did the new version add the option to disable "use unconfirmed utxos?", if so where is it?
- just tested a easyasset description on a subasset again with the new vers with same effective fee rate issue -
only thing in this new version is a fix for an issue with counting txs in the ADS... no fee adjustments... same exact fee estimation as last release...
-
and "effective fee rate" is related to your previous txs
-
"fee rate" is what wallet shows... no way to calculate "effective fee rate" without knowing all the previous pending txs, their fees, etc
-
when I do a tx in freewallet and it says 21 sats/vb... that is waht it is showing in the tx.
-
ADS?
-
ADS stands for the optional Automatic Donation System (ADS) that is included in freewallet to help fund development and server operating expenses.
-
-
FYI.. if you use freewallet, you had to have seen and agreed to this screen
-
Heh he thinks people read stuff!
-
I dont mind if they don't 🙂
-
mentioned before...
a common artist or user after many tx's on a single address (especially when using older versions of FW) will have to consolidate their UTXO's and many of us use Electrum to do so....... but even if they use Electrum and consolidate all the tx's that can be seen by the block explorers and seen by electrum and verifying they are working with 1 input on electrum as well as block explorers.,,
using freewallet to do asset description changes seems to be the only case a user will run into this effective fee rate issue. I've seen Sasha, Degenna, Porkchop just to name a few that fun into this frequently (and VERY recently with new version)....
and mentioned before you said using Electrum will not be good enough and might have to use a node to get all those super low (unseen on block explorers and electrum) unconfirmed tx's to consolidate....
since most users wont be running a node anytime soon... could getting the feature you mentioned that will enable the user to disable "use unconfirmed utxo's"' for this specific purpose when using the longform easy asset descriptions?
it is very very common artists broadcast this specific tx and have it be too low of a fee rate because of how many possible failed attempts have happened before on their address from previous versions.... Maybe a checkbox on Asset Description popup? or a setting in the settings somewhere? -
the seeing these low unconfirmed tx's in a node vs electrum is noted here...
at the moment even when a user see's 1 input - they have to raise the fee rate for the next broadcast attempt by a manner of percentage after the first failed attempt (and doing the math from that) -
yeah... I can add that "confirmed utxos" option in freewallet... it'll still be defaulted to on, but not tough to add... will work on it now
-
maybe just wrap it into this release 😛
-
-
FYI... I just updated the binaries in the release with this "UTXO Usage" option 🙂
-
just consolidated my UTXO's with Electrum and tried again with the "Only Confirmed" option and still had the same effective fee rate issue :(
will test more... for anyone who is interested - in my experience consolidating UTXO's with Electrum will also auto CPFP the previous unconfirmed tx... so anybody in my position can do that to clean up the tx with too small an effective fee rate -
-
Werkin it out in typical counterparty fashion. Well done frens. Keep it up. Yer doin the good lord Satoshi’s werk.
-
-
-
Not a critical update…. Just fixing a minor issue in ADS and added the ability to choose if you want to use confirmed or unconfirmed UTXOs👍🏻
-
installed, thanks. i'm unable to see the balances on my Trezor HW wallet although I can see the transaction history - any workarounds or fixes?
-
this is a segwit address
-
just started working, thanks!
-
however, when I try to initiate a send from my hardware wallet, i can get to the browser page that prompts me to "connect to trezor", but the button does not do anything. I have popups enabled from https:// f r e e w a l l e t . i o and I've tried it on both Safari and Firefox. I've cleared my cache, restarted the browser, and retested.
-
OK - I just inspected the page to see what the issue was. The request it fires off errors: Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at api. blockcypher .com /v1/btc/main/txs/[omitted hash stuff]. Above report shows that Trezor hardware wallet support is broken due to a missing CORS header. Any XCP moved in cannot be moved back out until this is fixed.

