Strange thing happened, 2 days ago, totally out of the blue, 22 of my cards were sent to another wallet that I traded with 2+ months ago. Thinking it must've been a transaction that just finally went through or something, the original transaction (the trade 2 months ago) took weeks to process and didn't work a few of the first times I tried to send (error message when trying to process multi-send)
-
-
-
the sats/vb dropped considerably over the weekend... so some really low-fee txs were processed... could be you paid a low fee, so the tx just hung in mempool, but was not relayed to most nodes since it was below their relay threshold... hence why it would not show up as a pending tx on some explorers, etc.... then bitcoin fees dropped, low fee txs got processed, and presto, your tx got mined.... guessing that is what happened... since CP doesn't ever move funds without a confirmed tx.
-
better fee estimation (next release) will really help with a bunch of these "my tx is stuck" issues

Hello. Thanks for this. Sadly it didn't fix the autolock issue for me on Mac OS X
-
Tried downgrading to .23 and also won't work
-
You want it?
-
Another scammer shilling here , just a heads up everyone
-
If you upgraded and still have the locking issue, you need to reset your Wallet and re-enter your 12 word pass phrase… that should get around the locking issue
-
Word of caution if you've imported private keys to the wallet, your seed phrase won't bring those back in. Any imported address (like from Emblem) you'll need that private key to load it again. Otherwise you'll lose them.
A heads up 🤟 -
Quit trying to sell cards here or you'll get the boot

Anyone have the issue on apple iOS where only assets to a certain point are accessible? For example, I can’t access any asset that starts with I through Z.
Issue on mobile app only -
I think mobile app has limit of 500 or so assets

Mobile version is super outdated. Check releases link in pinned to see more details of where the updates stopped on mobile vs desktop
-
Eventually will make freewallet browser-based n mobile friendly…. Hopefully mid next year
-
Do you plan to upload the apk to github?
-
Nope… apk n ipa are apple n android specific formats…. Not gonna do native builds, just a browser-based version that runs in mobile and desktop
-
OK no f droid as well am guessing
-
again, prolly no native, just browser based... which SHOULD work on any device 🙂

Got it

Any one knows why electrum wont let me import my private keys from freewallet
Not the electrum desktop but the app
Any help is appreciated - 05 October 2023 (4 messages)

This is not an ADS issue….. MPMA sends are two txs… each tx requires a miners fee… hence spending 2x the entered tx fee….
When in doubt, check the actual btc tx fees (also how you can easily determine this is not an ADS issue… no ads outputs👍🏻 -

Hey guys ,anyone can help me
Am trying to move some xcp assets at once
Is it possible to multisend tokens / pepes or whatever using freewallet iOS version? -
- 09 October 2023 (2 messages)
-
The easiest way to do this would be to:
1st: use the Freewallet.io Desktop version like @sn_noop2 mentioned. The official link for that is here:
https://github.com/jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop/releases/tag/v0.9.25
2nd: Then you would use the multisend function in the desktop version for sending a few tokens of different types and quantities to an exterior address. Info for that is here:
https://gist.github.com/davestaxcp/1e2cc086a13c9a2d045876852b57e5be#using-the-multi-send-function
3rd (more technical): If you are looking to transfer ALL of the assets to a new address, you would want to use the Sweep option to transfer all your tokens AND token issuance ownerships (for tokens you have created) to the new address. Assuming you also have access and the keys to that new address.... this option is for transferring assets to yourself and NOT for just 'sending things to other people' ... if it does apply to your situation though, Info for that is here:
https://gist.github.com/davestaxcp/1e2cc086a13c9a2d045876852b57e5be#using-the-sweep-function -

Try using the Desktop version instead, its the most updated version
-
-
-
How urgent is it? The mobile version hasnt been updated in years while the desktop version is maintained and updated frequently

