I think I need to get the latest version on my phone. Do I have to go to github to do that? I keep getting error trying to sign send transaction -
Oh yeah, the mobile version of free while it hasn’t been updated in a few years and the counterparty core developers decided to change the way that transactions are generated within counterparty and change them in such a way that they can no longer be signed by the mobile wallet…. They have the goal of stopping people from using freewallet and forcing users to use their wallet, and so then breaking transaction signing in freewallet mobile is one of the ways that they are trying to accomplish this task…. It is unfortunate but freewallet mobile version will no longer work to sign transactions until I get around to putting out an updated release, which won’t happen for a number of months as my focuses on building Xchain platform, an entirely new platform with more features and easier to use than counterparty

check your address with mempool.space and that should let you know if you have any pending txs.... either way, you should be able to sign a tx normally regardless of if you have a pending one or not 🙂

Are you using free wallet, mobile, or free while the desktop? If you’re using free wallet, mobile it no longer works because the counterparty core Dave’s changed the transaction version number to 2 instead of 1….. so you will need to use free wallet desktop if you’re trying to sign transactions using the latest version of counterparty

Yeah, you should upgrade to the latest version of free wallet desktop…. I put out a new release about six months ago that handle signing version two transactions….. actually it decodes the version two transaction and translates it into a version. One transaction again basically undoing what the counterparty core devs forced on the community….

Yup just the 12 words…. Though you should be able to upgrade the wallet in place and not have to enter your 12 Word passphrase again…. But for sure you should have a backup of your 12 word passphrase, as well as as a backup of the private keys of any addresses that you have imported into free wallet, desktop

I think it’s just a misunderstanding, quickest way to clear things up is sign a message to prove address ownership n then no more words need to be said…. As the saying goes, don’t trust, verify.
In any case, I can see both sides… as a relatively new person in the community can seem harsh to be met with such criticism…. At the same time this community is pretty tight knit and goes out of its way to protect people within the community from scammers…
I make no judgments either way, and respectfully request that you two figure it out on your own…. Either by signing a message so there is no doubt that you control the address you say you do, or by stopping communication with one another…. No one really enjoys seeing public feuds like this. 👍🏻 -

Probably the simplest way to do it would be to publicly broadcast a message from your address that says verifying ownership of address by LVS…. Then you can just link the transaction here or anywhere else that you wanna proove that you own the address.

Just go to free wallet, change to the address that you want to proove that you own and from the main menu choose broadcast message…. Then type something like “ address ownership verification by LVS” and then click broadcast…. Once the transaction is mined paste the link here.

the latest genius move by adam and team.... change the ledger / txlist / messages hashes which have been rock solid for 10+ years.... so now no longer able to validate that data was parsed into the CP database correctly using hashes from many years ago... such a sad state of affairs when one person does what they want without any consideration for what is best for the community 😢️️️️️️

It’s also a great way to post things where people in the community are not aware of them and to not allow anyone that is not semi technical to participate in sharing their opinion…
I would agree that github is a great place to report issues and get them resolved, however for suggesting new features and discussing those features with a large community that is not necessarily technical and 99% of the people do not have or understand how to use github it is less than ideal .
Point in case, if you look at the linked item, it was out there open for discussion for many many months and yet no one commented … however, now that the code changes are in place. There are a large number of people who are confused and upset and concerned about the hashes changing…… so clearly there is a community that wants to discuss this issue and is affected by this issue and was unaware of this issue until it was changed in code.
We used to have a counterparty improvement proposal process where all changes were discussed openly in the forums at length before any suggested code changes were proposed … though those were thrown in the garbage can pretty quickly when Adam took control again -
It could be a failed asset issuance where someone tried to register the asset Name, but didn’t have enough XP to register it…. You should just be able to ignore that pop-up message and try to issue it again and if no one owns it, you should get it

As to your question of who knows best for the community…. That’s a tough question to answer, but it is certainly not just two or three developers making the decisions for everyone, as is the situation now….consensus is hard, but in the past, it has worked and changes and update updates have been able to be made without such controversies and chain forks as we have had in the past year.
Take a look at atomic swaps something that majority of the community didn’t ask for yet was forced on the community by the developers and now what do we have? A grand total of one successful atomic swap in the past three months…. Definitely doesn’t seem like a project that’s being driven by community demands🤷🏻♂️ -

for the record the community (imo) was pretty gung ho about getting atomic swaps - but it was under the guise and promise we could buy and sell xcp assets on magic eden / ordinal friendly centralized marketplaces ..... other than trustless swaps on chain using btc, we wanted marketplaces to support our assets in a similar way they already do now with ordinals.... but alas.... xcp still doesnt exist to 95% of the community because "ordinals" are the only btc nfts
also was always confused about how all block explorers using xcp orders (xcp dex) can see any open orders on the protocol but only atomic swap 'confirmed swaps' are protocol wide public.... -

Unfortunately, they have not set up a name for that room so it’s not easy to find and join either…. I went ahead and added you so you can complain there if you want….. also rather than using a centralized service like easy asset where you rely on their service staying up and where you have to pay a unchained transaction fee every single time you wanna make a slight change, you might want to consider hosting your own images and json files….. It’s not as complex as you might think and it would save you a good amount on fees since you only pay a transaction fee one time to point your asset to the nson and after that you can easily update your files and images without needing to pay in additional on chain fee

Ryanson was using Casa Tookan to initiate a dispenser (and since dispenser logic got changed and Casa did not update to accomadate that protocol change) his dispense did not auto initiate

interesting... I raised the same objectionsJPJA did about the hashes changing.... and it got me blocked from the repository.... so now i'm not able to even contribute bug reports.... sucks, cuz I just found and reported an issue last week with dispensers not being able to be created using subasset name (even tho the documentation indicated we should, and always have been able to reference the asset by asset name or subasset name)

strange you didn't get your XCP... either someone scooped the XCP from the dispenser before your tx was mined in a block.... or, you sent BTC from a non-counterparty compatible wallet... which no longer works... the Counterparty core devs broke dispensers (according to them "fixed" dispensers) in such a way that now dispensers only work to dispense if you use a counterparty compatible wallet to send the BTC

you just need to re-add one by one, hierarchically deterministic, so same addresses will add back, 11, 12, 13, etc -
Imported addresses won't be added back tho, so make sure to save pkey on any imported address

Look at the status of the issuance it says that the issuance is invalid because you’re trying to reset a token which does not exist yet… you should first try to issue that token with the amount of supply and divisibility that you want.

My guess is this is got another difference between 10.10.1 which tokenscan.io and XcP.io are running on and 11.O.O which is as of yet unreleased and is what horizon runs on….
10.10.1 sees the issuance as trying to reset a non-existing numeric
11.0.0 Sees it as a valid named asset issuance…
This is very bizarre to have different versions of counterparty, parsing an issuance transaction differently…. It’s definitely something that Adam should explain as his explorer is the only one that shows the issuance as a success. Meanwhile, other explorers and the current version of counterparty see the issuance as invalid and numeric. -
I’d create an issue about this however I’ve been blocked from filing any bug reports or giving any comments on counterpartys GitHub repo

Once I’m done with X chain platform, I will rebrand free wallet to a new name and add support for a mobile version probably….. unfortunately due to the changes within encounter party free wallet mobile is no longer able to sign transactions generated by counterparty and therefore free wallet mobile no longer works