Question(that i think i know the answer to)
If i set up two dispensers using the same address, but each dispenser requires a diff. amount of BTC in order to dispense
is this ok. ? -
or am i somehow risking loss
-
for example.
dispenser A. requires .5 BTC
dispenser B requires .008 BTC -
The higher amount would also trigger the lower one to dispense as well just an FYI
-
I set this up awhile back to play with and all one needs to do is pay the fee once and it will dispense all 14 assets because they are all the same price
-
running to check btc balance
-
-
Ah yes. That’s the scenario I forgot.
Thanks -
yo Gmoney... i been meaning to reach out to you for trades for ages... lol. guess who picked up 3 x of your BTCTRUCKERS recently....kek...meeee... anyway.... i am missing your other grail. and could do with some swaps/trades as i am pretty fucking broke rn. let me know if you up for swapping for your we the pepe card?? fakes is not really known for political satire or conspiracy cards... but these two hit the nail on the head for me!!

-
thats how i set up my dispensers,a bunch in one address, you buy the expensive one you get em all,no one has figured that out yet it seems
-
i really should lurk in here moar.

Hello everybody :)
and hi davesta! thanks again for your help in the counterparty chat :)
So i am pretty new to the btc stuff and counterparty and so on.
I hope you can forgive me for a possible very stupid question. -
I won a counterparty asset ( spell of genesis card ) and was asked for my wallet address.
They listed the addresses they support (P2PKH starting with 1, P2SH starting with 3 and bech32 starts with bc1) -
I gave them my address starting with a 3 so P2SH.
Where i am now: I have a xverse wallet with an address starting with a 3. Xverse does not support counterparty.
I looked at the counterparty website and it seems no wallet listed there does support P2SH wallets/addresses? -
davesta pointed me to the freewallet FAQ on github and i found a part which says:
"I sent/dispensed an XCP asset to a Wrapped Segwit Address (address beginning with "3"). What can I do?"
So this does not fit 100% on my because i received it. -
Does anyone know:
A wallet supporting counterwallet with my 3... address?
A way i can maybe send the card to a better address or wallet or whatever?
Or in the end should i contact the SENDER to apply the workaround written in the FAQ?
Thank you so much everybody! Any help appreciated -
I hope you understand what i mean 🙈
-
what is written in the FAQ still applies even though you received it in this situation:
"At the moment on a protocol level, Wrapped Segwit Addresses (or addresses beginning with "3") are supported by Counterparty but Freewallet does not support signing those transactions at this time.
Another developer by the name of JP Janssen (JPJA) had devloped an OP_Return builder for Wrapped Segwit addresses, but at the moment this is experimental and it is recommended to get into contact with JPJA to better help experiment with the process.
If you find yourself in a situation that an XCP asset has been sent to a Wrapped Segwit Address and you are looking to access this token, it would be best at this time to wait until a further release of Freewallet that supports Wrapped Segwit Addresses so they can be used for all Counterparty functions." -
the tool mentioned is here: https://jpja.github.io/Electrum-Counterparty/

Man davesta again with the detailed answers
-
Thanks so much
-
question: Do i have to use this JPJA Builder or the issuer aka the person who sent it to me
-
you would use it because you own the address the token is on
-

Ok thanks!
I will think about waiting, or going the "lets see what happens" way :D -
But yes i will invest some time to get some knowledge

how long is the mint proses now days..?
-
i have mintted mine last two day

I'm trying to buy off the dex using BTC. I chose the option to leave the wallet open. My first transaction went through, and it's now pending. However, another block has been found and no 2nd transaction has occurred.
-
In the past, I've been able to successfully buy things using BTCPay, but I was always prompted to clicked to sign for the 2nd tx
-
This time, I thought it would do it automatically, but I do not see it happening. I cannot find a way to make it happen either within the wallet
-
There are no pending transactions from my wallet or going to the seller's wallet.

but the "auto-btc" pay popup is something that may need an "on and off" setting in the settings UI in the future to make sure it is enabled.,..... if it was enabled i wonder if its a wallet update issue.... if its not enabled i wonder if and how that might happen to change

