So i tried to do the new update and the wallet isn’t seeable.
The app looks like it’s open just can’t see the wallet.
Went back and downloaded the last version and it worked fine.
Just thought I would share that.

Whats the best version of freewallet to use to sign testnet transactions? Which version was the last to not have the txhex decode? -
latest version of freewallet should allow signing/decoding of txs on mainnet/testnet.... Decoding XCP transactions when trying to sign a raw tx was added in 0.9.24 .... so, if you want to sign raw txs on testnet... gotta either use 0.9.23 or earlier... or the latest version 0.9.26. -

0.9.26 just released yesterday.... timing release so that some of the issuance options line up with the block activation (stopping passing asset description forward in asset transfers... to make asset transfers cheap... no longer require stampers to re-encode their image on transfers)

i keep getting this loading page when i try to mint a token. and/or send BTC to make a transaction...anyone know what i should do? it just seems to be loading for ages. i updated latest version. rebooted computer. still same issue. i tried buying something from the pepewtf drop earlier. not sure if the tx went through. twice and something got stuck?

its an xchain display issue... in counterparty, we added the origin field, and retroactively populated that field.... counterparty2mysql just started parsing the new origin field for new dispensers... but I never went back and updated all the past 76000+ dispensers with this origin_id field..... which I am doing now

its not "Fees on FW"... Freewallet just shows you the current fees the bitcoin network requires.... bitcoin network is busy, fees go up... thats what is happening here.. 150K pending txs

Can you please show the user the size of the tx ... so we can set an appropriate fee ourselves (in sats) using the custom setting
currently custom let's you specify the number of sats but without knowing tx size it's a guessing game .... or perhaps allow users to set a 'fee per kb' ? -
Yes, once I have pre-flight checks built into freewallet, I can easily display the total tx size 🙂

Atm Most tx in FW are signed/broadcast at the same time after clicking on "broadcast".
So it can't have the final tx size, however it will be pointless when @jdogresorg will implement the fee/vB -

I verified that data on xchain was not matching CP for that dispenser...rolled back to 820360 on xchain and did a reparse of the data from counterparty.... seems to be fixed now... could be related to a reorg (xchain doesn't have automatic reorg rollbacks like counterparty does)

A bip39 pk on the bip44 derivation path will give you a different segwit address to a bip 39 pk on the 84 derivation path

If you’re having problems signing, that means, you can’t access the private key…. Try switching to a different address and then switching back and trying again.

Hrm…. No significant changes in FW that I can think would cause that…. You try logging out entirely n closing fw n logging back in? Dunno why segwit won’t work for u but false == not able to access private key… maybe your address/derivation path got somehow off…. A full reset should resolve

sounds like you have an issue which was fixed quite a few releases ago... where if you switch back and forth between different seeds, sometimes the addresses wouldn't reset fully, so you could see 2 addresses #1 but only be able to use one

My advice is the same... reset your wallet entirely, logout, close the app, open it back up and restore using your 12-word passphrase..... the other "addresses" in your wallet are not usable anyway (say false when trying to access the private key)... so not like your able to use them now and your not going to be able to after the reset.

So I found the private key to the other address #1 (when I first used freewallet a couple years ago) and it turns out it’s a non-deterministic wallet. How did the other segwit addresses get generated? I’m assuming they’re the same - non deterministic

I am seeing this exact error over the cp api even tho I have just 1 utxo with far more sats than I need ... a few seconds later the exact same api request returns txhex ... so there is something funny going on behind the scenes

yeah... CP has been randomly throwing that error for a while.. retrying the tx usually fixes... tough to track down exactly what is going on unless we are able to reproduce... could be failure in api call to addrindexrs, perhaps returning an null or 0 balance (guessing)... which then kicks out the error message about not enough balance.

If you figure out a way to repeat the issue... even semi-consistently (1 in 10 requests throws error)... pls create a github issue with the details and i'm sure someone will dig into it.... its annoying having bad error messages and having to "retry" transactions with the API to get a tx to sign.

Please refer to Apple support for guidance to correctly install Freewallet. The process includes going to your "Settings" - then "Privacy" - and then clicking "Open Anyway".

Stamps are considered Numeric XCP tokens and have many functionalities within the open source wallet here called Freewallet.io .... As for "connecting" the wallet like metamask or other browser wallets, freewallet does not do such a "connecting" function at all like those other wallets

for instance you would NOT want to send them to a taproot address (ordinals)

as for using functionality of stamps (numeric assets) I would recommend having them in a Counterparty compatible address such as legacy or segwit and having the pneumonic seed phrase generation be either in Counterwallet or BIP-39 format

well.... not true. You can log-in with Freewallet on pepe.wtf and some other sites. It's a bit more manual than Metamask in that you have to cut and paste a signature, but conceptually its the same thing.
