Hey guys… trying to change description on my token via easy asset link.
Error shows up
“Not enough values to unpack ( expected 2, got 1)
Haven’t had this one before. Any advice would be appreciated -
Worked after about 20 mins… would still like to know what that error means if anyone knows.
-
Hi again, I made a new issue on GitHub fren, just as I noticed the fees in all 3 unsuccessful mpma sending were sent to this addy:
3QNdsAP9MLJQxkonREqe39pKzE9pSBxNDc
is this common? Shouldn't sent to a Null address? -
And you think those 3 transactions may one day complete or they are actually broken?
-
Having no luck figuring this out.
Frustrating but we vikings don't give up🪖🐸
Have the free wallet linux64.tgz in my downloads folder, I open it and open the free wallet folder, then see the install.sh and the freewallet.desktop
from there if I double click the install sh just brings up software manager..
Double click the desktop. And just get freewallet.desktop(~/.cache/.fr-cZES5h/FreeWallet) description of the program...
Sorry to bother any of you.. any words of wisdom.
Literally just want to buy XCP and pepes but my phone is only thing I've used for 10 years... Figuring out Linux for future 🪖 -

this is a more general error and most likely has to do with the API's not updating - i would try a restart of the program, a restart of your computer - and if that both fails, try changing the fee slightly.....
if THAT doesnt work I would check how many inputs are on your address - updating a description is a pretty hefty sat/vb if i remember correctly and that could cause this error if you are not starting with 1 single input on your address -
also could be an issue with API's if you use a VPN - so try toggling that on and off and see if that helps - i know jdog suggests that every now and then too
-
-
let me know what works and we can help others in the future :) - i am about to update some descriptions so i am interested too

see the notes I just wrote back to Pepenardo above ❤️

lots of good information in the pinned message here....

this has been noted before and has to do with where your inputs came from:

depends on the TX's sat/vb

here are the default server settings:

the default ones work for me... and that is the limit to my knowledge about this.... though when the new API is created from the XCP devs I will absolutely look into the process of how to connect to it
-
I wouldn't be suprised if you could connect to specific hosts of xchain - such as http://host1.xchain.io/

lol, such shitty UX.
I set the "High Priority" fee, it was about $4, so I assumed it would be right. But due to the high number of inputs and outputs, it's at 9.16 s/vb and it's gonna be stuck in the mempool for months. Also, no RBF so I can't boost the fee.
Does anyone still get paid to maintain this? -
no one ever did - it was simply a wallet jdog built to experiment with counterparty
and yes sat/vb is the #1 needed update - alot of us have been frustrated for ..... years.... about this
https://github.com/jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop/discussions/156Show sat/vB and allow user to set fee rate · jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop · Discussion #156People often want to set the fee rate in sat/vB to know how quickly their transaction would confirm and how expensive it is relative to other transactions (regardless of # UTXOs used). The fee rate...
-
you can use Child Pays for Parent to try to get this through - for many tx's with xcp i do the sat/vb calculation with Electrum
-
I have also began to keep looking back at this list by Nimzo to calculate sat/vb rates more accurately - also checking past blockchain data to manually set a flat BTC rate
-
The sat/vB for this tx is 20.5 but on the other hand the fees are sent to a P2SH address which hasn't any other transaction before, so I hope all 3 mpma sends fail because I sent the cards one by one to the collectors.
-
GM. Having this issue also, tried twice in case was a momentary thing but failed again
It generates and sends the first transaction of the multisend, but in the moment for the second it gives the error: Error validating transaction: Error running script for input 0 referencing e1c036400254ec0b4e7735a62e5b07e0cb8dee7ab05fc289b35fb62a1617163e at 0: scriptsig not push only for P2SH. -
This is not an issue with FreeWallet…. The transactions are generated by counterparty…. All the FreeWallet does is talk to counterpart and sign the transactions.
So I would suggest you bring up this issue with the counterpart developers , as it is a counterparty issue…. It’s only appearing in FreeWallet since FreeWallet is the only wallet that you can do multi-sends in…. But to be clear… the issue is in counterparty, not FreeWallet - 30 January 2024 (5 messages)

Ola there, managed to donate some sats via Freewallet but can't seem to be able to send XCP assets. getting stuck on "Broadcasting counterparty transaction..." or smth. Anyone else? PS: Not using latest version 9.2.0 or smth
-
nm me. had to up the vb/sats
-
or not. worked for one asset. but then stuck again. 😢
-
First off I would recommend using the latest version of Freewallet which is 0.9.26 - a few things have been updated since then
secondly - every time you do a BTC tx (especially an XCP tx) your address is going to receive some change back in BTC (also called UTXO's). The more 'change back' you acquire on your address, the more expensive BTC transactions become.
I explain it in detail here: https://medium.com/@davesta.xcp/understanding-btc-fees-and-utxos-when-using-counterparty-ae22f40b642aUnderstanding BTC fees and UTXO’s when using CounterpartyBitcoin transaction fees (sometimes abbreviated to ‘BTC tx fees’) allow users to prioritize their transactions over other users to be…
-
Also depending on if you are using the multi-send function it looks like there is some issues happening with how the counterparty protocol is handling this request explained in what Jdog wrote above

something is messed up with the fees, either on freewallet or xchain, but its really messed up recently,i just did a few transactions on rarepepewallet and it worked flawless, with way lower fees and no wait
-
late to update on this. but still getting errors after trying troubleshooting. a new error i get occasionally says, "Error composing issuance transaction via API: string indices must be integers"
-

just tested a subasset token mint with an easyasset description with a $3.50 recommended fee with a clean 1input address and did a $12 fee (3-4x recommended) and tx is 44 sat/vb with a 17.9 effective sat/vb fee rate
Freewallet is not estimating fee's correctly for asset description and token minting
there are so many reports of issues with multi-sends and any larger tx's with Freewallet at the moment....
