.

    just want to double check that you are sure you are accessing the same address and not just the 'wallet' - the easiest way to do this would be to import your specific private key for that specific address to just be accessing that address only

    This happened to me a while ago, Nothing i could do, if you try and remint it says not available?

    Damn.. have got a back up name, but really much better with the initial. Cheers for the heads up on counterwallet. I do not have that one.
  • @davesta ↶ Reply to #6220 #6235 11:18 PM, 26 Jan 2024
    you can use rarepepewallet.wtf - or any other Bitcoin wallet to do so
  • @davesta ↶ Reply to #6223 #6236 11:20 PM, 26 Jan 2024
    this has happened to me before too - you can mint it using rarepepewallet.wtf i think and then send the token issuance over... could be a Freewallet thing - but its not a protocol thing - if null owns it you can still remint it
  • @davesta ↶ Reply to #6235 #6237 11:20 PM, 26 Jan 2024
    rare pepe wallet simply also supports "counterwallet" style private keys but if you used BIP-39 that is supported by alot of wallets - alot of the community here simply recommends electrum because it is open source and has a great deal of technical information for btc tx's

    works fine for me on my end... dont know why this is an issue sometimes - i wonder maybe if clicking around and refreshing FW could be alot of API requests is my best guess now that i think about it
  • @jdogresorg ↶ Reply to #6222 #6239 11:28 PM, 26 Jan 2024
    that is just an alert in freewallet... you should stil be able do the issuance in freewallet

    Hi frens

    I had a mpma send on with my freewallet yesterday and it finalized the transaction in wallet and gave me a tx and on blockcypher it shows that it has all 6 confirmations but cards are not left the wallet and the tx doesn't show anything on xchain! There's nothing unconfirmed in my wallet. Have you faced such a thing? 🙏
  • @davesta ↶ Reply to #6243 #6247 10:21 AM, 28 Jan 2024
    have you checked the transaction on xcp.dev ?
  • @davesta #6248 10:22 AM, 28 Jan 2024
    as well as xchain.io ? and compared if there is difference between the data?
  • @saedkholousi #6251 10:51 AM, 28 Jan 2024
    Yes, say no CNTRPRTY block transaction found for tx

    On xcp_dev both transactions says no counterparty tx exist
  • @davesta ↶ Reply to #6185 #6259 11:16 AM, 28 Jan 2024
    well we will have to assume that the XCP tx didnt work.... you should explain what happened to you and post it here:
  • @davesta #6260 11:17 AM, 28 Jan 2024
    if Multi-Send is having issues (a few people have reported this) - it should be well documented with your TX and process you used
  • @davesta #6261 11:18 AM, 28 Jan 2024
    Might be best to create another issue instead of writing on that one....