-
my dispensers disappeared from the list a day or two ago, but they still show up elsewhere like xchain
-
0.9.28 - I haven't tried it for a few years. In the past, I do not remember having the drop down box to choose between leaving the wallet open or doing it manually.
-
I guess I'll try again in 15 blocks or so and choose to do it manually. I'll report back if I get it to work.
-
i remember this too
-
try a restart of the wallet, or a restart of your computer - if it shows on xchain its still there... just the wallet not showing the data
-
figures, now it shows up lol, I had restarted it a few times before this time too
-
there is also a limit to how many times you can ping the api
which means if you refresh alot it will not show for a minute or two -
-
ahh will keep that in mind, thanks
-
-
-
requests per day or hour? I'll just have to check less regardless
-
-
-
ahh, I'm not that impatient 😅
-
-
you can always just check on xchain - its pulling from the same data :)
-
then again it's possible I've done it a few times checking several addresses
-
Tried again with the different method - I'm not getting any pop ups or any way that I can find to complete this trade
-
go ahead and comment on this issue with your process and version @c0rnh0li0 ..... maybe downgrading versions might help...
-
-
When initiating the order, there is a drop down menu with 2 options - autopay or manual
-
I expected the autopay to just do it as long as I kept my computer on and wallet open, but that did not happen
-
I expected a pop up to prompt me to sign the transaction once my tx confirmed, but that did not happen
-
try it out a bit on testnet... if your able to produce a step by step confirmation that its not working, and log it into an issue, i'll take a look at it when I have some time... AFAIK BTCpay and Auto-BTCpay should be working.... something new I guess COULD have broken the functionality, but none of the updates jump out at me as something that would effect Auto-BTCpay.... being able to test, find a reproducible test case to document the issue with screenshots and such... would go a long way towards helping track down any issue
-
incredibly busy now with about 5 different projects... so not much spare time to make wallet updates unless necessary... github issue with testnet test case will help prove there is issue and elevate it up my priority list

so far

strange, ok.
i'd imagine if this were more widespread others would comment. i'm going to keep watching my wallets to see what happens.
guessing that the ones you created are still not present? -

@jdogresorg (not urgent)
but wondering if there are any known issues creating dispensers for xcp assets at the moment -
I’m not aware of any issues at the moment…. All that FreeWallet does is make an API request to api.counterparty.io to generate the transaction and then signs and broadcast it in the wallet….. so if you’re having issues with dispensers, you should be talking to the counterparty developers about your issue.
FreeWallet uses counterparty API to generate all of its transactions , if some transactions it is generating, are no longer being recognized by counterparty as dispensers, then that is absolutely something you should bring up with the developers.. however, I’m not aware of any issues currently -
Yes.
Aware - weird / interesting
Will keep looking -
-
can you post the tx links for this issue?
-
what is the tx link for the dispenser? it could have gone back to the origin address and not the source address similar to what happened here earlier
-
i resolved the issue by updgrading to the latest version of freewallet (unclear if that did anything or it was a coincidence - i was running the previous version prior to updating)
Here is the txn where i created the dispenser and nothing happened

-
i close the dispenser from source address
-
-
-
i didn't see if ever leave the source address
balance in the source wallet never changed -
it left, check the debits tab on ur address... went from your source address into the dispenser... maybe balance was not updated on xchain, but if that is the case (would need screenshot with timestamp to prove), would just be display issue on xchain explorer.... not issue with CP... CP has sanity checks in place to prevent that type of thing 🙂
-
From what i can see - the asset (pepegun) left once (today - once i installed a new version of freewallet and created the dispenser)
Yesterday (txn i linked above) i'm pretty sure the asset never level, I watched and watched and refreshed and refreshed for about an hour. I saw the txn confirm in mempool.space but saw nothing in freewallet or xchain -
if it left the wallet yesterday, how did it come back
-
also - i saw nothing when checking xcp.dev
-
-
this one

"Import addresses"?
-
this is how you access the private key

Hi, may I ask a question about buying order (under BTC network in free wallet latest Windows version)? If), if I have checked the check box of Auto-BTCPay, is that mean since there have met sale order then may order will be completed automatically?
-
Yes… if you’re buying something with BTC… check that auto BTC payback, and then leave your wallet open…. The wallet needs to be left open in order to monitor for order matches once in order matches detected then the BTC pay transaction is sent within 20 blocks automatically to confirm the order before it expires.

