ahh thx for the heads up... ppl overloading that server with requests to public.tokenscan.io... will put a "fix" in place to keep that server up.
-
Release v0.9.36 · jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop
Updates to support Fair Minting
-
you can download wallet direct from github here
-
change xchain.io to public.tokenscan.io?
-
thank you
-
Will upgrading Freewallet to the latest version affect the use of BTNS?
-
right now no API servers are up... public.tokenscan.io, api.counterparty.io, etc... so, doesn't really matter until a new CP release is put out which can address some of these underlying issues
-
no, BTNS just uses counterparty broadcast feature... so doesn't effect BTNS.. except, you can't do any counterparty (or BTNS) transactions until the counterparty APIs are up
-
Ok, thank you
-
thank you for this, will be helpful for the core team
-
LOL... ok, we will wait until the CP API is back up at api.counterparty.io... then you can change your server settings to use api.counterparty.io, take a screenshot of your settings, and try again.... its not a tokenscan.io or freewallet specific issue, as the CP API is generating the transaction..... but clearly they only gonna investigate when they are 1.) free from all this other MINT drama... and 2.) when there is no public.tokenscan.io in the middle (which I can kinda understand)
-
the fact that the API was able to generate, sign. and broadcast the tx tells me the CP API generated the tx fine (and this was before all the load issues).... but, prolly gotta let the dust settle a lil bit more first... if there are any dispenser issues (other than them being a bit crippled now), I imagine other users will find out
-
Thx @jdogresorg for your answer 🙏
-
Just a head's up for anyone running the latest MacOS Sequoia (15.1 beta). The old trick of "right-click" and then "open" to bypass the security alert no longer works. Apple has now instituted a more cumbersome process which only works for 1 hour.
I have a few Macs that are older which still work fine using the old "right-click" method, but my Mac on the latest build of MacOS now requires doing these steps. -
I'm still unclear if this is required to do over and over (the one hour thing) or just the first time after installation.
-
so the app only runs for 1 hour? the button only appears for 1 hour? what happens after 1 hour when you close the app and try to re-open it?
-
I'll let you know in about an hour
-
lol... they really trying to force everyone to use the app store.
-
thx 🙂
-
I should get app in the app store neway... just a pain to have to jump through more hoops.... was a PITA with freewallet-mobile 😛
-
@jdogresorg I think its just the first time, since I just upgraded to the latest build. https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/mac-help/mh40616/macOpen a Mac app from an unknown developer
If you try to open an app by an unknown developer and you see a warning dialog on your Mac, you can override your security settings to open it.

