@jdogresorg a question for you and any other developers - would it be possible to create an online platform that would allow people to issue subassets under a main asset you owned - if you, as the owner, allows it? And if yes, one step further, could the payments made to pay for those subassets be adjusted by the owner and then automatically be evenly distributed to each of the main asset tokens? I know there’d be legal issues per jurisdictions etc. and possibly security issues - but in your opinion could this be technically feasible? -

If I already have FreeWallet installed on Mac desktop is there a way to load an existing passphrase from a previous wallet?

I would imagine you could just log out of the current wallet and then log back in but using the previous phrase. I think FW required the seed phrase on all logins regardless. -

Other than logging out, and on to the new wallet, somewere there is an option, to ad the pk of a single adress from your other seedphase wallets imo. If that helps.

Multiple dispensing assets in one dispenser address is not suggested unless you are doing something like this, it looks like it's 'expensive' but in fact it is the full bundle price for any single asset shown to be dispensed

I like the fact that a wide assortment of creations can exist under one search. Check the subassets and find things the way you find related photos in a folder on your desktop. I think over time many creators will build wide ranging collections under their 'main asset' and can even go deeper, CARSONATED.winter.77 could be one of a series of 100 assets and CARSONATED.summer.64 could be another thematic group

Don't you think this is a bitcoin issue? Even if the explorer pulled down the dispenser page once it reached a pending closed point, a savvy buyer could still look up the address and fire off a higher fee tx to frontrun the current buyers

on xchain.io when there is pending dispenses that would empty the dispenser I show the dispenser as empty and tell people DO NOT send funds to this dispenser... and yet, still ppl do.

And even if on a protocol level Counterparty did something to prevent it, a savvy person could just send from a straight bitcoin based wallet.

technically no way to prevent first-come-first-served.... but, associating dispenser with contact info will make resolving situations like this a bit easier..... if this continues to be an issue, we have other possible solutions to this issue (a reservation system), but I don't really want to work on that solution until we get the Trusted Dispensers solution implemented and see how that works

First will try trust solution… if still not enough we can implement dispenser reservation system where ppl send x% of the payment in to reserve the tokens for X blocks… then when rest of payment is sent reserved tokens are released to buyer….. only issue is it requires multiple txs (defeats the purpose of single payment dispensers)

Counterparty runs on Bitcoin....Counterparty cant escrow Bitcoin in a trustless way... so no, no way to auto-reject or auto-refund transactions

that is the idea behind Trusted Dispensers.... dispensers where the operator self identifies with some contact info like social media (twitter, telegram, etc) or email, etc..... as long as we have some way to get in contact with the dispenser operator, I think things will be fine.... pretty quickly honest operators will self-identify their dispeners (i'll make it easy) and then we will have "trusted dispensers" where you can have confidence that the tx will go through fine, or that you will have some contact info to request a refund from the operator in instances of mistakes.

After that, we can try a reservation system if we still have issues... that will take more txs to use dispensers in a way that you can have 100% confidence that you will get your tokens.... but, I'm not really a fan of that approach... its a last resort, as it will clutter up the CP codebase with payment tracking code.

There are issues with Freewallet. Most is just not visible. If you go to host1.xchain.io and paste your addy in the search bar it will show your assets. You can also change your server settings in Freewallet (under settings -> server settings). Change the host to host1.xchain.io

freewallet takes all its data from xchain.io... so if xchain is lagging, freewallet will not show current txs..... no need to piss your pants tho, just a display issue which will be resolved shortly... CP has never lost funds

Looks like the issue is that someone was trying to cram special characters into a broadcast and it caused counterparty2mysql to stop parsing.....so... you can thank one of your community members for the downtime

sorry to hear you had a less than perfect experience..... sometimes we get users who do some fringe stuff and occasionally the parsing between counterparty and the xchain database stops parsing and I gotta fix some stuff to get it parsing again.... Counterparty itself is up and running fine, the issue is just a display issue with transferring data from sqlite3 to mysql which is what xchain uses internally 🙂

Question: I notice that FreeWallet shows a second tier asset for CSAT, which I assume is a sub asset.
Yet PEPETHUGLIFE also has a sub asset and the wallet doest not display it the same way. What am I missing?

no, there is not currently a supported way... there IS a way, but it is a hack which I will be removing in the next release of freewallet.io..... now that CIP25 has been defined, we have a way to safely define images/audio/video/files in JSON.... so, getting support for images/videos/audio/etc will be coming to freewallet in a future version (next release or the one after that)

Make sure your server settings match this screenshot.... also, if it is an isue generating the transaction, that is an issue talking to CP API... if it isn an issue signing, then it is a wallet issue... if it is an issue with broadcasting a tx, it is an issue specific to your address and you'll need to try to broadcast the tx manually to see the actual broadcast error message