-
I wonder what it would cost or if it was even possible for the next version of freewallet mobile to be the next thing completed, instead of possibly next summer. I look forward to it either way
-
If so a crowd fund would be the thing imo
-
To try anyway
-
it is written on an old toolkit "sencha touch" from many years ago.... to update, it would need to be updated to "Sencha EXT JS" and be migrated to the new framework...... I have no plans to work on this old version of freewallet, as it is an old/outdated framework, and I think my time is better spent focusing on writing a single wallet interface that works in the browser... so it works on mobile and desktop the same.... rather than writing native-specific apps
-
tldr... I have no plans to update freewallet-mobile... someone else can if they want to
-
RPW is cool
-
Joe Looney built it
-
No dex support tho
-
rarepepewallet.com / rpw.wtf / wallet.xcp.ninja ... all work on mobile AFAIK
-
This is a good problem to have. It will inspire others to make XCP aware interfaces
-
I understand that and look forward to it. I should rephrase "freewallet mobile" to freewallet on my phone
-
I guess I was saying if we could pay enough, could it be next
-
-
There is. Chrome web wallet. In browser
-
Hasn't been updated in ages
-
-
-
Makes sense. Plus writing User Manuals for them would be easier too since they would share all the same basic functionality and 'labels' for things
-
BTW rarepepewallet.wtf now has built in IPFS minting similar (in theory) to the old Indiesquare wallet

what's interesting about this is I noticed yesterday helping a friend on their Mac is that - v0.9.25 needs the most updated version of MacOS (so you need to update your Mac's OS)
OR, if you don't want to do that, you can use v0.9.23
https://github.com/jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop/releasesReleases · jdogresorg/freewallet-desktopDesktop wallet for Win/Mac/Linux which supports Bitcoin and Counterparty - jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop

as for the "malware" thing - it's just Apple being proprietary about Freewallet Desktop not being on the App Store.
This is written about here:
https://gist.github.com/davestaxcp/1e2cc086a13c9a2d045876852b57e5be#where-can-i-access-freewallet
Just because an app is not from the Apple Store does not mean it's "malware" as stated by Apple here:

I may be wrong but in my pov, the error I see does not say it doesn't come from appstore but means that the app isn't signed.

not seeing it in issues. may be a good new one to post if that is what you are seeing, I only saw "not an app from mac app store" message

Old news. All apps not in app store will do this. Just have to "open" again
-
I don’t know about that. You don’t have to be in the App Store to be a certified application, though I think it’s $99/year. A big scary “malware” warning is the last thing you want to see when installing a crypto wallet. If I was a n00b with no understanding of Counterparty or the implicit trust I place in people like JDog, there is no way in hell I’d be installing Freewallet after such a warning.
-
It happens on almost all applications that I download outside the walled garden. As should be, we are "allowed" to install anything we want, and it is up to us to make sure we are on the correct site, and it hasn't been compromised.
-
Probably the reason why a fully functional web wallet, is the likely scenario for larger adoption.
-
And we all love putting passphrases into websites!
-
Hardware wallet support is possible with websites these days. RPW.WTF as an example. No reason to expose passphrases to the web anymore.
-
Wondering what's the difference between putting a passphrase in a website vs any other app?
(Not talking about hardware) -

Gotta trust the website operators…. Even with open source counterwallet… trivial to modify code to “report/log” passphrases n run the modified wallet….. at the end of the day, with web wallets, gotta trust the site operator…. Unless the code loads directly from a github repo…. So no chance to modify code before user sees wallet….. in perfect world, web wallet should only load code from a github repo n do so in a verifiable way… that’s my goal
-
-
In a website, the code is fully available and readable and outgoing requests are easily monitorable by any junior dev through a chrome extension or dev tool.
In compiled apps, it requires a senior security engineer to see if a passphrase spoofer has been added during compilation, even from a "100% opensource" code.
Exception if compiled app is reproductible with a stable hash. Which I couldn't using freewallet doc. I'd be very happy to validate those builds btw if I can be guided to reproduce exact same build.
In my dev pov, a website is more "opensource" at a security level, it just makes reproduction of the app harder because it's minified. -
Yeah.... anyone CAN dig through the website code and look at the incoming/outgoing requests.... but, IMO having wallet open source so that anyone can review the code is a much better approach than keeping something that is supposed to secure funds closed source..... if anyone can review the source code in the browser and look at XHR requests, why not just publish that same source code in github (like I do with freewallet)?.... Most definitely having code open source is not a 100% warranty that things are safe..... as you mentioned, someone could take the code, insert something bad, then do a build, etc... but NOT having the code as open source kinda raises my eyebrows a bit.... I like what your doing and dig the wallet and am really glad your here building some cool stuff.... and I hope eventually you come around to open sourcing your entire wallet so the code can be easily reviewed and tweaked, pull requests submitted, etc.
-
@sn_noop2 I appreciate your offer to help validate builds.... when I get around to porting freewallet-desktop to run in a browser, i'd def appreciate your help reviewing the code and loading process to make sure you agree it is 100% secure from loading code direct from a github repo to running in the wallet.
-
@sn_noop2 I also noticed that on xcp.ninja... you support signing in via signing a message.. that is great... I wanted to mention that you can also support making logging in a single-click action on your site.... sec... digging up some messages to forward to demonstrate how to do that 🙂
-
you click a link on a website... the link includes a message to sign, an optional icon URL, and a callback URL to pass the signed message to... when clicked, freewallet launches and asks you if you want to sign the message and send it to the remote server... if the user clicks yes, the message is signed with their current address, and then the address, message, and signed message are passed back to the callback server... the server then verifies the message signature is good, and sets some cookies to log you in, 🙂