has anyone tested transfers?
-
i just sent 500, on tokenscan its reflecting as 50 Billion lol
-
but in freewallet everything appeared correct
-
must be ui bug
-
confirmed and everything updated in wallet balance looks good
-
"JDOG and his team is on it" - grimy cold calls
-
Yeah…. Pending txs are shown in satoshi format… since I don’t hit the db to lookup divisibility for every tx… once tx confirms it’s shown in normal format.
-
Made sense once confirmed. Good to know.
-
-
xD
-
-
Are Xchain(btns) and Counterparty 2.0 competitors? What are their similarities and differences?
-
? xD
-
👋
i tried to update settings but i can't see my dispensed asset (https://blockstream.info/tx/f27f7cd4b7fa5637cd59059a99bd5fa1bef7da277df6437374983b5035221905) : -
patience is a virtue :D
-
thx for your reply :)
-
it will work if you wait
-
-
-
-
sure :)
-
my problem is i had not receive my assets from that dispenser after paid with my btc 😢
-
(sorry for my english :) )
-
oooooooooh
-
Counterparty API communication error! 😢
-
apk
-
Sounds like an issue with counterparty-core... please bring it up with them... you USED to be able to just do a BTC send in ANY wallet... now you have to make sure your using a "counterparty compatible" wallet... the CP API is "supposed" to automatically detect sending of BTC to an address which has a dispenser and convert to their new "dispense" command... but seems like that might be having some issues... best to verify with them
-
Counter ordinals party
-
-
👋 @jdogresorg thx again for your advice, i'm going to submit that issue again to them 🙏
-
Ye raise it with them, their so good at developing 😂
-
-
-
i have submitted a ticket yesterday or something like that, and they replied : https://github.com/CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core/issues/2451#issuecomment-2423179429XCP dispense through FreeWallet.io partially done : BTC spent but not received my XCP · Issue #2451 · CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core
Steps To Reproduce If you think you've found a bug, list the steps to reproduce the unexpected behavior: Dispense XCP from dispenser through FreeWallet.io desktop during very high traffic Scree...
-
Also might be worth tryign to get in contact with the dispenser operator and ask for your BTC back 😉
-
But you cant get the fee back though right ?
-
nope, btc fee is gone forever... but if you find the dispenser operator, you should be able to get your BTC back
-
i didn't know that would be possible...
-
also make sure you click "Reset to Defaults" in freewallet server settings... wanna make sure your using the default public.tokenscan.io which is on 10.5.0-alpha2
-
is there a tuto for that ? (plz)
-
i use this conf :
-
1.) get the dispenser address 2.) ask in telegram if anyone knows who the address belongs to 3.) get in contact via telegram or email with the owner
-
thx again master ;)
-
yup looks good... and you were buying XCP from a dispenser using freewallet?
-
exact ;)
-
could be their "auto-convert BTC send to dispenser buy" code is not working with the /v1/ API... but not sure... so it seems your the only complaint i've heard with this issue
-
but dispenser buys are definitely down from the amount of dispenses I used to see... but could just be ppl busy with fairmints
-
(i tried another dispenser address today but it seems to be the same behaviour )
-
might want to try funding a "horizon wallet" address and do the buy from their wallet... see if it works using their wallet... if so, might help track down the issue (I still use /v1/ API endpoints in freewallet... they use /v2/ in their wallet).... the CP API is "SUPPOSED" to auto-convert /v1/ to /v2/ apis and be backwards compatible... but maybe this one slipped through the cracks... the more details you can provide to them, the easier it is to figure out wtf is going on
-
good idea, i wanted to test that some hours ago but there was CP AI error before sending btc ;)
-
i 'm going to try
-
Could the owner of 1LiFyBHSuF6RV8eqUpasXZq5q1ckyC1e7N dispenser contact me in DM plz ?
-
Could the owner of 16TNY6JF5dkYC3ghRuJ9nb27oE9Z6zA3GM dispenser contact me in DM plz ?
-
best to search for those addresses in your chat history.... I was able to find that 16TNY6JF5dkYC3ghRuJ9nb27oE9Z6zA3GM appears to belong to DanceTurn... check rare pepe chat
-
thx i'm going to ask for him ;)
-
This your wallet on the newest release?
-
Was updated yesterday morning
-
it an imported wallet (casa tookan from Spells of Genesis)
-
Yes but the software of your wallet, recent revision?
-
9.36
-
ah no, i don't think so
-
Update my friend. And reset your computer. Should be fine
-
Everything been smooth lately-last 24 hours
-
yes, on xcp.dev, the stats reflects the reality but not tokenscan.io for ex
-
but if i tried another buying , i might lost my funds for the thrid time , right ?
-
yup... make sure on latest version of freewallet 0.9.36 and make sure you click "Reset to defaults" in server settings... should be good now.
-
i'm seeing successfull dispenser buys using freewallet (know it is via freewallet cuz there is an auto-donation on the tx)... so, AFAIK, using latest version with default servers works fine.
-
i checked and i run the latest version of FW
-
but the wallet from which i imported address used for buy dispenser has not been updated from the team recently
-
(maybe i misunderstood, sorry)
-
This is what matters.
-
Wallet software up to specs.
-
Maybe you missed amount by 1 sat
-
Or there's an issue. Not sure what's the case
-
I just did a test to buy 1 XCP from a dispenser and it worked as it should
-
-

Seeing dispense on tokenscan

TLDR... appears to be working fine 🙂
-
Maybe he got front run?
-
Would be the simplest explanation
-
naww... prolly generated tx with old version of CP... since no op_return in the tx.. just btc payment...and a dispense was triggered on xcp.dev... coulda been server settings were bad at the time
-
A glitch in the matrix
-
i tried with another address (FW native one begin with 1...) : https://mempool.space/tx/bcee9ce65c0b23dd9b856ddfa77d20f19679c796485bfc4f4368ecb1f868ec45Bitcoin Transaction: bcee9ce65c0b23dd9b856ddfa77d20f19679c796485bfc4f4368ecb1f868ec45

from horizon wallet
-
yup, I see OP_RETURN in that tx... should work fine
-
-
I confirm it is ok from native FW address from horizon wallet
-
So it might bé thé non native FW addy i used to buy assets from dispenser
-
The address you use doesn’t really matter what matters is the API that you use to generate the transaction.
-
I never change thé configuration before having thèse issues 🙂
-
there is something very strange with my address 1BRmxSXSDpMpR3Ei6Ck3zpQB7u8xwnbFWA
-
XCP balance for this address :
- tokenscan.io : 3 xcp
- Horizon explorer : 9 xcp
- xcp.dev : 15 xcp (with those 2 from without OP return tx) -
i tried to send XCP to that addy but .... https://explorer.unspendablelabs.com/tx/179f103ab2e54da3d659f092003ce434dfadcb76736684412d3f5727689acfc8Horizon Explorer

