There are several markets. You can sell via exchange in Freewallet or Trade in Rarepepewallet on the DEX. You can setup dispensers via Freewallet, Horizon wallet or Rarepepewallet. And you can do atomic swaps via Horizon markets. If you are really desperate you can vault your cards and sell them on the Ethereum chain on Opensea via Emblem vaults. -

That’s great…. He restored a feature disabled for years…. Now he just has to open source the wallet… kinda weird for an open source advocate to expect ppl to use a closed source version centralized wallet…. I personally don’t use it as I don’t trust that this server won’t get hacked… it’s just a matter of time before that happens n ppl lose funds/wallets…. But yay, slight tweaks to an old feature released as something new🎉🤷🏻♂️

Yes, that error is coming directly from the counterparty API…. I’ll be releasing a version of FreeWallet in the coming weeks which hides those error messages…. It’s related to trying to generate a transaction for fee estimation and the API throwing an error message which FreeWallet displays….. You should be able to just fill in the amount and destination address and the air message will go away and you can use the wallet as you have in the past

Its fine if your a CP 2.0 supporter, I even run a wallet which runs 90% of the traffic on CP 2.0 still... but keep your bullshit out of this room bruh.... There is a whole room for circlejerking and talking about how horrible I am as a person (even tho I ran and funded CP out of my own pocket for 10 years and kept it alive while your dear founders were off accepting millions in VC funds and running failing companies)

I ran the CP API servers for 10 years, and ran rarepepewallet.com and fakerarewallet.com and the counterwallet servers for many years... none of them got hacked (have background as hacker in the 90s, and sysadmin, and database admin, and programmer... and.. and)... so, while nothing is ever 100% secure, I am much more confident in my skills to secure a server than some others in the space who have outsourced their server security to me until recently

Yup, not the same as open source, and Joe knows it. Also doesn’t address concerns about his wallet running from a centralized server which could get hacked and the code changed to steal users funds (all wallet code loads from a centralized server, so pretty easy to change that wallet code n have the “txs built in client” steal funds.) Joe jumping through mental hurdles to try and defend his closed source/centralized wallet vs just open sourcing it as has been asked for many years…. As the bitcoiner saying goes “Don’t trust, verify”… even Horizon is open source (tho still run from central servers, so still vulnerable to attacks… horizon chrome extension is prolly safe tho) 🤷🏻♂️
It’s fine if ppl want to use Joe’s wallet, but I don’t, as I’m aware of the risks associated with it👍🏻

Once again, sir, you are misinformed… Joe’s not banned here, Shawn is not banned here, most people in the CP 2.0 camp have chosen to leave of their own accord… there are indeed a handful of individuals probably 5 to 6 that have been banned after 2+ weeks of constant attacks and FUD and wanting to keep the drama going.
As much as you would like to believe what you are being told, and that this is a classic only channel and that anyone who speaks out gets banned, that is not the case…. As you are still here and able to freely speak your mind, as are others….. the only people who have been banned are people who only return here to troll and stir up drama, and the full chat history is available here to prove that if anyone actually cares to review the chat history.🤷🏻♂️

As long as conversations are respectful, they are allowed here, differences of opinions is not a reason to censor or ban people…. However, constant trolling does result in warnings and eventual bans, as it always has (see pinned content policy in place here for many years👍🏻) -
And for the record, I don’t hold a grudge against the 2.0 people…. And could’ve very easily disabled 2.0 in my tools and forced all users to use classic….. instead, I support both versions of counterparty…. And I’m not the group that went off and created a channel specifically to circle jerk about what a horrible person they feel I am for having a difference of opinion and standing up for certain voices in the community.

Hi, I just got introduced to fairmints, and I'm currently lost, I search how to use fairmints and got lost even further. My only level right now is using Freewallet creating tokens and dispensers. Does anyone have a link to a simple video tutorial for this. I want to give it a try but is $20 dollars worth of BTC good enough to make a test. Or do I need more BTC to actually experiment in fairmints.

I still don't understand what fairmint does, is the token still yours in your wallet when someone mints it? When you place your token supply in a dispenser then someone buys it, is that different from someone minting your art?

Fairmints are just essentially a way to make it so that you define the maximum supply that exists for a token and then anyone can mint that token for just the cost of a bitcoin transaction…. After the token is minted it’s just like every other token on counterparty and you can put it into dispenser, put it in an order, etc..