Fire, I just assumed it wasn't possible as I couldn't find any doc but definitely will take a look and implement this 🚀

Initial plan for the wallet was to keep it private. We tried to make it public and somehow it's starting to be a thing.
Our code is in a monorepo and the backend for explorers cannot be opensource, for security reasons.
When we have a window, we will incrementally opensource ninja wallets.
Another honest reason is the servers/dev cost. We have some advanced features that required a lot and exclusivity on those algorithms is part of how we try to make money. We mainly work for community, but still need to eat.
I'm not rich, I quit my job for that and I'm paying people. -

That balance has been the same for a few days and I saw it this morning but it’s suddenly not showing up. I have no unconfirmed tx’s

That didn’t work.

all right check that your server settings are correct compared to this FAQ:

Ok, I’ll check now. One sec.
-
-
The server settings match correctly. When I try to do a send it says zero available to send.
-
-
-
The balances for my Pepe stuff and my dispensers are working fine. It seems to just be the BTC balance that’s not showing up but it’s in the wallet on the blockchain.
-
the last thing I can recommend is annoying but might also help....
Logout of your wallet then log back in. (you will need to input your keys again).... and MAKE SURE that if you have ANY imported addresses that you back those up before logging out.... check this tutorial for doing so if needed:

It’s like 17.00 but I was going to add a few more dollars so I can make a transaction.
-
-
-
this could work too
-
-
-
I’m a little hesitant to send more to the wallet because I don’t want that to disappear too. The bottom of the wallet says “Last updates 4 minutes ago”
-
try a restart of your computer
-
-
-
Sending just a little might not help and would create a new UTXO set
-
Not on a vpn. I’m restarting the computer now. One sec.
-
It could be that your $17 of BTC is comprised of several UTXOs that’s causing the issue.
-
he can see it on the blockchain.... but he wouldnt be able to consolidate them with Freewallet cause the UI isnt showing it
-
-
Yeah, would have to use electrum
-
It was showing this morning but now nothing.
-
While I’m here, I’ve been having trouble using multisend. I downgraded from 9.25 to .23 during the locking issue. Did 9.23 have problems with multisend?
-
alright well I wrote about importing your specific address private key into electrum so you can still access the BTC in there.... I would recommend doing that then sending the ENTIRE BTC balance you have to yourself (send the btc to your same address it is on)... this will consolidate your UTXO's and I wrote about it here:

It’s back now after the reboot. That’s strange . Thanks for the help.

yes 0.9.23 did have issues with multisend

Okay, I need to upgrade then

cool thats good to know. Could be an API issue your computer was messin up somehow

I got the pop up too, but I was able to issue it (I think)
-
I'll transfer it over to xcer
-
-
This is odd if you click on the Assets tab
-
It's pulled all names or descriptions that have null in it
-
FYI... I have a special page on xchain that you can use to see all the tokens which users attempted to register but which failed to complete (due to missing XCP at issuance time, or other issues with the issuance)... sometimes can come in handy for finding some decent asset names... anyway, figured I would bring it up since this article references some "invisible assets".... technically, they aren't invisible, they are just failed asset registrations... the site only shows fully registered assets in the assets list, so they do not appear on the site normally, but all the issuance data is visible.. and here is a list https://xchain.io/assets?type=4
-
For some reason, I'm only able to see the first 100 of 285 from this list

