I can confirm multisends do not work when using a Trezor with Freewallet. I tried to do one and it causes a Trezor to consume an entire utxo on fees and broadcast a transaction that results in the multisend not happening. So may be worth mentioning in your faq not to do multisends with trezor

Is it already apart of a collection?
  • @davesta #2899 01:51 AM, 03 Nov 2023
Cause Xchain (for a green banner collection) uses the Json the curator of the project uses, not what's in the description
  • @pork_chop77 #2900 03:08 AM, 03 Nov 2023
Thanks I know. It’s not an easy asset json discription it’s the links for the images.
I know the gif is frozen wen part of the collecton but you can change the discription.

This particular one is not part of a collection. Wen writing the json you put the links to the images in it.
The images are stored on arweave but the links are not changing on xchain.
They still say ipfs but the json link on CP has changed.

I updated the trezor mpma issue with my experience ... its was bad .. do not try multisend on trezor ... an entire unrelated utxo is fully consumed and the multisend fails
  • @jdogresorg #2913 01:13 PM, 03 Nov 2023

At the time I originally sent the BTC I had one xcp dispenser open, I was sending BTC to an exchange from the wallet which had a dispenser open so it shouldn’t trigger any sales, there were no pending buys from it also. That transaction also used a max fee and was split into it multiple utxo for some reason and sent back to me. So I closed the dispenser. Can you see if the balance of 670 xcp is lost and pending to be sent out? Is there a way to cancel the transaction?

I have brought this up to Jdog as one of the most important updates to be done on Freewallet.

This update would use sat/vb and show the correct denotations of how much BTC you will need to use with every different type of function Freewallet offers.

Jdog said he is going to work with Shaban and expects it to be in a new Freewallet update in 2024.

People often want to set the fee rate in sat/vB to know how quickly their transaction would confirm and how expensive it is relative to other transactions (regardless of # UTXOs used). The fee rate...

Actually I may not have logged in, I imported an address which doesn't need to be logged in to do, I thought I had to be logged in.

So im unsure if I logged in today.

By looks of it I haven't used my wallet since I last updated it, so is only a new issue to me since updating.

I think I will wait a while and hopefully there is a fix, as it knows I'm inputting correct passed word by not giving error message, just freezes and all I can do is cancel, so impossible to unlock for now

I don't think it would, as jdog won't try to fix an issue that can be fixed with complete log out.

Wallet "lock" feature has evolved a few time and as a dev, it is very complicated to understand your specific case.

The best you can do is maybe to downgrade to a version it worked. I don't know how it handles downgrade tho.

Anyway I guess it is indeed exhausting to rename all your addies but now you can bulk add up to 100 addys at once, should be acceptable to get back your funds.
  • @DOGESTYLEEE #3073 12:23 PM, 06 Nov 2023
Just tried downgrading versions, tried all downgrades with no success
  • @jdogresorg ↶ Reply to #3073 #3074 03:04 PM, 06 Nov 2023
Stop downgrading and upgrading… install the latest version of the Wallet… then log out of the Wallet entirely and close the app…. That will reset everything as if you were installing the app for the first time…. Then you should simply be able to enter your 12 word passphrase and use the Wallet without any problems.
  • @jdogresorg #3078 03:07 PM, 06 Nov 2023
    TLDR…. Logout as suggested n close app n then re-login with 12-word passphrase👍🏻
  • @jdogresorg #3079 03:09 PM, 06 Nov 2023
Also make sure you always have private keys backed up in multiple places…. Same issue as if your computer got stolen… without access to ur private keys u lose access to the funds in the address…

  • @jdogresorg #3082 04:10 PM, 06 Nov 2023
I am not saying "I can't fix the frw issue"... dunno where you got that... users are able to login to their wallets fine.... if your unable to login to your wallet, then that means your local wallet instance is probably corrupted and you should do as suggested multiple times... and logout and log back in

at least now you can add up to 100 addresses back to your wallet in 1 action.... same with private keys... can import a bunch at once instead of one at a time.... should make "restoring" access to your wallet accounts much faster.... but yeah, gotta have the private keys / 12-word to put in 😛

eh... AFAIK the issue in freewallet was only for ppl who never had a wallet password set..... the auto-lock feature forced locking of the wallet with no password... so ppl were unable to "unlock" since wallet was locked with no password set....... so the issue should have only effected ppl with NO password set