I am trying to ask a question about running freewallet locally
-
According to the readme, building the app will via build sh will package to an executable file. Is there a way to run locally without packaging?
-
You should be able to run it locally by cloning the GitHub repo y and then running npm install, and then loading the index.html page and a browser…..
The script is only to be used if you’re trying to build binaries of the Wallet -
Ah! Amazing. Thank you!

It worked thank you!

Hello, I'm trying to import a wallet key but freewallet is saying I have to unlock my wallet. I created the password and have successfully entered several times all resulting in a response saying it's unlocked. Alas, it will not. I try to import and it errors with "I have to unlock". Anything I am missing?

-
Did you try recovering your wallet using the seed on another device?
-
this was an issue commonly mentioned with an older version of freewallet.... upgrade to the latest version which is 0.9.29
-
i havent tested this, but Freewallet should still pop-up the notification of the BTCpay function while the wallet is still locked..... As for the computer being on screensaver and having it "stop the screensaver" so you see it ........ is a big "I Dont Know" from me... I would have to test it
-
no
-
yes, I uninstalled the old one. I'm running 0.9.29. same results. I had problems with an older version where it would auto lock after 15 minutes but I could unlock it as needed.
-
ok. the way the issue was resolved before was to entirely logout of using the upper right hand corner "logout" button..... just make sure you have your 12 word phrase backed up because you will need to enter it again (this will reset your wallet entirely)
-
-
by the way the only way to import a "seed phrase" which is a 12 word key.... is to reset the wallet anyway.... the way to import specific "private keys" is a different function and process
-
Luckily I had it down from long ago. It worked btw. Thanks!
-
-
It will need enough BTC to cover the fees as well as 0.5 xcp. Check pinned user manual for more specific info on how

good evening, this apply also for dogewallet? Tks 🙌

Counterparty did not hold a crowdsale or ICO, but did issue XCP, about six months after Omni in January 2014, to the bitcoin address 1CounterpartyXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXUWLpVr.
2130 bitcoins were received and then subsequently burned and destroyed using a technique called proof-of-burn to avoid pre-mining. The terms of the swap were that one bitcoin burnt would garner between 1000 and 1500 XCP, as stated by Counterparty on bitcointalk -

