You can just enter any asset name that you own in the destination field, and it will automatically convert to the asset owner address

For instance, you could pull up the send form…. And enter jdog as the destination, and when you tab to the next field, JDOG is converted to my Bitcoin address

That functionality should work in both FreeWallet and doge wallet desktop

Yup… can only create dispensers on your “source” address now…. If you want to open dispenser on a new/empty address, you have to send Bitcoin and the asset to the new address and then changed to that new dispenser address and then open the dispenser.

It “should” work… but only way to be 100% sure is to test it yourself… I’ve learned to not trust the “should work” promises from core devs, since so many things that “should work” have turned out to not work.

Correct it is perfectly fine inside horizon because horizon talks directly to the counterparty database….. versus token scan which pulls data out of the slow, counterparty database and put it into a much faster. MySQL database….. if you happen to try to load up, say 100 results or so on horizon versus token scan token scan loads the results within about one to two seconds versus horizon which takes 6 to 8 seconds..

Just because court developers are able to make changes to the protocol and then immediately update their explorer to show things correctly. Does not mean that they are not creating problems for everyone else in the ecosystem, except for people who are using their explorer and their wallet.

I’m sorry you feel that me pointing out that proper testing is not done, that we have had about 15 releases in the past month. Half of them due to issues with counterparty core crashing due to things not working as the court developers said they would, are considered personal attack attacks

Many in the community would much rather prefer a stable code base, which can be achieved with proper testing rather than a new release every few days to fix issues that should’ve been found in testing 🤷🏻‍♂️

And if you’re happy with Horizon explore and wallet, I suggest that you use those tools as your primary way to interact with counterparty and then you won’t need to use FreeWallet or token scan anymore🤷🏻‍♂️

Xcp.io queries counterparty node directly…. Which is not a fast way to do things…. No site or explorer is getting 80k unique users per month and 24 million API requests…

It’s pretty easy to keep a site up when you don’t have much load on it…. But token scan stays up handles request, much faster and handles a ton more request than any other explorer or Wallet or website out there right now for counterparty.

once the other sites are able to scale to that level of load, I’d be happy to use them for comparison🤷🏻‍♂️

Apparently they have a testing suite that is supposed to test everything before release and make sure it’s all good… they made a big deal about spending a month or so getting the testing suite working again….but it’s clearly not working to find issues as one would expect… which is evidenced by the 15+ software releases in the past few weeks🤷🏻‍♂️

I understand bugs happen in production… almost impossible to make software 100% bulletproof… but a good amount of issues can be found with proper testing…

For instance, they had MPMA sends “working” in counterparty 2.0 and never tested if they had the ability to send a memo… when I discovered it was not working as it should be, I reported the issue and was told that I was wrong, and then when I pointed out that counterparty had lost some functionality and linked to proof…. I was told it was my fault for not testing their software and finding this issue months ago… and the bug report was closed, and my comments were marked as abusive🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

Thanks, getting an AJAX error sometimes, when clicking through pages of assets on addresses... from page 1 to page 2, and from page 4 to page 3... can click to last page and work back to page 4, but can't go 1 to 2, or 4 to 3

When you’re getting the Ajax error, are you sure you’re not hitting rate limiting? It could be that you’re loading data faster than the rate limiting allows… so instead of getting a response of data that loads into the table you get a webpage that tells you that your rate limited… which would throw an error since the table is expecting to load JSON data n not a webpage

I also know that some pages on token scan have issues with paging to the very end and then going backwards, but it’s usually only with large amounts of data…. If you can determine if it’s right limiting that’s causing your problems or paging it would be helpful.P

You should be able to right click on the webpage and choose inspect and then go to the console tab… and see if you see any red lines

the replay protection permanently separates the 2 counterparty platforms... so transactions done on CP 2.0 are not seen as valid on Classic, and vice versa... Users can use 2.0 or Classic based on what ledger they want to interact with.... Classic has dispsensers with origin functionality to open dispensers on new addresses in 1 tx, and 1 tx to close and return funds... also has the cheaper p2sh MPMA sends, and support for multiple memos.... CP 2.0 has numeric subassets, fair mints, and atomic swaps

Most ppl will still prolly use CP 2.0, which is fine, and why freewallet will stay on Cp 2.0... but, enough users have expressed interest in having a stable version of CP with the features that they are used to having... so for those users, there is the classic ledger.... after block 873,000... the replay protection will kick in (around December 1st) and from that point on, what takes place on one platform will not take place on the other

You can setup dispensers on addresses on both platforms... and ppl are able to trigger dispensers on both platforms... so its possible to use both ledgers in tandem... but, prolly best to pick one and stick with it

Anyway, I've been having issues trying to register an asset with CoinDaddy. I guess miner fees I'm using in FreeWallet hasn't been high enough? After 1st try yesterday I set fees to Custom doubling+/- the fees. What makes me think it didn't happen was reading on CoinDaddy payment page that late payment not accepted. Also I didnt get confirmation that asset had been successfully registered. Only way I know to check is to search asset name to see if still available.

2nd payment yesterday had one confirmation within 15 minute window.

Question: does payment need to be in next block within that 15 minutes or simply payment being made within that 15 minutes? I'm way over paying I believe.

And ofc I check by seeing asset not in my CoinDaddy account or in wallet

The ledgers already were “duplicated” by counterparty 2.0… classic just adds replay protection so the ledgers are permanently separated and users can interact with either ledger without effecting the other ledger..

BTC is an underlying asset, so ur btc balance won’t change and u can continue to use btc on either platform to pay for txs.

As for counterparty assets, ppl who held cp assets at the time of the fork at block 866000 have the same assets and balances on both ledgers…. And after replay protection you will be free to buy or sell assets on either ledger completely independent of one another

So, my freewallet btc balance… as it is right now, if I were to open both versions of freewallet after replay protection engages, will only be able to be spent from one of them, correct?

I wouldn’t think of it as “doubling” assets/balances so much as having the same assets/balances on a separate ledger…. Doubling makes ppl think if the had 1 card on one ledger, they will now have 2 cards on that one ledger…. That is not the case… users will have 1 card on cp 2.0 and one card on classic and can/buy/sell those tokens separately on the different ledgers…. Similar to a “doubling” but not exactly the same… small distinction

You setup a new passphrase n sweep your 2.0 assets to a new cp 2.0 address….. if you use both platforms from the same address, and use new features like atomic swap, then classic could spend utxos as it always has, cuz its not aware of cp 2.0 atomic swap utxos, so you could unintentionally send your cp 2.0 atomic swap assets in a normal classic tx….. so, for added safety, best to use a brand new wallet/address on 2.0 so txs you do in classic will be using a entirely different set of addresses than 2.0

Both XCP classic and XCP 2.0 always refer to the Bitcoin blockchain. So whatever you do with your Bitcoin... it will show on both, because the data is always being pulled from the Bitcoin blockchain.... Xcp assets on the other hand refer to what Jdog described

Yes if you sent $10 in BTC to the address... Did a TX on XCP classic (or xcp 2.0) for $1... You'd have $9 ....

BTC is BTC, and whatever the BTC block explorers say for your address is the truth for BTC balance and history