-
re-synced your balances on your address.. both horizon and tokenscan now show 9 xcp
-
sec.. found an issue with cp2mysql n data syncing... fixing
-
fixed... tokenscan.io back synced up..
-
I downloaded the latest Linux FW update to Downloads folder, extracted it, then ran install.sh, every file and directory I have in the Downloads folder is being copied to the /usr/share/FreeWallet directory...
I suppose that I should extract to another Directory before running the install script, but where? -
can prolly just use /tmp/ 🙂
-
prolly best to run from command line too instead of a double-click
-
cd /tmp/
wget https://github.com/jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop/releases/download/v0.9.36/FreeWallet.linux64.tgz
tar -xvzf FreeWallet.linux64.tgz
cd FreeWallet
sudo ./install.sh -
know anyway to stop the script running in the background?
-
been a while since I did a linux install... think you shold be able to just run as your normal user (no sudo)... but can't hurt to run as superuser 🙂
-
ps -auxf | grep "install.sh" | awk '{print $2}' | xargs kill -9
-
dump process list... find installer... extract second field (PID)... send to kill -9
-
🙂

its new update on freewllet?
-
im try to made adispenser some minutes ago but it fail various times
-
so i test with horizon and work without problem
-
i have 0.9.36
-
did you get an API error?
-
no any, all process ok on the freewallet but the dispenser never open and never show the transaction on tokenscan, so i try do again and no work. so i test on horizon and inmediatly open the dispenser
-
do me a favor and log the tx's and process here below in a FW issue on the github: https://github.com/jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop/issues/newLink

Thanks J-Dog!
-
ok, i'll test opening a dispenser tonight... could be that there is a regression between the /v1/ API and the /v2/ API in counterparty-core... nothing has changed in freewallet regarding dispensers other than removing origin field... so in theory should work.. but have seen other stuff that "should work" in the new counterparty-core release which does not... so I will setup dispenser tonight and verify 🙂
-
pls make sure your on the default api server (settings->reset to default)
-
yes im checking and is the defautl
-
Thx... I raised issue in counterparty main channel... and will do some testing of my own tonight... also planning on putting out a freewallet update tomorrow with fairminters support and prolly migrate all API requests to use /v2/ instead of /v1/ 🙂
-
👋
did you want to dispense POOPDAY ? -
Yes, but I opened the dispenser for Horizon
-
thx for feedback. I've got he same issue but for buy asset from a dispenser :)
-
@jdogresorg might be this issue linked to mine ?
-
for buy someone have the same problem but is a fail on tokenscan, so him receive the asset some days after the buy. do you can check on xcp page because sometimes no update tokenscan
-
thx for that good news :)
-
hope that will happen to me :D
-
-
Hi, I get the following message DataTables warning: table id=DataTables_Table_19 - Requested unknown parameter '6' for row 0, column 6. in the freewallet desktop. Also the tables dissapear after a few seconds in the Exchange / XCP tab. The other tabs work fine. Is this a known issue?
-
-
No… your issue was buying from a dispenser…. Gabriel’s was opening a dispenser…. And I tested buying from dispenser a while ago from freewallet n it worked fine…. I asked u to retry but u used horizon instead🤷🏻♂️
-
Will put out update tomorrow to use /v2/ api endpoints (same as horizon), as it seems there are issues at times using the /v1/ api…. Which is “supposed to” work according to core devs, but hearing of a few issues, so better for me to update to /v2/ api endpoints tomorrow rather than keep using /v1/
-
User was attempting to buy XCP which could be a expensive test. Perhaps they could substitute XCP for the cheapest asset available.
-
I did test n it worked fine
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Will test creating a dispenser when I get home in a couple hours, n put out an updated wallet tomorrow (with fairminters support)
-
-
-
Thx u all for all your tests but the context was a little different i think, i made it during the high rate request an "network" unstability
-
i made it twice but same issue :)

Okay probably been asked but on free wallet how many tokens do you mint when you mint a certain asset ?
Is it a set amount or ?
Because I set the supply amount already ? -
Just put amount in there ? There is no limits ?
-
Limit is given by how the fairminters is setup…. But apparently the cp code automatically adjusts ther quantity to the max allowed if over the max…. I think it’s a mistake to change quantities from what user enters n instead should throw error…. But it is what it is

Missing Sanity Checks on Fair Mints · Issue #2421 · CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core