That functionality hasn’t changed in the wallet in a long time… I believe the only place you were ever able to manually edit. The asset directly was in sends and issuances.
-
gotchya i must have remembered the UI wrong.... is there any downside to giving users the freedom to do all functions included in FW with numeric assets despite not showing them on xchain?
-
If the community wants numerics added back to XChain abd FreeWallet, I’ve made it very clear how that can happen.
The fact that we are two months without numerics , and next to no donations at all to add them…. Indicates to me it’s not really a priority for the community.
Had I seen even a little bit of effort from the stamps or counterparty community to do fundraising and compensate me for all the headaches of the last year, I would have happily added numerics back….. even with a few donations n not the full 1btc amount….
But I’ve given the community plenty of time to decide if numerics are priority or not and demonstrate their desired with more than words…. And the from my perspective, the community is speaking, and saying that numerics are not a priority in FreeWallet n xchain… so I’m listening n not making numerics my problem anymore.
If numerics are really a priority for the community, I imagine they can fund building of wallets which support numerics. -
Yeah… downside would be me wasting my time going in and making code updates to FreeWallet specific to numerics…. Something I will not be doing.
I’ve already made it clear I can turn numerics back on in FreeWallet at any time….. but I won’t do so without being compensated…. so the idea of writing code to allow the use of numerics in my wallet when I’m not being paid for it doesn’t appeal to me.
Not trying to be a jerk … but I’ve made it clear how numerics can get added back…. And won’t be spending anymore energy building numeric support into FreeWallet. -
FreeWallet does allow signing of raw transactions…. So you could use some external tool to build out the dispenser and then sign the transaction in FreeWallet.
Making postman API calls to the counterparty API to generate the dispenser transaction is probably the simplest method -
they already funded stamped.ninja wallet .... but not all of the community would like to use their wallet (not open-source)
im not asking for you to reinclude numerics into xchain, only simply to have freewallet be able to create tx's to manually work with Numeric Assets (MPMA and sends work with them, why not other features?)....
not all numerics are stamps and not all users should be punished just because they want to use FW to manually do things with numerics -
good thinking
-
this is a really difficult ask for any new user, let alone people who somewhat know what they are doing
-
I understand what you’re asking…. It requires me to go into FreeWallet and make code updates specific to numerics…. Requiring me to put in more work to support a future, which I feel is abusive….. and numerics are used primarily by stamps which I also believe is a very abusive project towards Bitcoin.
So again , not interested in making updates to FreeWallet without being compensated…. My focus is elsewhere, building other platforms, and wallets and explorers. -
I very much agree… this is not ideal, and not something a normal user could do…
I built a wallet that the full use of every token type in counterparty…. My goal has always been to support every thing that counterpart supports.
Unfortunately, a couple projects came in and abused the shit out of the system and the “free” tools…
My decision was either take the whole wallet down or remove the abusive behavior… which is what I did by removing numerics. -
alright you do you, but to help support users with Numerics now my only advice is "use the stamp ninja wallet i guess"
-
It is unfortunate that new users have to suffer…. But I didn’t create the situation that we are in with only one open source wallet….
And yeah, I’m fine with you telling anybody that wants to use numeric dispensers to use the stamp wallet…
I think I’ve made it pretty clear. I don’t want abusive stamps in Freewallet without being compensated….. so fine with u pushing numeric users (stamps) towards closed source unknown untrusted wallets….. it’s a shitty situation, but I can only be responsible for my products n tools
Perhaps put pressure on the other members of the community who are building wallets that are untrusted and closed source to do things the right way🤷🏻♂️
I understand your position, respect it, but my viewpoint has not changed…
It’s shitty the community has to suffer in the meantime , but from my perspective, the only community truly suffering from numerics is the stamps community🤷🏻♂️ -
remember that most of the user community never picked a side and simply made art with both Named and Numeric assets - so it is absolutely NOT just the stamp community that is suffering - its the community that was here before and don't necessarily trust their wallet
-
-
-
Yes, unfortunately there are a couple thousand numeric assets that have been caught in the crossfire
But let’s not pretend that numerics have a ton of usage on the platform beyond stamps -
No bad blood at al sir😃👍🏻
Simply clarifying my position on stamps and numerics has not changed….
Greatly appreciate all the help and support that you do with FreeWallet and in the counterpart community -
-
-
As far as I know the new Dev focus is only on the protocol and the official position is that the only wallet is the command line wallet.
I’ve seen no conversations about building wallets other than telling the community that they should do it .
Has been floated by a few community members that the best solution here is me to shut down freewallet and xchain entirely and leave community in a lurch.
It’s becoming more clear to me than this new breed of developers, coming to counterparty care less about what the community wants and care more about pushing their own agendas forward ….
I still have Hope for counterparty …. But there’s a reason I’m distancing myself from it…. I believe the ethos has changed significantly over the past year… and the community has continued to become more and more fractured….. I don’t see that changing.
I think we’ll get some technical improvements and counterparty that will be good … but from my perspective, this is not the same community I joined, and many of the members now don’t hold the same core values that I do… so it’s best for me to just move on to building something I do believe in.
I want the best for counterparty and will continue to support it to the best of my ability 👍🏻 -
-
I may be taking a step back from counterparty development…. But I’m still here for the counterpart users, my commitment to them has not changed, so the thought of closing down the explorer and wallet is laughable….
Don’t worry , I’m still here… still got much love for CP -
stamps degens deserved to get rekt I hear Mike is making another shitcoin... nothing new just a new grift

Is there a way to view a public key for an address in freewallet

Question for you @jdogresorg. Counterparty has its own set of seedwords from the BIP-39 list. Does Freewallet accept both lists? I was just told that a user was testing a Trezor and tried to input the 12 words into FW and got an error.
-
FreeWallet supports counterwallet and BIP39 passphrases…. Tho the derivation path for CP is different than most wallets… so the 12-word is generally not portable to other wallets to generate the same addresses.
-
Okay. Thanks for the quick reply. I've come up with a workaround where you import your seedphrase into electrum and then get the private key from there which you can import into FW no problem.
-
Now we're discussing the fact that hardware wallets (Trezor at least) don't show the recipient address on the screen, but the change address.
And also the fact that multisends are not possible from a hardware wallet.
If any of this is incorrect please let me know. - 17 March 2024 (1 messages)
-
Multisends from trezor don’t currently work… as for confirmation screens… depends on ur firmware version on ur trezor