I would be careful about using assets and attaching them to UTXO’s though…. As there’s been a number of people in the last few weeks who have lost funds by “accidentally” spending the UTXO’s with assets attached to them which results in sending the asset to someone unintentionally.
With dispensers, the only risk was if a buyer didn’t rush a BTC payment to the dispenser quick enough…. However, with atomic swaps, the risk has now been swapped to the seller, and the seller can accidentally send their token to someone unintentionally if they use anything other than a counterparty specific wallet….. so we went from being able to use any wallet to interact with dispensers and on board people to counterparty, to now having to use a counterparty specific wallet to use counterparty, and if you use a wallet, other than a counterparty wallet, then you risk losing your tokens.
Javier and I warned about this many months ago, and in fact had to convince Adam and team to update counterparty to change the UTXO selection model so that when users were using atomic swaps and then doing something like a send or placing an order, they didn’t unintentionally spend those UTXO’s.
Everyone is free to use whatever they want, but I feel they should be aware of the risks associated with it.👍🏻 -

I went to fairmints.io and tried to connect but was prompted to download from a list of wallet apps. one of them is magic eden, I installed it and made a fresh wallet, tried to click on the mint, and it prompted me that I don't have any UTXO. That's why I was wondering how these UTXOs connected to counterparty tokens and fairmints. Anyways, thanks for the explanation. Will try to google more about it.

the new open dispenser policy is shitty...
is there a way to open a dispenser to a different addy (like before) without sending the asset to that addy first?
it is a waste of sats
1) send asset to new addy —- new tx and pay miner fee
2) send BTC to new addy —- new tx and pay miner fee
3) open disp —- new tx and pay miner fee
pay 3 txs when before was only one tx.
I can't imagine what will happen when fees go crazy again... -

Yeah, truly sad how far those two have gone now… I understand if they disagree about the reasoning behind the fork, however, no one is pushing a fork in their channels and any mention of the word or any show of support for it results in banning and kicking and muting…. Which is actually pretty hilarious because they accuse me of doing that and yet people are in this channel talking and saying whatever they would like, while at the same time, the people who claim to be open minded and all about the community are booting and kicking community members🤷🏻♂️
Shawn Leary kicked me and GMoney from the 300 club even though both of us own two Nakamoto cards each …. Joe Looney went ahead and created a Pepe card bot, which is perfectly fine, but then use the same profile photo and name for the bot as my bot, and then quietly swapped it into the rare Pepe channel…. When question about it he says it’s no big deal, and then deleted my comments and muted me in the channel….
It used to be the rare Pepe scientist were all cool with one another, but over the last year, Joe and Shawn have really revealed their true colors and that they care more about their opinions being the only ones heard and have no problem with underhanded tactics like creating a bot to pretend to be the bot that I wrote, creating and participating channels where the whole purpose of the channel is to circle jerk about how horrible of a person I am and attack my character, banning and muting people with differing opinions, etc
I’ve heard multiple times from Shawn before I cut contact that “it’s not personal. It’s just business” … and yet anyone who mentions trigger words or shows any support or differing opinions than them gets booted from channels that he’s created…. Feels personal man.
Anyway, they’re free to do whatever they want and run the channels however they want….. but it is pretty hilarious to sit back and watch them be little dictators who censor mute and ban people with differing opinions while at the same time attacking myself and anyone else who happens to share opinions that align with mine🤷🏻♂️ -

I am trying to send an asset from Free Wallet to an emblem vault and I keep getting this Counterparty not ready message on my free wallet. Sometimes I also get the Counterparty API communication error. I have the latest version of Free Wallet and all the server settings are default settings. Any idea why this happens?

FYI... I spent yesterday "updating" to cp 10.9.1, and all of a sudden now transactions generated by the CP API which previously were signed perfectly fine in FreeWallet now are failing to sign. I am digging into this issue, and will most likely put out a new version of FreeWallet shortly... wanted people to be aware that FreeWallet has not changed, the CP 2.0 software has changed and is now generating txs which are not able to be signed in FreeWallet.... and of course, any issues created on github about this by users have the issues closed and say this is a FreeWallet specific issue and offer no explaination... gotta love the support of the "community" by the current core devs 🤷️️️️️️
