Someone has been attempting to "STAMP" ontop of a 10 year old asset. While the result is "invalid" as they are not the owner, Xchain keeps track of the attempt.

We ran into this early on with Counterwallet. Counterwallet, when generating a numeric asset number to mint, wouldn't check back to the beginning of Counterparty's history to ensure that the numeric hadn't already been used. So there would be these STAMP attempts on very old assets. Invalid, but visible.

Actually, I should revise that... these weren't randomly generated by Counterwallet, but attempts by users to choose an interesting number combination like A199999999999999 that might have already been used and Counterwallet's duplicate detection would fail if the asset was old enough.

I heard about some people getting there wallets stolen
So if these “cards” digital assets
Are infact unique and can not be messed with then couldn’t you easily make a broadcast with the exact info of the stolen cards and if assets get stolen then the blockchain would pick up there activity and just halt everything?? Couldn’t that work
Or maybe in the programming it say there is 1000 supply each one has a unique number to it ?? Then thieves would be cut off at the knees yes no? Thoughts I’m sure you guys have pondered this ? -

What it comes down to is trusting some oracle for truth. Now we’re all friends here but I can imagine a malicious cabal that works against you.
The way Bitcoin works is that possession is, effectively, ownership. If you’re gonna introduce an oracle you don’t need a blockchain at that point. You also lose decentralization. For some use cases, maybe it makes sense. For instance, stablecoin providers can “freeze the chain”. -

I don't know what the future plans are for xchain and I'm not going to speculate, but xchain doesn't show all Counterparty assets (specifically numerics) so I think Horizon has the edge. It's a true Counterparty explorer and the forthcoming wallet leaves little reason to continue using xchain/freewallet in my opinion.

That's weird, the transaction is confirmed but it says "cancelled". BTC order pairs can be tricky. It requires both parties to leave their wallets open until two confirmations take place, AFAIK. -

Perhaps it would be more time efficient *and* meaningful from a price discovery perspective to make two separate OTC groups —- one for "small lot" sales and one for "large lot" sales.

Bryan, I do find it interesting you recently changed your handle. It was Dydxsupport_dev yesterday. DyDX was an exchange (no longer around, I believe) and I'm sure anyone who works for an exchange knows this stuff (tokens go to zero). That being said, using a handle like this (exchange support) is often a red flag. Not saying you're a scammer, but I'm definitely getting scammer vibes.