Was the 0.00042 your change sent to yourself after paying tx fee?
-
No it was sent out
-
How about you post the tx hash... so we can take a look at the actual tx
-
if you want to ask about a tx... always post details for ppl to dig into it..... otherwise, kinda tough to help
-
ADS donations are either 1000 sats or 25,000 sats.... so 0.00042000 sats wouldn't be an ADS (Automatic Donation)..... again, just guessing... pointing us at a tx will help
-
TX: 96979cc5a04e4f1d2ccb027bd95bfa31404b7ede08f2baa4198c64043dd41ee8
-
-
-
bc1qd0nateja8l9am8tqpzjn9uazhf6dlp9qer2tra looks like a donation address
-
well i hope it was a good cause 🤣
-
because it can be ... its in the hope a noob makes a bad choice and buys it
-
if you are on the FW dispenser list click on the BTC price and it will change it to price low to high, just make sure the give is 1 and not fractions
-
-
and they do
-
-
-
this has an output to the donation address.. so this appears to be an ADS transaction.... You can configure ADS and how much you want to donate (or disable donations entirely) in the wallet.
-
I just filled and order on the dex in FW, didn't send a donation
-
-
-
you must have sent a donation via ADS... that is the ONLY way that an output would get added to the TX... I suggest you go check your automatic donation settings, and disable if you dont want to donate in the future..
-
-
this is the default setting... enabled, donating 1000 sats per tx.... ADS pools up donations until the amount is over 25000 sats and then sends a single donation tx and restarts the counter back at 0 sats... pools donations till over 25,000 sats again, and does another donation tx... etc etc
-
as always, can disable ADS if you want 🙂
-
Nice I like that

Waste sats == incentivize bitcoin miners to stick around…. Your wasted sats secure the network sir

You can specify inputs to a tx… prolly best to look at the cp soo advanced params

yeah thats where I saw it may be possible .. I know its not designed to have a n other utxo and to spend the outputs from the first half of the multisend but if a n other utxo can be included then it can be cpfpd

It will simply let you adjust the fee on the pending transaction, rather than have to create a whole new transaction to do child pay for parent
-
It’s a bit more complex with MPMA since the input from the second transaction are the outputs from the first transaction…. But I believe you should be able to tack on custom_inputs to the second MPMA transaction to provide an input with additional Satoshi‘s for RBF
-
I will experiment and report back
-
Perhaps you’re speaking about the BTNS dispensers… and how BTNS dispensers and counterparty dispensers could be set up on the same address, and both triggered by a single BTC payment… BTNS is currently on hold, while I focus on counterparty releases, and dogeparty releases… I plan to focus back on BTNS in January 2024

I heard many times rbf that broke CP tx, taking additional sats where it shouldn’t, isn’t Cpfp only a bit more expensive but safer?

@Loyanmoe did you review this FAQ and try some of the solutions stated here?

For the record I have found out you are on the Mobile Freewallet app. Many features and user interface aspects are updated and more usable on the Desktop Version. I would recommend you use a computer and use the Desktop Version.
Feel free to review the differences for those two types of versions here:

So I made a multisend and if you specify custom inputs when creating the second tx they are simply ignored by the CP API. I expect it is because the custom input is also the p2sh_pretx_txid, as I was trying to use the change from the first tx
I will wait for my low fee p2sh pretx to confirm, then i will create a brand new utxo and I will then try again to get it included in the second tx as a custom input, that results in change, and if I do I can n will cpfp it
If it works it would mean some unconsolidsted utxos would be desirable 😂 - 30 October 2023 (30 messages)

gonna start pulling BTC balances from addrindexrs in the next freewallet release prolly... then failover to mempool.space and blockcypher APIs.... seems most of the BTC balance issues are related to 3rd party API requests failing.... we have BTC balance available in addrindexrs, just need to start using it and create an API on xchain to pull BTC balance from addrindexrs API

it is recommended you use the Desktop version on a computer as the mobile version is extremely outdated and has no immediate plans to be updated
-
it is written on an old toolkit "sencha touch" from many years ago.... to update, it would need to be updated to "Sencha EXT JS" and be migrated to the new framework...... I have no plans to work on this old version of freewallet, as it is an old/outdated framework, and I think my time is better spent focusing on writing a single wallet interface that works in the browser... so it works on mobile and desktop the same.... rather than writing native-specific apps

Why is the high fee higher on mobile than desktop?
-
Mine always says 0.0001. I manually move it to 0.00004 (or lower if I'm feeling daring)
-
Why, when opening the change address window, are none of the balances shown correct? Unless they are zero or you open the addy

Different APIs for fees… Mobile uses an older service

I think I've probably wasted a lot of btc on mobile

Kane Mayfield had a dope idea for showing music albums in Freewallet User Interface (and thus xchain).... though he had the idea using HTML which is not necessarily the best way to show a music player on xchain from what I have been told....
but I thought maybe this process might be a better way to go about it?....
Anyway... open to ideas on how you guys might think this could work (or if there is already a process for doing so)