-
-
-
-
Hrm that isn’t supposed to happen…. Perhaps some of your state files became corrupted. You should have your 12-word passphrase written down (the wallet makes you confirm you wrote it down before allowing you to use the wallet)
-
I believe @cryptochainer has some experience with backing up files n restoring wallet if u have backups
-
-
Hey so is there an option to have royalties off of mints is anyone. Doing that ?
-
I think pre-mint exists as an option.
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
You’re the third person to report this issue…. Nothing has changed in FreeWallet with regards to how dispensers are created…. The only difference is that FreeWallet uses the v1 API, which is supposed to work without any problems and be 100% backwards compatible…. But clearly that seems to not be the case.
This is an issue in counterparty-core…. But rather asking for the devs to look into the issue waiting for the devs to look into the issue and fix it, as I did yesterday, I’ll be spending some time today updating FreeWallet to use the V2 end points and putting out a new release…. Including support for fairminters (creating a farmint)
I had hoped to not be forced to update a bunch of my code without testing the new endpoints first, but it seems there is a regression in counterparty-core, and I don’t wanna wait around while any more users lose funds, trying to open a dispenser and waste BTC
TLDR yea there is issue n I’ll put out updated freewallet today that fixes issue 🤷🏻♂️ -
will put out an update later today for freewallet which addresses counterparty-core not working to open dispensers as it is "supposed" to using the /v1/ endpoints
-
Hi, can anyone please help? i need to import native segwit private key to free wallet for bc1q address. i Don't have seed phrase.
-
-
can only import private key once you are in a wallet seed... so generate a new wallet 12-word passphrase, then go to "Import private keys"
-
-
-
-
when importing segwit private key... make sure to import private key with p2wpkh: prefix.... ie... p2wpkh:private_key_goes_here
-
back in an hour or so... need a siesta before another push on tokenscan.io and wallet updates
-
best to just wait a few hours... dont waste any more funds trying to open dispenser in freewallet... there is an issue where counterparty-core update made things not work..
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Done, thanks a lot! I was trying it on the existing imported wallet, which showed an error. I switched to the main wallet and followed your instructions, and it was successfully imported.
-
dispensers aren`t loading for me
-
-
-
Because Counterparty devs decided to remove the ability to create dispeners on any address but "source".... thereby making ppl have to use 3 transactions to open a dispenser on a new/empty address
-
Also made MPMA sends much more expensive recently.... here are the release notes I included with FreeWallet 0.9.34
-
Release v0.9.35 · jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop
Updates Disabled origin functionality in dispensers (counterparty-core 10.4 Required) Disabled P2SH encoding on MPMA Sends (counterparty-core 10.4 Required) Developer Release Notes Counterparty 1...
-
Developer Release Notes
Counterparty 10.4 removed dispenser origin functionality
This means no more simple opening up dispensers on an address other than source in a single transaction, thereby requiring 3 transactions and making dispensers more expensive to use and difficult to manage.
This is unfortunate as it has the following consequences :
Before counterparty-core 10.4 :
- Open dispenser was 1 transaction (fund dispenser address with asset and open dispenser)
- Close dispenser and return funds was 1 transaction (close dispenser and return funds to origin address)
- Could trigger a dispenser with a normal BTC send from any address (onboarded lots of ppl to Counterparty)
After counterparty-core 10.4 :
- Open dispenser is 3 transactions (1=send BTC to dispenser address, 2=send asset to dispenser address, 3=open dispenser)
- Close dispenser and return funds is 3 transactions (1=Close Dispenser, 2=send asset from dispenser address back to source, 3=Send BTC from dispenser address back to source)
- Must use a counterparty wallet in order to trigger a dispenser (Users must first download counterparty wallet before being able to use dispensers)
I raised this issue to the core devs and was ignored : CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core#1764 (comment)
Counterparty 10.4 disabled P2SH encoding
As of counterparty-core 10.4, P2SH encoding is disabled and multisig is required for MPMA/Multi Sends.
This is unfortunate as it has the following consequences :
- Sends are now much more expensive due to being forced to use multisig encoding, which requires more outputs to encode the data than P2SH encoding did
- Sends using multisig result in leaving small amounts of BTC in multisig outputs, which requires the user to collect the outputs at a high cost in the future. -
So I am assuming now we can just use the source address to create dispensers directly .? Sorry novice
-
yes, you can only use the source address to open up dispensers... if you want to open up multiple dispensers at the same time and NOT risk triggering multiple dispensers with a single BTC payment, still gotta use separate addresses.... so, 3 txs (send btc, send asset, open dispenser) instead of 1tx
-
-
I fought against this change for months, but the core devs gonna do what they want and feel their view is the best.... just sucks for you users that you now gotta jump through more hoops and pay for more tx fees.
-
WTF, as if transactions on BTC are not expensive enough, let’s force you to have to pay 3 x the fees you used to.
This is madness. -
Well... I kept hearing that I was lying and that you can open dispensers on new address with just 1 tx.... so maybe now is the time to ask in counterparty channels how it is that one can open up a dispenser on a new address using just 1 tx... cuz AFAIK you can't... you still gotta transfer BTC and assets to the address first... THEN it is "one tx to open dispeneser".... ignoring the 2 txs necessary to fund the new address... lol
-
This is not going to aid adoption, it only benefits early adopters who bought thousands of BTC for pennies. SHAME.
-
Wait .. if my source addy has multiple Pepes and I create a dispenser from the source address , then isn’t it only one Tx?.. I mean if I am not opening multiple dispensers at the same time. And then I can use my same source to create another dispenser later , isn’t it , for another asset ?
Ps : I may be reta**ded -
I would ask in counterparty channel for clarification... They are the experts in the way that their new dispensers work (or dont)... so best to ask there
-
sorry.... not trying to be a jerk... just done trying to explain things for them... they should be the ones explaining their decisions and seeing the repercussions
-
-