you mind if I show these tx's to the xcp protocol devs? I'm not sure why Freewallet would all of a sudden not let you open a dispenser TX....
thoughts on these tx's @jdogresorg? im seeing successful dispensers being opened recently and can't get much info from the tx id's on block explorers for these tx's -
-
the tx exists in the CP`transactions` table.... so the keyword is detected and data is decoded... can't speak to why CP isn't actually processing the tx... tho gut says prolly related to all this extra space (highlighted in blue)...
-
FYI... this is not a freewallet specific issue (freewallet just talks to CP API to generate transactions).... this is a counterparty specific issue... so the counterparty devs should be the ones to ask about what is happening, etc.
-
good to know I will write up an issue for them in counterparty-core
-
-
nice work tracking down a case of a disappearing dispenser tx.... I know i've heard ppl say that dispener txs have disappeared before, will be good to get to the actual bottom of WTF is going on, now that we have an actual tx to dig into 🙂
-
-
are the source address and origin address the same?
aka was this a dispenser creation meant for the address you sent the tx through from, or a separate address (thus a separation for origin and source) -
it’s my piece minted in xcp i’m the owner
-
are not the same address
-
to be clear: i opened a disp for cocobull tnx go in the last block this 👆🏻. so i re try to open another dispenser but didn’t appear on xchain

got a weird issue with a dispenser tx not showing up in counterparty block explorers... filed it as an issue - will post more info to the issue when I get more info from the user on how to recreate it more specifically:
https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core/issues/1534Dispenser Opening TX Not Showing on Block Explorers · Issue #1534 · CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-coreWe have a user in the Freewallet chat wondering why two different 'open dispenser' tx's do not show up on Counterparty Block Explorers the first tx was (user used FW v0.9.25): 2bc048ed3...
-
i think maybe a work around would be to set up the dispenser the old fashioned way.....
which basically means you will have to manually send the asset to the address you would like to deploy the dispenser on and then create the dispenser there.... so the origin and source address are the same address...
I think it might be worthwhile to try doing it that way -
I’m not in a hurry, if there wasn’t any way then I’ll try the way you told me
-
i think its possible that simply making sure your Source and Origin for the dispenser is the same address....
it could work in that manner....
I am just taking an educated guess that we would have alot more people in here looking for help if that 'old fashioned' way of doing it stopped working too -
anyway, I brought it up to the Devs and it may be something that is fixed protocol level with the 10.0.0 improvement, but thanks for the details, it will help other users in the future.
and let me know if that process for opening it that I stated above ^ works or doesnt work -
-
thats what I would try if I was having the issue you are dealing with
...I did get a reply back in the issue post from ouziel-slama, but asking now for more clarification -
-
-
-
nice! thats good to know that it works with source/origin the same address
-
- 20 March 2024 (1 messages)
-
so word from ouziel is that when you create a dispenser tx and use a different source than the origin in the FW input, you have to use a fresh newly created address in the UI first