  • @DOGESTYLEEE #3130 04:26 PM, 06 Nov 2023
    that was my initial thoughts
  • @jdogresorg #3135 04:36 PM, 06 Nov 2023
yeah... all of those are normal... errors on failed network requests... not seeing anything that jumps out as having issues decoding the wallet using the private keys, etc..... the wallet password is encryted (using the wallet password) and then written to disk.... so to decode the wallet password, you enter a password, I try to decode the stored password using the password you provided, and if it matches, then I know you entered the right password and I can then use that password to unlock your ACTUAL wallet file......
  • @jdogresorg #3136 04:37 PM, 06 Nov 2023
so... your wallet password being accepted, but NOT unlocking and NOT allowing you access to the private keys leads me to believe that your wallet file has been corrupted since it is not being decoded/unlocked with the correct password (your getting no error, so gotta be right password)
  • @DOGESTYLEEE #3137 04:37 PM, 06 Nov 2023
so i dm you my password?
  • @jdogresorg #3138 04:37 PM, 06 Nov 2023
    no
  • @jdogresorg #3139 04:37 PM, 06 Nov 2023
password is only a local thing on your computer....
  • @jdogresorg #3140 04:37 PM, 06 Nov 2023
all you need is 12-word passphrase and private keys
  • @jdogresorg #3141 04:37 PM, 06 Nov 2023
which you never share with anyone
  • @jdogresorg #3142 04:38 PM, 06 Nov 2023
the password you put is just used to encrypt your wallet locally...
  • @jdogresorg #3143 04:38 PM, 06 Nov 2023
only solution it seems is the one provided.... logout and re-import 12-word passphrase and private keys, etc.... sucks, but seems that is the only path forward, since seems your wallet is corrupt
  • @DOGESTYLEEE #3144 04:38 PM, 06 Nov 2023
yh, i know 12 word most important, just hope i find
  • @DOGESTYLEEE #3145 04:39 PM, 06 Nov 2023
nothing has left any addresses so far so im hopeful not corrupted, but was my initial worry
  • @jdogresorg #3146 04:39 PM, 06 Nov 2023
you might want to consider making periodic backups of your computer as well.... I know some users have backups of all their data directories, so if something gets corrupted, he can easily just swap in a backup..... it would have helped in thise case prolly
  • @DOGESTYLEEE #3147 04:40 PM, 06 Nov 2023
yh, im pritty dumb with tech lol
  • @jdogresorg #3148 04:40 PM, 06 Nov 2023
I personally dont do that.... I just keep my 12-word passphrase and private keys safe... but, backing up freewallet appData would backup the wallet files 🙂
  • @DOGESTYLEEE #3149 04:41 PM, 06 Nov 2023
probs good idea to wipe my laptop, incase of corruption
  • @jdogresorg #3150 04:41 PM, 06 Nov 2023
curious... what are all your private keys from? just emblem vaults or something?.... just curious how you could/would have lots of private keys in your freewallet but not backed up elsewhere.... no judgement... just curious where all the private keys are from

yup... anytime you suspect, best to do a clean wipe.... once compromised, no way to be sure your clean again without full re-install.... keyloggers and root kits can be pretty tough to find/remove after being installed properly
  • @DOGESTYLEEE #3153 04:42 PM, 06 Nov 2023

got ya.... FYI.. in the new version of counterparty, you will be able to use-reuse those "EMTPY" dispenser addresses..... no more burner dispenser addresses... can open dispenser from an address, close dispenser from address, reopen dispenser on that address, etc.... should make using "burner" addresses a thing of the past
  • @DOGESTYLEEE #3156 04:43 PM, 06 Nov 2023
i thought pkey only realy needed to import, as long as 12 words safe

  • @jdogresorg ↶ Reply to #3156 #3160 04:45 PM, 06 Nov 2023
12-word passohrase can generate infinite amount of addresses (each address has their private keys).... if your only using addresses accessed/generated by the 12-word passphrase.... all you ever need is the 12-word passphrase..... IF however, your importing private keys for addresses NOT associated with the 12-word passphrase, then you need to have those private keys to access those addresses
  • @jdogresorg #3162 04:46 PM, 06 Nov 2023
also.. freewallet should really have a simple "export wallet" and "import wallet" function... something to make dumping all the data to an external file easier.... will add in future release
  • @DOGESTYLEEE #3163 04:47 PM, 06 Nov 2023

GM @jdogresorg I wanted to confirm something that I believe is true - if opening FW with a particular 12 words will always generate addresses in the same order. Meaning if a wallet I created and then made 20 addresses, I can expect to find those same 20 addresses in a new instance of FW using the same 12 words. Does that make sense?
  • @jdogresorg #3169 07:08 PM, 06 Nov 2023
You are correct in your understanding... except that freewallet only adds the first 10 addresses to the wallet, so to access addresses #11-20, you would need to add 10 more addresses... but YES, those addresses will always be accessible by just using the 12-word passphrase 😉
  • @subterranean1 #3170 07:12 PM, 06 Nov 2023
Phew. Thanks for the confirmation. This has saved my ass a few times lately and I wanted to make sure it wasn’t dumb luck, but instead backed by Pepe science

Hey I'm trying to create an xcp dispenser and the numbers are way off on xchain. Anyone know if this is a freewallet issue or xchain issue? My escrow quantity should be 184 (not 18,400,000) and give quantity is 1 (not 100,000,000).

Also I used "high" transaction fee and it's still pending after 2 hours. Not sure if that's normal. I'm thinking I messed something up.