@jdogresorg 👋
So, may WE have to downgrade freewallet to 0.9.35 version ? -
BTW if you FAIRMINT - A7805927145042695546 it's actually USMINT.GOV sub-asset and we can mint our way to pay off the national debt of 35 Trillion by creating money more real then federal reserve notes kek -

-
huh? there is no downgrading.... counterparty-core 10.4 forced these changes, if you want to use counterparty, this is now just the "new way" and you have to use it... more expensive multi-sig MPMA sends... and back to 3 txs to open dispensers on new/empty addreses.. I WISH there was a way to keep using this functionality, but if you want to stay on "counterparty" gotta stay on current 0.9.36+ version of freewallet
-
This is an absolute nightmare situation. I'm truly sorry for what this new/old team has done with your baby @jdogresorg.
Things are broken and no one knows who/where to ask
I am aware of several dispensers that did not trigger as they should have and don't know what to do about it. -
Ah ok sorry, i misunderstood... Ok, thx for feedback and your explanations about cp v10.4 🙏
-
Eh... it is what it is... CP was never my baby.. I kept it alive and on track for the community... would have loved to force some changes in (like the current devs have done)... but didn't feel it was appropriate to do so in a community driven project.... It took me a long time to adjust and get over walking away from CP... but even tho it might sound like i'm riled up, I'm actually in a really good place now... working on stuff I love with people I respect and look forward to the future... longer-term I think CP will be fine... just, right now, core devs making the community feel pain unnecessarily cuz they feel they know what is best rather than listening
-
Mostly upset about dispensers being chainged cuz it was Johns baby and legacy... no now its gone backwards in functionality.... but, I know John is looking down on Javier and I and is very happy with what we are doing and the progress we are making 🙂
-
-
-
-
-
I'm glad to hear you're more zen and are doing work that you love now
-
and I appreciate you sticking up for the rest of us, as much as one person can
-
Daily Yoga, breathwork, meditation and cold plunges helped a lot in learning to control my stress responses 🙂
-
being by a beach probably helps too :)
-
Go out and yell into the waves
-
Last thing - what can I tell someone that sent money from freewallet to a dispenser and it didn't trigger. Is it a parsing issue? I see tokenscan has an upgrade notice, but would that affect dispensers generally?
Will it happen eventually or never? -
Yup... morning meditation on the beach for 30 minutes after my 6am yoga session really helps calm the mind.
-
sending BTC from freewallet to a dispenser now "should" work fine... it has in my testing... the main issue now is setting up dispensers in freewallet doesn't seem to work... will put out an update tonight that resolves that issue
-
for ppl who sent btc to a dispenser and it didn't trigger... blame it on the transition period to new counterparty-core 10.4 and treat it as you have in the past... try to track down and get in contact with the dispenser operator and ask for a refund
-
also tell ppl to make sure they are on the latest Freewallet Version, and go to settings and click "Reset to default"... to make sure they are pointing to an API that is 10.4.xx

Understood. Thank you as always.

Wow, I'm so jealous! Do you all live by the sea? Working with an ocean view every day? No need to squeeze onto crowded subways or buses just to sit in your tiny cubicles inside concrete buildings?🤯
-
Yeah... I live about 2 blocks from the beach.... walk down there daily to sit on the sand and meditate for about 30 minutes... I've very lucky to live so close to the beach 🙂
-
When xcp bbq?
-
Jealousy is not good man,
-
-
-
means you can no longer "fair mint" the coin anymore
-
-
-
best to ask your question in the counterparty channel to the counterparty devs... since they are the ones who setup fair mints in this way and would be in the best position to answer your questions
-
Would be really helpful if they wrote up some howto or documentation on how this stuff works besides just the API documentation.
-
you can set a mint XCP price that either goes to creator or is burned, at the creation moment of the fairmint you can choose it
-
-
Would be helpful if you or someone else could write up some documentation on these features so users wanting to use the new features could understand them better 👍️️️️️️
-
i dont have the time for it :(

Fair Minting | Counterparty
Fair Minting is a process whereby users are able to “mint” tokens in a decentralized manner. One user initiates the mint (either with or without a “premint”), and then other users are able to trigger it to create tokens for themselves. Fair Minting was likely inspired by the original Counterparty Proof-of-Burn mechanism, by which users sent BTC to an unspendable address and XCP tokens were generate for them automatically.