Had a failed multi-send in Freewallet (0.9.29). Wasn't paying too close attention, but I think it did the first txn and failed before the second. On chain it looks like this: https://mempool.space/tx/44299d89ec5d4cdb83757af4c7ab3f6681c3697e58707bb67e05b0b7c49dd52b
It looks like I sent 0.00020000 BTC (about $12) to 3CD1VfcWE23UBRNswbqq8hvWBMe8fx2RkV
I've never seen this before. Who controls this 3 address? If I do, can I retrieve the Bitcoin?Bitcoin Transaction: 44299d89ec5d4cdb83757af4c7ab3f6681c3697e58707bb67e05b0b7c49dd52bExplore the full Bitcoin ecosystem with The Mempool Open Source Project®. -
One other wrinkle to this is that it was a numeric asset multi-send, so I'm not sure if that contributed to the failure.
-
FreeWallet uses the CP API to generate transactions... so best to ask your question of CP devs
-
This is a perfectly normal multi-send.... the mutli-send data is written into outputs in the first tx... and then the second tx has the data from the first tx assembled into a parsable cp tx (p2sh encoding).... yes you control all the addresses/outputs generated... and those outputs are spent in the second tx to make up the miners fee to get the tx mined :)
-
Only $12 not gonna worry about it. It was more a curiosity as to what was happening. Thanks for the explanation.
-
and the amount in these outputs us used to pay the tx fee on the second tx.... so, the output amount on these addresses varies.... I believe its ilke 546 sats per output and then the last outputs us made up of however many more sats are needed to make up the tx fee on the second tx
-
@jdogresorg you said recently that when the second tx fails like that the bitcoin gets "stuck" in an address which the sender still technically controls, but there is currently no way to retrieve it, correct? Is that something that a Counterparty dev would have to figure out a solution to? How would I even go about writing up an issue for that? I'm not a programmer and don't know how to explain what is happening under the hood.
Just curious as I've lost a few bucks that way. -
you are correct... the data is encoded into outputs in the first tx which are then signed in the second tx.... so, you control the addresses and can sign them... so not an CP dev issue... more an issue of no easy tools to find those failed first tx outputs and assemble them into a tx to gather the btc
-
i imagine as btc price continues to rise... getting at this dust will become more of a priority for ppl 😉

it is a custom library and wordlist that predate BIP39.... not really used outside of counterparty/counterwallet..... freewallet supports both counterwallet passphrases and BIP39
-
the wordlist has many words with duplications of the first 4 letters .. Grant Grand Grandma, Bottle Bottom .. best to write words down in full as if you use the wrong word there is no checksum like there is in bip39 so you will not get an error you will just get a different empty wallet
-
good to know! I would have just assumed first 4 letters.
-
sheit.... my bad... I knew there was no repeat 4 characters in BIP39... WRONGLY assumed that was the case with the counterwallet wordlist as well... my mistake.
-
I always write the full words down... but the only thing I ever actually backed up to hardware was my trezor seed... which was just the first 4 characters.... thanks for correcting me @B0BSmith .... TIL something new 🙂

i've never swept and address before on freewallet - I assume it works okay, no issues to be aware of?

you will need XCP on the address you are sweeping from, but no issues reported with sweep to be aware of at the moment

How many - just 1?

thanks
-
We switched to a dynamic XCP fee model on sweeps at around Christmas time….. the fee right now is determined based off the size of the sweep specifically how many issuance and balances are transferred…. typically the prices much lower than the hardcoded half an XCP that we’ve been using for the past few years

@B0bSmith - can you explain what your tool is asking for in the second box "Counterparty API Generated Unsigned MPMA Step 2 TX HEX"
-
sure an MPMA send is done using two transactions, so my tool is asking for the unsigned hex that is the second of the two transactions
-
-
@B0bSmith - Sorry for the newb questions. Can I find the unsigned hex in the transaction data? Here is one of my failed MPMA transactions: https://blockstream.info/tx/bd58ff9e65feb25f57033b4ef5ddaf58e5189c033996edb591cac234fec55af7Blockstream Block Explorer

And does your tool operate in the local browser cache? Do I need to be concerned that I am pasting a private key into the site? Should I go offline and clear cache aftwards? I've got 5 failed tx's that I would like to recapture.
Sorry for spamming the room -
The tool can be used offline no problem and the tool doesn't store any data.
With regard to your failed mpma transactions my tool will sign the required 2nd tx to complete the mpma sends but you will need to use the Counterparty api to generate the 2nd tx hex, and you do this by referencing the txid that is the 1st part - 28 March 2024 (3 messages)

You lost me at API. Thank you for taking the time to explain it though. Perhaps I'll try and understand it further at a later date.

go to 'change address' on the upper right of FW and click your segwit address (should be segwit address #1) and the addy will start with "bc1"
FW gives you 10 legacy addresses and 10 segwit addresses to start with that are deterministically from your seed words -
yes that is correct

You need to specify 1.00000000 to send 1 xcp not just 1… divisible quantities need to be specified as divisible amounts.