Unconfirmed transactions show amounts in Satoshi’s not in whole units… wait until the transaction confirms and then you’ll see the amount is exactly as you want it… eventually I’ll get around to updating the pool to pull in the asset divvisibility and display the quantity in the mempool correctly… but for now just know that equals Satoshi values

MPMA sends are a 2 part tx.... tx 1 encodes the data into "outputs"..... tx2 uses those outputs as inputs in the second tx and assembles the data into a tx that CP parses
  • @jdogresorg #3257 04:13 PM, 14 Nov 2023
the link you provided is to tx1.... which is not what shows up on xchain
  • @jdogresorg #3258 04:14 PM, 14 Nov 2023
xchain shows tx2 (since that is the tx with all the data which CP parses)
  • @jdogresorg #3259 04:14 PM, 14 Nov 2023
it looks like you tried to do an MPMA.... tx1 confirmed (426 confirmations)... but tx2 never confirmed (either low fee, or never generated)
  • @jdogresorg #3260 04:15 PM, 14 Nov 2023
looking at your wallet history... I see tx1 of an MPMA send... but not tx2... so maybe tx2 never got generated/broadcast... or paid too low of a fee and it got dropped (tho I see fees of like 34 sats/byte... so most likely... second tx never got generated/broadcast...
  • @jdogresorg #3261 04:16 PM, 14 Nov 2023
when you did the MPMA send from your wallet... did you get the emssage saying the send was successfull and a link to the txhash?
  • @Chadjordan #3262 04:16 PM, 14 Nov 2023

when doing MPMA sends.... do higher than "high fee"..... need better fee estimation in freewallet... works fine for most thing, but for MPMA, fee calculation is off since fee should be based on size of the tx.... ie, you send more, you pay more

Hi! What's currently the estimated cost for a multisend transaction in which one asset is sent to say 1000 addresses?
  • @B0BSmith #3323 11:42 AM, 21 Nov 2023
I have updated Freewallet and I am using testnet api to make a dispenser .. the txhex is decoded by the btns web decoder but says 'can not decode address' ..

When i try to sign tx in freewallet it hangs at 'decoding transaction' .. the older version signed the tx no problem

you should be able to throw a tx_hash or tx_hex at the BTNS-decoder.... if it is a tx_hash, then it makes a request to get the tx_hex and then decodes it.... so what your asking for should already be in there

if the second tx was never broadcast you can re create it using the CP API and then sign the tx using Javascript

OK so you paid a 11.9 sat/vB fee, which is too low. Right now the fee needs to be at least triple that to confirm within the next 48 hours or so.

The mempool may come down a bit in the next few days, in which case your tx will confirm. Worst case scenario is it is stuck for 13 more days, and then you get 0.00015 of the fee refunded.
  • @AdeKrypto #3382 05:53 AM, 28 Nov 2023
Okay ser. I was willing to pay high fee, I went higher than what FW suggested at the time of send.

This is why I need to know how to determine the sat/vB. I would appreciate if you can help with that ser

If I should resend , the same content in another tx, won't this old tx get confirmed too? Won't like sending assets unnecessarily twice.
  • @nutildah ↶ Reply to #3382 #3384 05:56 AM, 28 Nov 2023
It is hard to know for sure unless you follow the number of unspent inputs that are potentially going to be included in the transaction... What I would do is make a deposit and then send the entire balance with a higher fee.

But first of all, is this a multisend transaction?
  • @AdeKrypto #3385 05:57 AM, 28 Nov 2023
    Yes, it's a multisend
  • @nutildah #3386 05:59 AM, 28 Nov 2023
This happened to me once... There was nothing I could do except for wait for the transaction to fall out of the mempool. That takes 14 days.

The only other thing you can do is wait for the mempool to clear a bit. 11.9 sat/byte isn't too low. It's just low during BRC-20 pumps.
  • @nutildah #3387 05:59 AM, 28 Nov 2023
It will take at least a few days of no more BRC-20 mints tho.

Well the thing is I once tried that and it didn't work. It might work for you, but it depends on how many inputs are being included in the transaction. TBH $6 or $7 minimum.

Deposit from where? Are you sending coins from somewhere else to your Freewallet?

For a normal BTC, transaction with 1 input and 1 output, it will confirm in the next block with a fee of 0.0001. I look at this:

    https://mempool.observer/

Then look at what the 1 vMB line is at... Right now its about 40-41

    For an average transaction size of lets say 256 bytes, that's 256 x 0.00000041 = ~ 0.0001 BTC

The problem is your stuck transaction is 1256 bytes, which is almost 5x larger. So the next block fee would be 1256 x 0.00000041 = 0.00051496 BTC, or $19

Your tx is a first part of a two part multisend .... you need both parts to confirm for cards to move .. I don't see the second tx in the mempool, so when your tx

The second tx was unable to be generated....that was where it gave me the "error" notice.
  • @B0BSmith #3398 07:38 AM, 28 Nov 2023
yeah so if you start overr you wont be sending cards twice ..as the second tx didn't happen the first time you tried to send