Release v0.9.37 · jdogresorg/freewallet-desktop
Updates to support counterparty-core /v2/ API
-
New Freewallet 0.9.37 release which uses the counterparty-core /v2/ API endpoints... with the exception of the MPMA sends, due to the fact that there are still issues with the /v2/ API and multisends... an issue with passing quantity using the /v2/ API... and a separate issue with incorrectly reporting not enough address balances in the /v1/ API
-
-
Can very clearly see that I have 77 BACKINBLOOD tokens in my address, and am trying to send 2, but am getting an error message about having "insufficient funds"
-
I hope that the core devs are able to address this issue so that users can once again do Multi-Peer-Multi-Asset sends (MPMA). @teysol
-
-
-
-
Dispensers working again in FreeWallet
-
I'll work to get support for "fairminters" (setting up a fair mint on a token so ppl can mint it) in the next release... didn't have time in this release as I needed to get this release out the door to address issues with Dispeners and dispenses not working due to regressions in the counterparty-core /v1/ API.

Just a heads up dispenser functions working perfect I opened one a little bit ago but I sent Bitcoin to a dispenser to buy xcp bitcoins gone the dispenser doesn't show my unconfirmed transaction and it hasn't pulled any that I bought out of the escrow to mount and I still haven't received any of the xcp and don't see the transaction still

Jdog, it's over. You won't have influence over CP anymore. You're just stabbing yourself lashing out like this. You're losing sympathy too. Once their wallet is feature complete they can ignore you completely.
If you want to continue freewallet etc, then treat CP like you would treat Mozilla or something. Only communicate when absolutely necessary, in a formal way (bug reports and the like), preferably not at all. -
If you look at my engagement in the CP channel the past few months, there has been none... i've taken the tactic of letting them do what they want... the only reason I am doing this now is to simply get an answer on the reason he is not being transparent.... And, they already ignore me, not concerned with me or maintaining any sense of control... simply want ppl to be transparent with this supposed "community" project 🤷️️️️️️
-
-
I'm not saying they're right, I'm just sad to see you bang your head into the wall
-
i'm good bro... might seem like I am mad, but I am not. I am in a good mental place. I detached from Counterparty a number of months ago and am making great progress on xchain-platform 🙂 Sorry if it seems like I am banging my head against a wall... I feel it is important to call out the lack of transparency by the core devs.
-
-
-
I have been meaning to update the documentation for the Tokenscan changes and the new fairmint feature - will start working on that as soon as i can
-
Are you J-Dog too?😲
-
lol no
-
-
-
Yup…. Prolly just using dispensers as they have worked for years… unaware that they gotta use a counterparty wallet now
-
Def is... its pronounced "duh-Vestah"
It's Italian...
Literally translated its "dog man" -
well isnt that sad.... almost like we told core devs this would happen 6+ months ago.... and looks like they never contacted StampNinja dev (Noop) to update ninjawallet?
-
best you can do for yourself and others is to let them know they have to use the most recent version of FW or Horizon (due to the protocol changes)
-
Incorrect. I personally informed them on several occasions well in advance and they were onboard. Help was even offered by the core devs to anyone who wanted it. Ultimately, can’t control what others do.
-
ah... but ninjawallet still running 9.6? .... so users there wont have successful dispenses?
-
They’re getting dispenses on the Ninja fork

this is a big deal!
-
I used most recent version this morning and experienced it
-
but you mentioned its another user trying to buy from you? the issue isnt your fault
-
-
Both happened this morning I updated first thing this morning sent funds to a dispenser to buy xcp the funds got there but the dispenser didn't trigger also at the same time this morning old school frog free wallet wallet sent funds to one of my dispensers and it didn't trigger only other clue I could offer was it was a dispenser that I had only opened this morning on the new version of free wallet.
-
ANNOUNCEMENT: Active network fork has occurred on Counterparty. Stamp Ninja appears to still be running Counterparty Core 9.6 rather than a version >10 like Horizon and Freewallet.
This means that if you've bought an asset using Ninja software in the last 3 days, you may have only received the asset on their fork which will not be reflected on the main consensus fork of Counterparty.
You can check this by looking up your address on either tokenscan.io or https://explorer.unspendablelabs.com/ and seeing if the asset is in your address or not.
Until further notice, it is recommended not to open dispensers or buy from dispensers on Stamped.Ninja and if you've been impacted to contact the seller of the asset.Horizon ExplorerHorizon Explorer by Unspendable Labs
-
-
interesting - can you show me to tx id's of the dispenser you bought XCP from this morning?
old school frog wallet (Rare Pepe Wallet) doesnt seem to support buying from dispensers at this time (as shown on the xcp website for wallets) -
No I meant the frog that sent the corn has FreeWallet. Not sure version.
Standby and I'll get the dispenser addy I sent to -
the version they used is very important - they should be on most recent version
-
-
-
Might be that auto-btc to dispense conversions are not happening consistently…. I can add an address check before a send to check for dispensers n create a dispense tx instead of a send….. so much for CP API being stable🤷🏻♂️

Getting 'insufficient balance' error when doing MPMA send · Issue #2541 · CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core
When doing an MPMA send using both /v1/ and /v2/ endpoints I am getting an error message from counterparty-core that I have 'insufficient funds" when in fact, there are plenty of funds to ...
-
Will also update to using compose-mpma instead of compose-send (which is how Mpmas were done until recent 10.4 release)
Such a shitshow…. Sorry about any issues guys, doing my best to figure out what is not working as it’s supposed to in counterparty-core through trial and error n work around it🤷🏻♂️😜 -
Unfortunately issues are not in freewallet but in counterparty-core not performing as it should… n no way to “revert”… we’re forced to use these new api endpoints by depreciating the old /v1/ endpoints and the refusing to make updates to ensure backwards comparability🤷🏻♂️
-
Can i just dl an older version and then overwrite existing? will that work ?
-
-
thanks 😭

😂 Sorry, I only speak Chinese, this is all translated using Google Translate, please forgive me if the expression is inaccurate.

Freewallet User Manual has been updated for version 0.9.37 and have added a few things:
- added the Minting Open Fairmints section to teach users how to fairmint with new FW version:
https://davestaxcp.gitbook.io/freewallet.io-user-manual/freewallet-functions/minting-open-fairmints
- added the article by Subterranean on how to host image/token data using a Github Repo
- removed mentions of Numeric tokens not showing up on Tokenscan (let me know if you see any other places this is mentioned)
- all mentions of xchain now changed to Tokenscan.io instead (currently finishing this one up right now)
- Reviewed and revised the Dispenser posts to represent new changes to protocol data
.... as always, please review and let me know if you see any other places that need changes, clarification, etcMinting Open Fairmints | Freewallet.io User ManualFreewallet now supports the minting of open fairmints on Counterparty.
-
Hi me again, I can mint but cant do anything else on fw, But i want to know if issue a supply, how do i choose max mint etc? I can only see amount
-
from what i can tell, creating Fairmints (and setting premint, max mint etc) is not supported yet by FW
this tutorial was for minting open Fairmints created by somebody else. You will need to review Tokenscan data for what max mint there is for that specific fairmint and manually type that in when minting for the "Amount" entry -
Is there another wallet that supports it ? I would have to import my pk also ?
-
Horizon wallet supports creating Fairmints at the moment - you will have to check out their wallet and go to their chat for more info:

Imagine yesterday or today was the first time you discovered Counterparty.
Then imagine yourself turning and running away as quickly as possible - 23 October 2024 (80 messages)

Can you point me at the tx you tried to setup a dispenser? I'll try to set one up right now in FreeWallet... definitely super annoying to not have the CP API generating transactions as it should be, and to have the core devs blaming other wallet devs, even tho we are using the exact same API.
-
-
upgrading counterparty-core to 10.5.0... the one released earlier today... having to the the rollback and reparse (again)... API should be up in a lil bit, will let you know when its back up and you can try again (and will setup dispensers myself first to make sure its working from my end)
-
-
-
Pretty annoying that rather than answer questions about why CP is having problems, or answer questions about VC funding, they got all up in a rage and tried to ban me from the channel, then refuse to engage in the channel and try to start their own... Seems like strange behavior from devs who are supposed to care about users and community.... seems they only interested in their own explorer/wallet... as anytime an issue is raised, the response seems to be to say "works in Horizon" and blame everyone else 🤷️️️️️️
-
-
Also will put out another freewallet update tomorrow to address the "sending BTC and it not being seen as a dispense tx" issue.... can't rely on the API to auto-convert send requests to dispense requests... "should" be able to, but have had too many users report issues since the last update to trust it... so will do the dispenser check on my own and create a send or dispense tx directly rather than trusting the API to choose the right tx type
-
-
-
-
Typically I would say that is true in most cases... tho I have found that if you TRULY love something or someone, you want what is best for them, regardless of if it involves you or not.... Tough to see someone you love in the arms of another, but if it truly makes them happy, and you truly love them, then you want what is best for them above all else.
-
plenty of cucks out there usually they are liberals 🤣
-
-
stamps guys are cucks
-
-
worth noting I didn't ban or censor or remove anyone today... simply asked questions.. when I was banned, added myself back and removed admin power from Adam.... didnt ban or remove.... said I just wanted answers and would admin him back when he answered... HE left, then came back, I did as promised and re-added as admin, to which point he then once again ragequit the channel... To me, its not a me vs core devs thing... I want what is best for counterparty... and tried to demonstrate that through my actions.... but, unfortunately some ppl dont have very thick skin when asked difficult questions 🤷️️️️️️
-
If he is funding stuff from his own pockets, could have very easily said that and would have been a non-issue... instead all this unnecessary drama and continuing to gaslight me and blame me... my wallet is "unmaintained"... I am toxic... my daddy didn't love me enough... anything but being honest and transparent... I can understand I might rub some ppl the wrong way... but SOMEONE has to ask the hard questions sometimes, they already think I am the villan, so I'm fine asking the tough questions when needed
-
tho, will be glad to get a stable release of freewallet back out and switch back to working on my own xchain platform.... wasted a week plus on this forever CP 10.4 hotfixes and updates and wallet releases trying to hit their moving targets 🤷️️️️
-
</end rambling>

Gnight guys... chat with ya in the AM
-

hello there 👋, i've got this error where i'm trying to mint TRUMPMINTS assets :
-
-
could be because Jdog is reparsing to the new xcp core version - best to be patient at the moment - you can still mint using Horizon wallet at this time if you would like to
-
be careful guys from this scammer :
-
-
true, but fairminting is just one of many upgrades... better to be prepared now until all hell breaks loose with having to deal with documenting how to use Atomic Swap, UTXO attachments, Lock Description etc
-
thx for your feedback
-
which is why it is mentioned in the pinned and warned of in the user manual - almost impossible to find them all in this chat - thanks for posting... helps new users not be scammed in the same way

yes, you're right, if we can help even 1 user, it is a victory ;)
-

-
Oh, I see I'm not the only one. I'll wait for a bug fix then. :)
-
-
Yup which is why this FAIRMINT was about as fair as the US 2020 election. 🤣
-
In theory yes…. But I’d wait til I put out a freewallet update later today just to be a bit more sure (won’t rely on API to determine if wallet should do send or dispense
-
Somone got drained today and is looking to sweep his xcp wallet but not sure what wallet to suggest as not sure FW or RPW has been updated to V2 and it has been tested. Do not want to make a bad situ worse. Any info would be appreciated.

Gm, got drained for my crapto. It was my own fault, I wanted to try out some software and downloaded it directly to my work station. Well long story short it was a maleware, and i had some images of my phase on a backup drive that i totally forgot about.
-
Freewallet sweep should work fine (it’s on v2 api)
-
Davesta is a documentation wizard
-
-
-
Is there still an issue with setting up dispensers?
-
setting up dispensers should work fine AFAIK... still an issue with "buying from dispeners" occasionally not working... would hold off on buying from dispenser until I put out an updated FreeWallet release later today
-
if you could be so kind as to take screenshot of your "create dispenser" form in freewallet, and note the tx_hash and link the tx generates... it would be helpful just in case the dispenser tx doesn't work... I expect it will work fine, but getting details just in case it doesn't could be helpful
-
Thank you 🙂

FYI... public.tokenscan.io is down for a few minutes while updating to the latest bootstrap... should be back up in 5 mins

took a bit longer than 5 minutes due to counterparty-core parsing some block for a long time unexpectedly

Thanks @BrrrGuy, I appreciate all your doing for the XCP/FW community during this stressful time.
My limited noob analysis of the current situation is: avoidable, unnecessary aggravation that didn't recognize the entire 'customer' base and underestimated the impact of forcing changes without any concern for a popular wallet that most noobs (like me) are getting their first XCP token experience with.
IMO, not a good look for the UL brand or seemingly forced adoption of their web-only browser solution.Brrr GuyMoney printer goes Brrr

FYI... found yet another regression in the Counterparty /v2/ API...

Traditionally, MPMA Sends have allowed for a optional per-line memo, which can be either hex or not on a per-send basis. According to the new /v2/ API docs, and the response from the /address/<a...
-
Once again, posting from this account because the admins have muted the ability to report this issue from my @brrrGuy account 🙈️️️️️️ Seems like users should be able to report issues here without having to jump through multiple sock accounts to make the community aware of regressions and technical issues... but maybe i am wrong.
-
The above referenced issue prevents exchanges from batching their withdraw requests into an MPMA send and referencing a withdraw id# for each send. Hope this issue gets fixed in the next release 👍️️️️️️
-
FYI... in working on freewallet updates to allow MPMA sends to work reliably, I discovered an issue/regression in the /v2/ API which forces all the sends to use a single memo, instead of a per-send memo as it has always been. I have raised this issue to the developers 👍️️️️️️
